Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 741: Chapter 382: I’m Still a Baby Myself (Part 3)

The old Daoist glanced over and suddenly a flicker flashed in his eyes.

He examined Lawrence Winters’ hand for a while before slowly pointing out, ”...This person is named Kevin Ku. What did you say your new master’s name was?”

”Ian Lothrop.” Lawrence emphasized, ”But he changed his name. His former name was Timothy Graham, and his English name was Kevin. I heard he was abroad for a long time before returning a few years ago. ’Ku’ is the pinyin that people abroad use; it’s the pronunciation of Graham.”

The old Daoist’s eyes widened instantly, his hand trembled, almost knocking over the tea on the coffee table, but he was unaware, gripping Lawrence’s hand, he said, ”What did you say? Say it again? What other name does he have?!”

”Timothy Graham... what’s the matter?” Lawrence quickly moved the teacup away to prevent the old Daoist from knocking it over again.

When she looked up again, the old Daoist had returned to normal.

His expression seemed to be somewhat weary; he yawned and said, ”Oh, in that case, just ask him properly, see if he can help treat your mom’s illness. But I have to remind you, your mom has a fertility issue; it’s gynecological. Don’t think that just because someone can perform surgery, they can cure everything.”

Lawrence thought it was indeed the case, embarrassedly nodding in agreement, ”I understand, I won’t recklessly talk to others about it.”

”Hmm, always discuss things with your mom first, don’t make decisions on your own,” the old Daoist lectured her for a while before letting her go out.

Lawrence did not know, after she left, the old Daoist turned on the computer and repeatedly searched Kevin Ku’s papers, frowning tightly for a moment.

...

The next morning, the large flat was quiet.

Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters, of course, had their doors closed tightly and hadn’t gotten up.

Kenneth Osborne had already gone to work, and the old Daoist went out for a walk and to buy breakfast.

Lawrence didn’t need to work today. When she woke up, Kenneth’s spot beside her was already empty.

She stretched lazily and sat up from the bed.

She remembered she had to attend the Sheldon Family’s little princess’s twenty-first coming-of-age ceremony with Mrs. Fu this afternoon and was genuinely a little excited.

She hoped the ”Emperor and Empress” of the Sheldon Family had some insight and realized she had backing now!

After getting up, Lawrence changed into sportswear and went out running in the residential area.

The time was actually quite late; the morning exercisers had all gone home, and there weren’t many people in the area.

She ran two laps by herself, feeling very happy.

On her way back, she met the old Daoist who was walking and buying breakfast; she happily helped him carry the breakfast box and returned home together.

Upon reaching home, she found Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters already awake and tidying up the decorations from yesterday in the living room.

Lawrence put down the breakfast box and smiled, ”Good morning, Mom and Dad, come quickly and have breakfast!”

Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters put down their work and sat down at the dining table with the old Daoist to eat delicious fish congee and pan-fried buns.

This was bought from that particularly trendy breakfast shop near their community.

Lawrence couldn’t stop praising it and asked the old Daoist, ”Grandmaster, how did you manage to buy them? They sell out so fast; if you don’t get up early and queue, you can’t buy them.”

”Hehe, that’s something you can’t buy. When your old Daoist is involved, one is as good as two; even if they don’t have any, they have to conjure them up for me!”

”Oh, stop bragging.” Lawrence rolled her eyes almost all the way up to the sky.

Nick Zeller, holding a grudge against the old Daoist for yesterday’s sabotage, laughed and said, ”Your grandmaster showed a trick and gave them some feng shui tips, so they’re worshiping him like a god!”

Lawrence tutted twice, ”Grandmaster, with just one tip, you could probably buy out that small shop; but you only managed a reserved breakfast slot. Doesn’t your conscience hurt?”

”My conscience is perfectly fine.” The old Daoist cast a glance at her and then glared at Nick Zeller, ”Miscreant! I’m going to expel you from the sect!”

Lawrence quickly said, ”But my wallet’s a little sore! Please, don’t do that again, your words are as good as silver!”

”Little money-grubber, only cares about money!” The old Daoist was amused by her and stopped bickering with Nick Zeller.

After breakfast, Nick Zeller wanted to take Gabrielle Winters out for a walk, to do some shopping at the mall.

The old Daoist planned to return to his room for a nap, and naturally, Lawrence had to tidy up the dining table.

As Lawrence began stacking the bowls and chopsticks, she said, ”I have to attend a reception with Mrs. Fu this afternoon, and I’ll be back late tonight, so you don’t have to wait for me for dinner.”

”Alright.” Nick Zeller absent-mindedly responded as he put a hat on Gabrielle Winters.

The old Daoist, with his head down, pinched some numbers with his fingers randomly while mumbling incoherently.

After Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters left, the old Daoist turned back to Lawrence and said, ”Your birthday was yesterday; is attending a reception today going to cause a conflict?”

Lawrence was taken aback, ”Can this cause a conflict too?”

”If it’s a commercial party, of course, it doesn’t matter. But if it’s a private party, it might.” The old Daoist solemnly said, ”According to Celestial Path Sect rules, three days before and after your birthday, you shouldn’t attend other people’s private parties; it affects your luck.”
