Dragon-Marked War God

Chapter 2992 – A Beast in the Bottom of the Pond

“Are they really that terrifying?”

Sheng Kuan said in a deep voice.

“Let’s go back if we can’t continue.”

Chi Haifei was thinking of retreating at that moment. However, they might encounter a greater crisis on the way out if they did so.

“Let’s do our utmost to fight them. These bats are indeed strong, I guess the strongest one is at the Late Divine King Realm, at most.”

Yang Xikuan said with clenched teeth. They had no alternative but to fight to the death.

“Are they really that strong?”

Jiang Chen gathered his brows into a frown. The collective strength of thousands of Divine King Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats should never be underestimated.

“Come on guys, let’s fight.”

Yang Xikuan said with a serious face. They just burnt their bridges behind them, so they had to confront the enemy directly. They never thought of dealing with bats in the Great Emperor’s tomb.

The Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats used to move in groups, they were known as one of the most devastating and formidable creatures which could destroy everything in the world.

“I need you to survive this.”

Sheng Kun glanced at Sheng Bing. Sheng Bing nodded meaningfully, looking pale. They had no time to consider Li Chuang’s feelings. His face turned ghastly white at this hat moment. Thousands of Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats was such a formidable opponent for them, none of them dared to treat this easily.

In the twinkling of an eye, thousands of bats surged forward. It made the group shiver violently due to an inexplicable dread, that was a creepy and terrifying scene.

“Am I going to die soon?”

Li Chuang knew well that no one could protect him from the attack, he could only do it by himself. Life and death was fated.

Jiang Chen frowned. If there were just a few of such creatures, perhaps it was still manageable. However, there were thousands of them, which was absolutely out of their control. Even Jiang Chen himself was not sure of defeating all of them at that moment.

Each of them was nearly engulfed by Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats in the twinkling of an eye. They were desperate and frustrated, and did not dare treat the horde easily.

At this moment, Jiang Chen felt another person on the scene.

“Is it him?”

Jiang Chen pulled a long face suddenly. He realized that it was actually Dou Tianhuang’s soul.

“Haha. I will make you try the taste of the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats. You will never survive this unless you’re a Divine Emperor expert. Otherwise, I think you could hardly get rid of it even if there are another ten Hierarch experts here.”

Dou Tianhuang snorted and turned away. He was the one who summoned those horrifying Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats. He did this deliberately to stop them and eliminate them thoroughly at once.

Dou Tianhuang never expected the Second City Lord’s kind invitation would be a great opportunity. Not only that, he did not think that the Great Emperor’s tomb was extraordinary. Or else, the Second City Lord would definitely join the journey even if his life would be at risk. It was a pity that he did not know the truth and thus had not shown interest in this expedition. The Second Palace Lord would have been able to inherit the strength of the Great Emperor and it would be a remarkable achievement.

“Second City Lord, I guess you have never imagined that the tomb is owned by one of the most formidable Great Emperors in the Northern Cold Divine Region. Haha. Or else, it is impossible for you to give this opportunity to me voluntarily.”

Dou Tianhuang wore a faint smile and turned away. He was determined to make them deal with those Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats.

“Godd*mn it.”

Jiang Chen held the Heavenly Dragon Sword and swept through the sky with an overbearing demeanor. Ordinary experts would have lost the battle but he looked unbeatable and irresistible at this moment. His sword was extremely terrifying, he managed to kill ten Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats at once. Compared with others, he looked relatively relaxed and calm.

Even Yang Xikuan and Chi Haifei did not manage to stay calm. Jiang Chen surged forward aggressively in an irresistible way with an extraordinarily strong Sword Qi. Within one hour, Jiang Chen had killed more than a thousand bats.

On the other hand, Sheng Bing and Li Chuang were at death’s door. Sheng Kun’s eyes were filled with fighting intent but he could hardly move a single step. In the face of the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats, almost all of them were in trouble.

The air was filled with the strong smell of blood. Sheng Bing and Li Chuang had attracted more Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats. Misfortune never comes alone, as they said. Even Chi Haifei and Yang Xikuan were unable to resist such a great number of Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats at that moment.

“Brother!”

Sheng Kun was trying hard to break through and rescue Sheng Bing, but the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats did not allow him to do so. Three of them had suffered some injuries, except Jiang Chen. Even the Hierarchs were wounded, without exception.

“Come on, Five Elemental Trigram Fire Formation.”

Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes. He exerted the Five Elemental Trigram Fire to forge a huge formation. It expanded constantly and tried to force the bats to retreat. The formation eventually surrounded Yang Xikuan, Chi Haifei and Sheng Kuan and provided them a breathing space. However, Jiang Chen’s face turned ghastly pale. Although the Five Elemental Trigram Fire Formation could constrain the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats temporarily, it was extremely difficult to defeat thousands of them at once.

“Guys, you go ahead. I will catch up!”

Jiang Chen was moving forward constantly with the Five Elemental Trigram Fire Formation. Meanwhile, the Bloodthirsty Ghost Blood was attacking ferociously and trying hard to break the formation. The Five Elemental Trigram Fire Formation was tottering under the attack.

“Can you make it?”

Chi Haifei asked bitterly. Jiang Chen had saved his life once so he tended to treat him differently. Chi Haifei and Yang Xikuan would never simply leave Jiang Chen, unless it was a matter of their life and death.

“I will try my best to hold them back and try to get away from them after you leave. I think my fFormation can hold them for some time since my flame is the enemy of the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats.”

Jiang Chen said in a low voice. He was trying to save Sheng Bing and Li Chuang, but they were too weak to resist the first attack of the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats and even attracted more Ghost Bats after their injuries. Jiang Chen had no way of saving them at that moment.

“Great! Please stay alive, I will meet you later at the entrance.”

Yang Xikuan said bitterly, staring at Jiang Chen with a worried face.

“Alright.”

Jiang Chen answered in a deep voice, and kept moving the Five Elemental Trigram Fire Formation. He was still dealing with the wild attacks of the Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats alone.

“Burn them, Karmic Fire!”

Jiang Chen’s eyes looked cold. The Karmic Fire leapt to the sky and thousands of Bloodthirsty Ghost Bats were almost instantly burnt to ashes.

Jiang Chen did not want to show the mightiness of the Karmic Fire in front of them, since he’d spent almost half of his energy after exerting the Karmic Fire and thus he needed to recover his strength as soon as possible.

Jiang Chen fixed his eyes at the bottom of the pond and wore a frown on his face. He found something strange.

Jiang Chen was staring at the bottom of the pond. Compared with the coldness on the silver chain, it looked more terrible and dreadful. It seemed like there was a horrifying giant beast living under the pond.

“Such a huge beast.”

Jiang Chen’s eyes fixed sternly on the gigantic beast. It was surprising that the beast had reached the Mid-Hierarch Realm.
