Eternal Tale

As they spoke, the two had already arrived at a secret room on the second floor of the shop.

Chen Xun had some impression of Ru Tang; she seemed to be a named disciple of that elder from the sacred land whose robe had been torn to shreds.

Back then, Ru Tang was only at the early Unity stage, but now she had reached the mid-Unity stage. It seemed she had received quite a bit of cultivating resources from that elder, smoothly advancing along her path.

Thinking of this, Chen Xun smiled softly and asked, ”I wonder what brings you here today, fellow Daoist?”

Ru Tang glanced at his sixteen-pack abs, her eyes shining with interest, and smiled, ”I heard that fellow Daoist Zhou Xing from the sacred land greatly praises fellow Daoist Dongfang’s refining skills. I happened to pass by today, so I came to make your acquaintance, with no other intentions.”

After speaking, she carefully observed Chen Xun and then glanced around the refining shop.

Returning to simplicity, this place was filled with the mundane atmosphere of the mortal world, unlike other refining pavilions that exuded grandeur.

The more it was like this, the less Ru Tang dared to underestimate it. Having traveled the Wild Heaven Region for many years, she had encountered numerous strong individuals and remembered each unique habit.

For instance, this person might have stepped from the mortal world into the vast world of immortals, hiding here to comprehend the Dao.

Although she couldn’t discern the exact realm of this fellow Daoist Dongfang, he was likely at a higher level than her, and Zhou Xing hadn’t exaggerated.”Zhou Xing...” Chen Xun suddenly realized, his smile deepening, ”How has he been these years? It’s been a while since he last visited.”

”Zhou Xing... I heard he went into the wilderness to select a batch of Heavenly Hidden Stones, but that place stretches for millions of miles, vast and boundless, and he hasn’t returned yet.”

Ru Tang’s expression remained calm, with a slight sigh in her tone, ”Later, I heard that an immortal tomb emerged there, attracting strong individuals from all sides, and he lost contact. The sacred land has already sent elders to investigate.”

”I see.” Chen Xun’s gaze slightly focused. The wilderness was quite distant from here, and many ancient clans were said to reside there.

As they discussed, Chen Yanshu brought tea, respectfully saying, ”Senior Ru, Elder Xun, please have some tea.”

”Thank you.”

Ru Tang nodded, giving Chen Yanshu an extra glance before looking at Chen Xun, not dwelling too much on the topic of Zhou Xing, ”Fellow Daoist Dongfang, I see this young friend has a deep spiritual aura, quite a good seedling.”

”Haha...”

Chen Xun laughed heartily, sipping his health tea, ”His name is Chen Yanshu, I picked him up by a riverbank. As a cultivator, one must believe in fate.”

”Hehe, not bad.” Ru Tang smiled, delicately lifting her tea, ”He’s only at the Foundation Establishment stage now, but he could try his luck at the Xuanji Sacred Land to see if he has any immortal fate.”

Chen Yanshu stood aside, his eyes lighting up slightly before quietly withdrawing, his gaze occasionally flickering towards Chen Xun, not daring to look directly.

This scene didn’t escape Ru Tang’s notice, but she didn’t mind. It was human nature, and she was just casually mentioning it; fellow Daoist Dongfang was his elder.

”I’ll consider it.” Chen Xun pondered for a moment before speaking, ”Xuanji Sacred Land has countless strong individuals. If he wants to embark on the path of immortality, it would naturally be better than following me.”

”Fellow Daoist Dongfang, there’s no need to overthink. We’re just having a casual conversation.”

Ru Tang could see Chen Xun’s hesitation and smiled, ”We don’t need to worry too much about the younger generation.”

”Hehe.” Chen Xun chuckled, looking at Chen Yanshu, ”You can go back to work now. Ba Tian won’t entertain guests.”

”Yes, Elder Xun.”

Chen Yanshu solemnly cupped his hands, also bowing to Ru Tang, ”Senior Ru, please excuse me.”

”Alright.” Ru Tang nodded gently, approachable.

After Chen Yanshu left, she smiled, ”This young one is quite polite, lacking the rough temperament of those Wild Heaven cultivators. It seems fellow Daoist Dongfang has taught him well.”

”Hehe.” Chen Xun gave a perfunctory smile, not dwelling on Chen Yanshu, but instead changing the subject, ”I noticed that fellow Daoist Ru seemed a bit anxious when you arrived?”

”Did I?”

”A little.”

”It seems nothing can be hidden from fellow Daoist Dongfang, making me a bit embarrassed.”

Ru Tang sighed lightly, smiling as she waved her sleeve, taking out a storage bag, ”Fellow Daoist Dongfang, inside are the materials and requirements for the magical artifact I want you to refine. Can you do it?”

Chen Xun took the storage bag and examined it carefully, murmuring, ”Feather of the Thunder Phoenix, skull of the three-headed ancient wolf, golden bloodstone...”

Seeing the materials inside, he looked at Ru Tang, ”These are all from some Wild Ancient Beasts at the Unity realm, and the ores are quite valuable too. Are you asking me to help refine a Unity realm offensive magical artifact?”

”Exactly!”

Ru Tang’s beautiful eyes flashed with a sharp light, answering frankly.

Although she was now a named disciple of Shen Shi, she still lacked the strength to become a formal disciple, so she needed a handy magical artifact.

Chen Xun placed the storage bag on the table and took a sip of health tea, ”These materials are quite valuable. Do you trust me so much, given that this is our first meeting?”

”Rest assured, fellow Daoist, just refine it. Since I’m willing to come, I naturally won’t doubt you. If there are any losses, they will be on me, and I won’t entangle further.”

Ru Tang’s eyes were sincere and clear, and she cupped her hands towards Chen Xun. She had actually investigated the magical artifacts refined by Chen Xun in others’ hands, finding his skills profound!

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have brought materials that she painstakingly acquired to someone else for refining, as these items were practically half her fortune.

Hearing this, Chen Xun smiled without speaking, seemingly contemplating something.

After a moment of silence, seeing Ru Tang’s clear eyes, he set down his health tea cup and laughed heartily, ”Since fellow Daoist trusts me so much, I’ll take on this task.”

”Thank you, fellow Daoist Dongfang!” Ru Tang stood up, her voice calm and steady, ”The extra materials will be your reward, and I’ll await your good news.”

She then took out a jade slip and placed it on the table, containing some refining requirements.

Chen Xun raised his hand to take the jade slip from the table, his expression calm, ”Alright, then come back in a year, fellow Daoist Ru.”

Hearing this, Ru Tang’s heart trembled, her expression changing several times, valuing Chen Xun even more. She cupped her hands without showing any emotion, ”No rush, I can wait within a hundred years.”

Chen Xun smiled faintly, nodding gently. Ru Tang was indeed sensible and knew how to conduct herself.

The two chatted briefly before Ru Tang left.

...

Time flew by like dust in the wind, everything silent and unnoticed.

From the time he took on Ru Tang’s order, a year had passed without realizing it.

The refining of her magical artifact was completed in just a few months, but to avoid unnecessary trouble, it had been quietly lying in Chen Xun’s storage ring until today when he notified Ru Tang to come and collect it.

Upon receiving the message, Ru Tang arrived as promised. She stood at the entrance of the refining shop, scanning the surroundings, and cupped her hands, ”Fellow Daoist Dongfang!”

Chen Xun came over from the backyard with a smile, handing over the storage ring, ”Fellow Daoist Ru, inside is the magical artifact you requested. See if it meets your satisfaction.”

”Alright.” Ru Tang nodded lightly, beginning her inspection, feeling both nervous and somewhat expectant.

When she released her divine sense and saw her magical artifact, Ru Tang’s eyes widened as if she had seen something unbelievable.
