Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1689 1689: We must run! (Part 1)

The Dark Knight has not yet revealed his full power, but Vyoraʼs Hollow Mark forced him to play one of his trump cards.

His cloak turned out to be a far more terrifying weapon than his sword or darkness, and now, one of his three red eyes was closed. Itʼs unknown how long it will take for the Dark Knightʼs third eye to open, but his opponents wonʼt give him a single second to catch his breath.

Tap.

Vyora stepped aside. Her attack had cost her a great deal of energy. Usually, when she summoned the flaming ray, the fight would end there, and her enemy would sustain fatal wounds.

But she didnʼt need to worry, because Sarka was ready to take her place.

Adam wasnʼt in a hurry to join the fight either. He wanted to see what kind of Hollow Mark Sarka had and then make a decision.

”Only when I know what weʼre capable of will I be able to see the path to victory,” he thought, shifting his gaze to the Dark Knight. ”That bastard. Heʼs gradually getting tired, but why donʼt I feel like weʼve gotten even a step closer to victory? Whatʼs more, heʼs the only one whoʼs sustained any significant injuries, and still… nothing.”

STEP!

Sarka stepped forward confidently, accepting Loarghʼs invitation.

With a wave of her hand, she tore off her robe, revealing a black, light outfit that barely covered her chest and lower body.

At the small of her back was her Hollow Mark. It glowed with a blue light, eager to rush into battle just like its owner.

Adam noted its shape.

ʼHuh, so claws and flames? Pretty simple, but of all the options that came to mind, this is probably the most logical.ʼ

A few seconds later, Sarka was ready for battle. Her hair filled with light, energy blades appeared on her forearms, and long, black claws grew on her hands, soon engulfed in blue flame.

Her transformation was different, but it went through the same stages as Larth, Loarth, and Vyoraʼs.

But for Adam, this was an important piece of information as his gaze fell on her claws.

”So the weapon of the Hollow Mark can be anything? It doesnʼt matter if itʼs a spear, battle boots, a magic staff, or even claws. Hmm, when the Lords summoned their Arcs, it was always a weapon, not something else.”

In fact, of everything Adam had seen before, he considered the Hollow Mark to be the most powerful transformation.

The Resonance possessed by every Phantom, or the Solar Form of the Hybrids, did not have such versatile applications as the Hollow Marks.

ʼThis power... It gives them everything at once. Sure, the Arcs are far more powerful weapons than what they get with the Hollow Mark, but maybe itʼs all about their level?ʼ

Then, Adam wondered what Kaerno was capable of in that case. Even without his Hollow Mark, as one of the Fingers, he held a special position in power even among the True Lords.

ʼAgh.ʼ He shook his head, dismissing those thoughts. ʼNo. Right now I have to think about something else.ʼ

ʼHey, do you have any ideas?ʼ

The Silver Weaver, who was sitting atop the Evolution Tree, lazily opened his eyes.

ʼWhat? Canʼt you take a single step without advice? What do you want from me?ʼ

Adam frowned.

ʼCome on, you must have figured something out. How do we defeat that bastard? What is he hiding?ʼ

The Silver Weaver narrowed his eyes, his expression growing darker.

ʼI donʼt know, Adam. The only thing Iʼm sure of is that since the start of the battle, you havenʼt come any closer to victory. Also… Watch out for his weapon. As a weapon myself, I sense that the main threat comes from that sword, not his weird cape.ʼ

Adam nodded, continuing to watch. Either way, it wasnʼt his turn yet.

Loargh stepped forward as his wings fluttered.

”Iʼll go first and give you a chance to attack. We have to force him to use his remaining two eyes. That will bring us closer to victory.”

”Ha!” Sarka snorted confidently. ”Weʼll defeat him right here and now!”

Loargh said nothing in reply.

He just smirked as his figure turned into a blur.

The next moment, he was standing right in front of the Dark Knight.

”Grha…?” The Dark Knight grunted.

Whoooooooooosh!

A gust of wind swept forward only a few moments after Loarghʼs rush. Now, his speed far exceeded that of the wind, and even for the Dark Knight, it was an unattainable peak.

”Last time you caught me, it was humiliating and insulting. But…” Loargh looked down at the Dark Knight. ”This time, I wonʼt let that happen.”

SLASH!

The Dark Knight stepped forward, swinging his sword. The dark energy blade swept forward, cleaving the surface.

He acted fast enough to leave a deep gash on Loarghʼs chest.

At least, the Dark Knight wanted to believe that.

BAM!

Loarghʼs fist slammed into the Dark Knightʼs side, causing his armor to tremble.

”Get away from me!”

The Dark Knight spun around sharply.

It seemed as though his dark sword had passed through Loargh, the blade sinking into his flesh. But, instead of blood and a pained grimace on Loarghʼs face, he only saw Loarghʼs form vanish like a mirage.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Without mercy, Loargh continued to attack the Dark Knight from all sides, one strike after another, damaging the Dark Knightʼs armor plates.

From the side, Loargh moved so fast that his frame was barely visible. His movements turned into a cascade of white flashes and lines that attacked the Dark Knight from all sides, time and time again.

Splash! Splash! Splash!

Soon, several armor plates fell to the ground, and now, Loarghʼs hits caused bloody splashes, crimson blobs fell onto the field, covering the dry grass in red.

However, Adamʼs gaze was fixed on another person.

Sarka, like a predator waiting for its prey, crouched low, her claws scratching the ground as her gaze was fixed on the Dark Knight.

”NOW!” Sarka cried inwardly as another armor plate fell to the ground.

In a wild burst of energy, she sprang from her spot as her aura took the form of a ferocious beast ready to tear the proud knight to pieces.
