Chapter 1047: Pimped Out

”Finding out where she wants to take me. I asked her to choose somewhere she’d enjoy.”

”You didn’t suggest anywhere?” Nyx asked.

”I’m the tourist here. Besides, you heard how much she had to say about her hair. Imagine getting her started on somewhere she loves.”

Aria’s fingers worked over his scalp, and he closed his eyes with a contented sigh.

”I’d like that. Just listening to her get carried away explaining things. Hopefully she’ll have fewer complaints about me by then.”

Nyx smiled and kissed his chest again.

”Pretty romantic, actually,” Luna admitted. ”I take back most of what I said about your Casanova credentials.”

”Most?”

”You still got three girlfriends for free.”

”Free?” Aria exclaimed. ”I am an extremely high-maintenance girlfriend.”

”True,” Kaiden, Luna, and Nyx agreed in perfect sync.

”...” Aria pinched his cheek. Kaiden caught her wrist and grinned up at her. She leaned over him until her silver hair curtained their faces, then kissed him upside down while Luna and Nyx watched with matching smiles.

When Aria finally drew back, her lips were pink and her eyes had gone soft.

”I love you, Kai.”

”I love you too, my beautiful moon.”

He turned to kiss Nyx. ”I also love my space babe.”

Then he pulled Luna up by her ass and kissed her until her smug expression dissolved into breathless happiness.

”And I love even my chaotic gremlin.”

”Did he just dare say ’even’...?” Luna nuzzled the fresh bite on his chest.

”I love you too, asshole.”

...

The next morning, after breakfast, Yunohana stood before the mirror in her dressing room while Kaiden’s five lovers inspected the clothes she had laid out for her date.

Alexandra had joined them with a tray of tea. She set it beside the mirror and remained to help, smiling as Bastet held a pale blue dress against Yunohana’s front.

”This color is lovely on you. How does the shoulder feel?”

”Much better. I can dress myself today without assistance.”

”A shame,” Luna remarked from beside the open wardrobe. ”We’re very helpful.”

Yunohana glanced at the garment dangling from her fingers.

”Miss Luna, that is a slip.”

”Yeah?”

”It goes beneath a dress.”

”Seems wasteful.”

Calypso laughed softly as she examined the blue dress Bastet had chosen.

”This one leaves her neck bare. Darling will like that.”

”Mm. And this waist...” Bastet held the fabric against Yunohana, studying her reflection. ”Would you try it? I want to see how the skirt falls.”

Yunohana accepted the dress, pleased by their attention despite the embarrassment of being its subject.

Yesterday she had worried that they would resent her. This morning they were debating which of her clothes would make their man look at her longest.

She could hardly believe how happy that made her.

When she emerged from behind the dressing screen in the blue dress, Bastet approached to straighten the fabric at her waist.

Alexandra offered a seat at the mirror. Yunohana sat, and Aria gathered her hair clear of the neckline.

”Oh, now that’s sexy- I mean extremely tasteful,” Calypso corrected herself.

Yunohana looked at herself, then at the women reflected around her.

”I am rather fond of this one,” Yunohana admitted, smoothing the skirt with visible pleasure. ”The neckline is a little daring for me, though.”

”Such are the sacrifices us women make for love.” Nyx patted her shoulder. ”You’ll survive.”

”That remains to be seen,” Yunohana murmured, admiring her reflection.

Luna studied her from the wardrobe.

”What about the underwear?”

Yunohana’s smile faltered.

”What about it?”

”You picked something hot, right?”

”We are going on a date, Miss Luna.”

”Exactly.”

”I have no intention of showing him my underwear.”

Nyx sipped her tea beside the mirror.

”You can still enjoy knowing you look lovely underneath.”

Yunohana looked from her to Luna, whose expression suggested she was willing to discuss the matter for as long as necessary.

”My underwear is perfectly lovely.”

”Oh?” Luna perked up. ”How lovely?”

”That is a private matter.”

”You can’t say that and expect me to stop being interested!”

Yunohana folded her hands in her lap, attempting to recover some dignity while Aria combed her hair.

”I take considerable care with my appearance. All of it.”

Luna turned toward Nyx with an expression of pure joy.

”Fatty. She’s been holding out on us.”

”I have done no such thing!”

”Miss Milf has fancy undies. Bet it’s the slutty middle-aged women type. The one divorced chicks wear while on the prowl for fresh meat.”

”Miss Luna, please stop...” Yunohana covered her face while Calypso’s laughter joined Nyx’s giggling. Even Bastet looked delighted as she selected a pair of earrings from the case beside the mirror.

”These,” the feline decided, offering them to Yunohana. ”They’re enough with that neckline.”

Yunohana lowered her hands to accept them, then inspected the earrings in the mirror.

”An excellent choice. At least one of you can be trusted with my wardrobe.”

”I found a perfectly good outfit,” Luna protested, still holding the slip.

”For sleeping. Alone.”

Calypso glanced toward the door.

”We should see how darling is doing.”

”Yes,” Bastet agreed. ”I would like to see what he intends to wear beside her. Truth be told, I have my concerns.”

She gave Yunohana’s uninjured shoulder a gentle squeeze before leaving with Calypso, their conversation continuing down the corridor.

”You think Darling messed up?”

”Master has good style. He just might not realize how exceptional Yunohana will look.”

”Gotta match, huh?”

”At least try. It’s his duty as a man. Men who just slap something on while their date took such great care of herself are no men at all.”

Alexandra brought Yunohana her tea. The shrine maiden accepted it gratefully, and the maid bent to check that the dress’s sash lay smoothly behind her chair.

Nyx watched her fuss over their guest.

”You’re being very generous, Lexi. Helping another woman get ahead of you~”

Alexandra looked up so quickly that her blonde hair slipped over her cheek.

”Ahead of me? Nyx, I am only helping my friend get ready.”

”Mm. Very sweetly.”

”There is nothing to get ahead of.”

She tucked her hair back and tried to smile. The denial ought to have been easy. Kai was dear to her, she was happy here, and she had been enjoying helping Yunohana.

Yet Nyx’s teasing left her wondering what it would feel like to be sitting in that chair herself, waiting for him to see her.

The thought embarrassed her enough that she reached for the empty tray.

”Would anyone like more tea?”

Nyx’s expression softened.

”I’m still drinking mine. Come sit with me.”

Alexandra accepted the place beside her. Nyx leaned comfortably against her shoulder and returned her attention to Yunohana, leaving the maid to recover behind her own cup.

Aria laid the comb down.

”How would you like your hair?”

”Loose, please. After all the trouble I took to teach him how to dry it, he ought to see it properly.”

Aria nodded and began arranging the dark hair over Yunohana’s shoulders. The shrine maiden watched her work in the mirror.

”Miss Aria, may I ask you something?”

”Of course.”

”How do you stop fussing over him? I fear I will spend the entire day checking whether he has eaten enough, if he’s enjoying himself, if he thinks I’m boring.”

Aria moved beside her chair so they could look at each other properly.

”I’m afraid you’ve asked the wrong woman. I fuss about everything when Kai is in the picture.”

”You see my difficulty, then.”

”Mm. But I do have one piece of advice. When he offers to do something for you, let him. Even if you could manage it yourself.”

Yunohana looked down at her cup, remembering how carefully he’d held her while massaging her shoulder.

”I did enjoy that yesterday...”

”Then ask him again. Let him take care of you when he offers, and spend today enjoying him instead of trying to become his perfect date. Kai already likes the woman who lectures him about hair,” Aria encouraged her.

Yunohana studied her reflection. Kaiden had asked her out after she lectured him about hair care and fussed over his injuries. He already knew exactly how difficult she could be.

”Then I suppose he may carry my bag,” Yunohana decided. ”And listen to whatever lecture he earns.”

Aria laughed.

”That sounds much better than you fussing over things he’d never even consider.”

Aria bent to hug her, careful of her shoulder, and Yunohana returned the embrace with a grateful smile.

From beside the wardrobe, Luna cleared her throat.

”And push your mommy milkers out sometimes. For good measure.”

Yunohana drew back to look at Luna.

”Miss Luna...”

Aria glanced down at Yunohana’s neckline.

”She does have a point.”

”You too?!”

Aria’s expression was devoid of any humor while she decreed with a flat voice, ”Love is war, Yunohana. We must use all tools in our arsenal to attain victory.”

”Ugh...” The Japanese beauty who found herself far out of her depth could only whimper.
