Death… And Me

Chapter 4182: That I Can Do!

Of the abilities lost, there was the Yin Yang Unbalance Domain, which could reduce everyone’s cultivation levels over an area.

There was also the Dimensional Inversion Gate, the Yin Yang Reversal Seal, the Soul Connection Relay Node, Celestial Destiny Shift, Celestial Clue, Abyssal Path Detector, and, as Roan mentioned, the Yin Yang Body Fusion.

”Now that I think about it, we never had the chance to use the Celestial Destiny Shift even once,” Celis commented.

Roan didn’t seem to care that much. ”It cost a million Celestial Points, after all. We were pretty far away from the amount necessary.”

”In the end, we also didn’t see ourselves completing the Primordial Beasts Quest. Default was supposed to be the last one,” Rean pointed out.

Then, he shook his head, turning to Sister Orb. ”How are you feeling there? You don’t have the Control Orb anymore, and your sentience is kind of simply floating here in the Dimensional Realm.”

[Not too bad,] Sister Orb answered. [I’m basically back to what I was before the system, that is all. It’s just that I’m not attached to anything.]

”We will get you integrated back to Lisan soon anyway,” Kentucky commented.

[Yeah, sure...] Sister Orb didn’t seem all that thrilled. [I don’t know if it’s the best moment to say this, but now that I’m out, I can access all my memories again.]

The twins’ group hasn’t forgotten about it. Sister Orb mentioned how she sealed her memories as the Sentience of Lisan. After such a long time, she had lost any will to live or die. She simply existed. Because of that, she sealed everything except the memory where she knew she was Lisan’s Sentience. That was pretty much like a new life for her.

Over time, a few memories were recovered, some of which helped the twins’ group with their cultivation. However, most of it, the whole eons of observation of Lisan, were still locked down.

Roan didn’t need to think much about it. ”Then make sure to keep it sealed forever.”

[Uh?] Sister Orb was confused. [Wouldn’t you want my memories from Lisan to be open? I probably know a lot about the Vruves, the Werdlem Treasures that appeared there, and many other secrets of the Lisan Universe that would be useful to you.]

Rean shrugged. ”In fact, you should go beyond. Can you completely remove those memories from your soul? That way, you won’t ever remember them again.”

[Why...]

Kentucky cut in. ”Why else? The Sister Orb we know today is the concentration of memories you acquired while living with us. If you release the rest of your memories, would you still be you? One thing is certain. You would likely return to that lifeless husk that didn’t care about living or dying anymore. That’s just sad...”

”Hum?” Rean remembered something. ”Roan, if she did that, wouldn’t she become a lot quieter?”

Roan showed some reaction after hearing that. ”That’s... doesn’t sound all that bad. Forget what I said about keeping your memories sealed. You can release them all now.”

[Fuck you! I don’t want to become that kind of shit!]

”No, no, no!” Rean quickly shook his head. ”Don’t think about it as you becoming a husk without life or death. Think about it as you becoming a... a... Right! As you becoming a sage! Or a Monk! See?! Isn’t that cool?! You can even start your own religion!”

Everyone seemed to love the idea of Sister Orb being a lot quieter once her memories were released... except Sister Orb.

*Zuuuash!*

Then, out of nowhere, the twins saw some of that energy that Sister Orb was made of being cut out, quickly dissipating into nothing.

*arrrghh!*

They only heard a scream of pain and a weak voice that followed. [Fu-Fuck you! D-Done! It is all gone! Who the hell will do as you want?]

”Tch...” Roan clicked his tongue. ”Me and my big mouth...”

[H-Hmph! I’m absolutely not going back!]

Everyone sighed, noticing the chance they lost to make Sister Orb a lot easier to endure... or was it? No one would admit that, but they definitely wouldn’t want that Sister Orb to simply disappear. Whether they wanted to admit it or not, she was still that stinky, annoying glue that somehow kept everyone together.

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

Of course, Rean knew that cutting one’s memories was anything but safe. Sister Orb knew what she was doing, but she also caused some damage to her own sentience and soul. So, he helped heal her soul as he entered the next topic. ”By the way, what do you want to do now, Sister Orb?”

Sister Orb was still feeling the pain, but answered while Rean helped. [Integrating back to the Lisan Universe... I’ve never really thought about it. But then again, it is not like I have any use in my form right now. The knowledge about formations I got from helping Rean during all these years is truly the only good thing going for me.]

Roan looked at her. ”Just make sure you choose something you won’t regret.”

Truth be told, Roan had an idea in mind, but he did not speak of it now to not influence Sister Orb’s own decision.

Celis took the chance to ask something else. ”By the way, Sister Orb. The Control Orb that Default used to escape his prison. That was also our own Lisan Universe Root Egg. It is now destroyed. Won’t it be bad for Lisan?”

[Not really,] Sister Orb explained. [A universe doesn’t need a root egg to start with. Besides, with ours gone, Lisan will eventually give birth to a new one. It’s just that it will take quite some time. The root egg was important in the conception of a new Universe, but that’s about it. Once the Universe is born, the egg is not necessary for its existence. Of course, it is still a very powerful thing. The fact that someone can become a Celestial Realm Expert with it is more than enough proof. If you are worrying about being Lisan’s Owner, that hasn’t changed either, root egg or not.]

Rifindio, for example, was a Celestial now because of the Root Egg of the F956 Universe.

*Clap!*

”Alright,” Rean took over. ”We can talk more about these things later.”

Then, he pointed at the Abyssal Beasts. ”Sister Orb, there is no system anymore, but I can still feel the connection between you and the four of us. That means you can still use our Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, right? How about removing the soul seals in the Abyssal Beasts?”

[Oh! Now, that I can do!]
