Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1476: House in the Center (Part 1)

Adam and Silvana spent much more time at the casino than they had expected, and it was only in the evening that they left, but they did not regret it.

In the end, they won several thousand credits, had a great time, and met Louis and Alexia. The last one was the most important.

Now, they visited an oriental cuisine restaurant: spicy noodles, sweet and sour chicken, rice, and sushi. These were just a few of the dishes they decided to try.

Silvana frowned slightly, but continued to eat the marbled meat that they were grilling on the stove at their table.

“Is something wrong?” Adam asked, putting another piece of sushi in his mouth.

“No, everything here is so delicious… So many sauces, so many different flavors, salty and sweet, sour and spicy, I can’t stop!” Silvana said when she saw the waiter bringing them dessert.

Adam raised an eyebrow.

“Is that a bad thing?”

Silvana shook her head.

“Well, how can I put this. You can eat and drink as much food, water, and alcohol as you want. Even if you gain a few extra pounds, all you need is one workout or a fight against regular monsters, and you’ll burn tens of thousands of calories.”

Adam just stared at her. He didn’t really understand what she was talking about.

“Damn it, Adam! I don’t want to be fat! I can’t lose weight at the snap of my fingers like you!”

In response, Adam just ate another piece of sushi, chewing slowly and staring at her intently, as if trying to figure out if she was joking or serious.

“You know you’re not exactly a normal human, right?” He accepted their desserts from the waiter. “I mean, if you use your energy and go to any gym or military training facility, you can go through intense workouts that will burn several thousand calories at once.”

Silvana didn’t respond as her eyes widened in realization.

Sure, she knew that after her powers became one with Adam’s Evolution Tree, she had her own energy.

However, since she spent most of her time in her office in front of screens and keeping in touch with Adam, she didn’t think about using her power for casual things.

Use her powers to help Adam defeat powerful monsters? Sure, Silvana wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to do that.

However, if she saw a box in a store or picked up too many groceries, she would still think she was too weak to lift it. When in fact, she was stronger than any ordinary person.

The same was true for calories.

“Wow, I never even thought about that. If I eat more than I should, instead of starving myself, I can just go through a tough workout that would be impossible for a normal person.”

Adam nodded, secretly taking her piece of meat while she was lost in thought.

“Yep, so, I advise you to eat as much as you want today. You go to the gym regularly, right?”

“Ughum.”

“Well, then it’s simple. You can eat a mountain of meat or five cakes today, just go to the gym tomorrow, and that’s it.”

Silvana didn’t need to hear anything else as a predatory gleam flashed across her eyes.

She raised her hand as the waiter approached them. A long and large order awaited him, as did the entire kitchen.

In fact, what Adam was saying was, to a certain extent, true for ordinary people. Sure, the average person couldn’t burn several thousand calories in one workout, but it was all about volume.

If a person wanted to lose weight, to shed a few pounds, it wasn’t worth completely giving up food or switching to vegetables alone. The best way was to create a calorie deficit, maintain it for a long time, and thus lose weight over the long term by a significant amount.

Moreover, if a person who is losing weight wants to treat themselves and eat something above their calorie norm once a week, it will not undo everything that person has done before.

On the contrary, if a favorite treat once in a while helps morally, it will only speed up weight loss, as a person will feel better than if they completely gave up their favorite food, be it fast food or some kind of sweets.

Like many girls, Silvana always watched her figure, so now she felt relieved.

“Hah, being an Operator of a powerful Phantom definitely has its advantages!” She exclaimed, looking at the nearly dozen plates in front of her.

Adam leaned on his hand as a satisfied smile spread across his face.

“The main thing is not to abuse it. You have to know how to enjoy food. If you eat everything in huge quantities, your favorite dishes will lose their taste over time.”

She nodded. She knew he was right, but right now she wanted to eat as much as possible.

Strangely enough, at that moment, she switched places with Adam, as it was usually him who ate mountains of food.

Adam could only watch as Silvana enjoyed her food, sometimes pausing because it was too hot.

‘Huh, you can enjoy life not only when fighting monsters, right?

…

Late at night, Adam and Silvana’s first meeting after a long pause came to an end.

“What are you planning to do next?” Silvana asked as they walked along the street.

Adam scratched the back of his head.

“Well, I was glad to see you, but I haven’t seen my family in a long time either. Huh, I haven’t even been to their new house in the center of the First Ring.”

“I’ll write down where it is for you.”

“Good.”

They stopped as Silvana looked at Adam.

“In that case… see you tomorrow?”

Adam smiled broadly.

“Sure. You wanted to look at houses for us, right? If you find some suitable options, we can look at them tomorrow and maybe even buy something.”

“Good.” Silvana nodded, stepped forward, and kissed him. “I’m sure your family will be happy to see you.”

“Hah, I bet!”
