Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Delusional nonsense!”

The Moon God, driven either by the sight of an old foe or by the sting of Fang Zheng’s remarks about passing on the fire, bellowed with rage and lunged towards Fang Zheng with arms outspread.

Facing the Moon God’s attack, Fang Zheng quickly rolled to its left, dodging under the outstretched hands, then swung his sword, chopping at the Moon God’s stubby legs. Feeling the pain from the scorching flames, the Moon God howled, then turned around and swung at Fang Zheng again, but Fang Zheng dodged once more.

While dodging, Fang Zheng did not forget to mock his enemy in front of him.

”Tsk, tsk, tsk, look at those stubby little legs, is this a result of poor digestion leading to malnutrition? So why as a mortal did you think of devouring a god? Look, you still haven’t digested it... Oh, and your tail? I remember it felt quite nice when I chopped it off...”

Speaking thus, Fang Zheng suddenly shifted his position to behind the Moon God and forcefully chopped at the swaying tentacles on its back. Accompanied by a flash of fire and the Moon God’s howls, one tentacle was severed by Fang Zheng and turned to ash in the flames.

”Look at the state of you now, Gwyndolin’s looks are miles better than yours. And you dragged his corpse back only to create this walking skeleton? You were once mortal, did you have no sense of real aesthetics? And you dare call yourself the Moon God? There has to be someone willing to believe it... Is this why you’ve always hesitated to show yourself? I remember you weren’t this shy before, you were so arrogant when you turned into a pile of manure...”

”Shut up!!”

”Look at your fighting style now, tsk, tsk, tsk, I remember back in Yanoel Long you could manipulate Gwyndolin to go ’BIUBIUBIU’ but now what? Other than clawing people, what else can you do? Look at you, how are you any different from a beast?”

”Shut up!!”

With that roar, the Moon God suddenly lifted its head, and then Fang Zheng saw behind it hundreds of filthy, foul-smelling blood shoots blasting towards him. Without any hesitation, Fang Zheng quickly retreated, swiftly moving away from the Moon God. The clumps of stinking filth splattered on the ground, turning the white flowers there completely withered and pitch black.

The Moon God opened its arms and lunged towards Fang Zheng again.

”Aging has taken its toll, huh, Eldritch.”

Watching the huge creature charge towards him again, Fang Zheng shook his head. He then gripped his greatsword tightly and hurled it forward, and suddenly Fang Zheng’s black greatsword split into a long whip entwined with flames, striking hard at the Moon God and smashing its immense body to the ground with a loud ”bang.”

”Aaaahhhhh!!!”

The searing flames quickly spread over the Moon God’s body, ruthlessly consuming it. Feeling the pain from the scorching flames, the Moon God began to roll on the ground, screaming.

”No! Get this damned fire off me! I don’t want to pass on the fire! I don’t want to burn! It’s so hot! It hurts! Let me go! Let me go!!”

The flames attached to Fang Zheng’s greatsword were not ordinary flames, but the true Primordial Fire. It was the last spark saved by the Fire Keeper, reignited with power. Against such flames, few things could resist. Moreover, Eldritch was no ordinary enemy; he was once the King of Salary!

And his body was the firewood for the Primordial Fire!

Hence, when Fang Zheng’s flames came into contact with the Moon God, they spread and burned wildly over its body like dry wood meeting fierce flames. In the blink of an eye, Fang Zheng saw the ”hair” and ”tail” on the back of the monster engulfed by roaring flames, and at this moment, the Moon God was frantically rolling and flapping, emitting a terrifying scream.

”Truly disgraceful, Eldritch.”

Watching the Moon God wailing and writhing before him, Fang Zheng shook his head. He certainly knew why the other was reacting this way, although Eldritch was also a King of Salary, he was not a glorious king. On the contrary, he was a criminal, chosen as the King of Salary to sustain the Primordial Fire only because he had devoured enough beings to possess sufficient power and qualifications to become Firewood.

For such an ogre, the Gwyn lineage could never afford him any decent treatment, let alone expect him to gain respect and recognition from others. All he had to do was lie down and wait for the Primordial Fire to consume his body, enduring endless agony until he was completely turned to Ash.

For Eldritch, it was an endless nightmare and, therefore, when facing Fang Zheng, he would rather abandon Gwyndolin’s body, which he had not completely devoured, and most of his own soul, to avoid once again the fate of being burned as Firewood.

Thereafter, when the Primordial Fire extinguished and the deep sea arrived. Although he lost most of his power, after retrieving his body abandoned by Fang Zheng, Eldritch constantly plotted to resurrect himself. As Fang Zheng had said, this incident in Anan was also orchestrated by him. In fact, years ago, Eldritch had led the Sumerian Civilization to turn against the Ancient God they protected and successfully devoured the body and power of that Abyssal Monster.

After that, Eldritch fell into a lengthy slumber. When he awoke again, he repeated his old tricks, setting his sights on Anan. He first made contact with Master William, who had been injected with the Blood of the Ancient God, but that human seemed to see through Eldritch’s schemes and ambitions, and rejected his seduction.

However, Eldritch did not give up; he led Lawrence to find the Ancient God located in the ruins of the Sumerian Civilization, and by manipulating Ludwig and making a pact with Gehrman, the first hunter of the Church, Eldritch successfully created the Hunter’s Dream. Here, those Ancient Gods would swarm to leave their offspring, and Eldritch could take advantage of the conflict between these Ancient Gods and the hunters to incite their mutual slaughter and profit from it.

Everything went smoothly, but Eldritch did not anticipate that, in the end, the scenario he would face would be like this!

”No, no! Extinguish this flame! I don’t want to burn! I don’t want to pass on the flame!!”

Feeling the scorching flames extending inward from the outside of his body like magma, Eldritch was reminded once again of the terrifying memories he thought he had long forgotten. When the flames vanished and the deep sea arrived, he thought there was nothing left in this world that he feared, not even other Abyssal Creatures. He would absorb their power and become the true Dominator of this world!

But now, that somewhat blurred figure from his memories had appeared before him once again, and... he brought with him the very thing Eldritch feared most!

That was flame!

No, it shouldn’t be like this!

Eldritch raised his head, looking forward, almost everything in front of him was illuminated by the bright red flames. At this moment, the flames were not only burning on Eldritch’s body, rather, they had spread, engulfing the entire cemetery, the withered great tree, and even the houses not too far off, everything enveloped in flames.

”Ah... ah......”

Eldritch watched in horror as a bright red giant moon emerged before him, seeing in his eyes, the edge of the moon started to burn, a line of flame encircling the edge of the Blood Moon, while simultaneously, the center of the Blood Moon began to turn Pitch Black, this was...

”Dark Ring———!! No————! No———!!”

Eldritch’s sanity completely collapsed at this moment, he thought he had forever escaped that nightmare. But now, Eldritch finally realized that fate was like a cycle, all he had done was to move the endpoint of his destiny, but... it had never changed...

”No... I still want to eat... still need to eat more... I haven’t burned yet... I am not...”

Eldritch reached out his hands towards the burning moon in the sky, muttering to himself, as if praying, yet it seemed like he was begging.

However, before he could finish his words, a Greatsword ablaze with fierce flames thrust forward, piercing directly through his head.
