Chapter 701: Chapter 700 Blow the Horn of War

”I never thought that even ARCHER would almost be defeated.”

Looking at the girl before him, the young priest couldn’t help but sigh, while the huntress remained silent, gripping her longbow tightly and not saying a word.

”Sister, is the enemy ASSASSIN?”

Seeing the expression on the girl’s face, Red RIDER, who was holding a long spear, asked with a grave tone, to which Red ARCHER nodded in agreement.

”Judging by their coordination and actions, that should be the case.”

Because Red ARCHER did not possess the ability to see through True Names like Jeanne d’Arc, she was unable to ascertain Little Hei’s true identity and class. However, based on the sudden ambush and the fierce attacks that followed, it was clear that the enemy was not the sort who would engage in direct combat with their foes. Not to mention...

”Before they made their move, I didn’t sense their presence at all. Apart from ASSASSIN’s Breath Concealment, there is hardly any other possibility.”

”It seems this Master and Servant pair are quite troublesome.”

Upon hearing this, Red ASSASSIN, who was seated on the other side, furrowed his brows. Although they had known that the Black Side’s ASSASSIN had killed Red SABER, most had thought it was just good luck. But now, it seemed that the enemy’s strength far exceeded their expectations. Indeed, if it weren’t for Red ARCHER’s Inherent Skill saving her life, the Red Faction would have seen a third elimination.

”However, regardless, Black SABER has been eliminated as well, which is good news for us. Although another Command Seal was consumed, at least ARCHER is still here safe and sound, and that is enough.”

”I am truly very sorry.”

Hearing the comforting words of the young priest, Red ARCHER bowed her head and solemnly apologized. After all, it was her carelessness that had led to the consumption of a Command Seal, and that was an undeniable fact.

”There’s no need to apologize; it’s not your fault. And besides... now that Black SABER has been eliminated, we should take this opportunity before the enemy can react to start our offensive.”

”Exactly.”

At this point, Red ASSASSIN also revealed a smug smile.

”Since it’s a war, let it be fierce and resounding...”

”That’s easy to say, but you’ve built your castle and prepared for a siege. Why are you now talking like this?”

Red RIDER curiously eyed the woman seated on the throne, Red ASSASSIN—a woman with long black hair in a black gown. She did not at all resemble the typical image of an assassin; rather, she appeared more like a high-ranking queen. In fact, she was exactly that, although summoned in the class of ASSASSIN, it would be more appropriate to call her a ”murderess” than an ”assassin.”

Semiramis—the Queen of Assyria, who poisoned her husband and reigned as Regent Queen over Assyria for decades, a terrifying presence. However, in this Holy Grail War, she not only possessed the authority of an ASSASSIN but also held the capabilities of the CASTER class, making her an exceedingly formidable enemy.

What puzzled the Red Faction’s Servants was that since the Holy Grail War started, Her Majesty the Queen had not engaged in any activities related to an ASSASSIN. Instead, she stayed hidden in the rear, focusing intently on building her own King’s City. If it weren’t for the fact that the Red Faction had indeed summoned a CASTER, they might have even thought she planned to rely on a CASTER’s Skill to create a battlefield fortress.

Hearing Red RIDER’s question, Red ASSASSIN chuckled lightly.

”A siege? RIDER, you are mistaken. My Noble Phantasm ’Vanity’s Aerial Courtyard’ is not meant for defense but for offense.”

Offense?

At these words, RIDER, ARCHER, and LANCER looked at one another, utterly baffled by ASSASSIN’s meaning. Could it be that the castle could sprout legs and run away?

”Alright, ASSASSIN, stop playing coy.”

As the Master of Red ASSASSIN, the young priest gave a wry smile and shook his head.

”Let’s prepare to take action. Now that the Black Side has lost SABER and is busy taming Red BERSERKER, it’s the best opportunity for us. We already lack the advantage in numbers and strength; if we can’t even seize the right moment, things will likely become more troublesome.”

”Understood, MASTER.”

Hearing the command from her young priest, Red ASSASSIN smiled slightly and then stretched out her hand to gently caress the gemstone on the armrest of her throne.

The next moment, the entire castle began to shake.

”What’s going on? What happened?”

Feeling the shaking, the other Servants quickly left the hall and came to the balcony on the outside. They looked around and their eyes widened in astonishment—instead of the dense forest and lake they had been surrounded by moments before, they were now above an expanse of empty sky.

This courtyard, this King’s City, was now hovering in the air!

Seeing this, the young Priest couldn’t help but show an excited smile.

”So, everyone... prepare for the real battle.”

The enormous Aerial Courtyard slowly moved forward, heading toward the Castle of the World Tree...

”This is really over the top...”

Watching the images projected on the screen, Fang Zheng’s eyes widened in surprise, and he whistled appreciatively. During the battle in the forest, just in case, he had set up a Little Ding Dong to keep an eye on the movements of the Servants from the Red Faction. Originally, Fang Zheng just wanted to trace their path back to their base, but unexpectedly he obtained information beyond his anticipation.

Fang Zheng had to admit that the Red Faction had played their trump card this time. Faced with such a City in the Sky, it was clearly improbable for the Black Side’s Servants to bring it down with their power alone.

Of course... it wasn’t entirely so.

”This is a pain... but still, I should inform them.”

Thinking this, Fang Zheng let out a long sigh and then stood up. He walked out of the room, grabbed an Artificial Human by the hand, and gave his order.

”Go inform all of the other MASTERS that the Red Faction plans to push as a group.”

”Yes, sir.”

Although the Artificial Human didn’t quite understand Fang Zheng’s words, he nodded and quickly turned to leave. Meanwhile, Kurumi appeared behind Fang Zheng.

”Do you need my help, Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”No, you just need to take good care of Yoshino and the others here. As long as you don’t act rashly, they shouldn’t attack you. But if those idiots are foolish enough to dare lay a hand on you, then don’t be polite, just show your power and take them down.”

”Really?”

Hearing this, Kurumi smiled and blinked.

”Weren’t you always telling us to hide our strength before?”

”Since they have decided to push through the middle, clearly they want to finish this in one go. Well, I also want to take care of it all at once. If it really works out, then there’s no need to hide our side’s strength anymore. In any case... these kids are in your hands.”

”Don’t worry, but... aren’t you planning to take Little Hei or Illya to the battlefield this time?” freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

”This time it’s different.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng looked out the window at the Artificial Humans patrolling the square below.

”This isn’t a simple battle between Servants; it’s a war between the armies of two factions. They’re both still children, not suitable to witness such a scene.”

”Too much doting will do no good, Mr. Fang Zheng. They can’t live forever under your protection.”

”Baby birds must have strong wings before they can fly.”

With that, Fang Zheng turned and left.

”Take care, then,” he said.

Kurumi stood in the shadows, watching Fang Zheng’s receding back with a smile, then shook her head gently.

”Mr. Fang Zheng is really too doting on those kids... but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. However... sometimes, they have to make decisions on their own.”
