Death… And Me

2956  She Agrees

ʼDifferent plane...ʼ Rean had heard about a similar situation before. ʼIt is similar to the Loporrits planet, donʼt you think?ʼ

Roan nodded. ʼOn the surface, it does indeed. However, is this difference between planes the same one as the Loporritsʼ Planet situation? I feel like it isnʼt the same. I think you know why, right?ʼ

Rean was taken aback for a moment and thought about it. Finally, he understood the reason without having to hear it from Roan. ʼThe plane separation of the Loporritsʼ Planet was still a Universe Confined event. However, the Werldlem Empireʼs separation of planes was something that enveloped all of its controlled Universes.ʼ

ʼExactly,ʼ Roan confirmed. ʼThe Loporritsʼ Planet was still inside the Lisan Universe, after all. That separated plane was still a part of Lisan.ʼ

ʼThat makes things a lot more complicated,ʼ Rean sighed. ʼEven if we suddenly get back to the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm, would we be able to leave the plane of the Werdlem Empire?ʼ

ʼThatʼs something for us to think about later,ʼ Roan commented.

Foliana didnʼt know about the twinsʼ conversation and continued her story. ʼEver since then, all external danger disappeared. Inside this plane, the Werdlem Imperial Family has a full grasp of the cultivation energies of all Universes... or so the databases say.ʼ

Rean nodded and then asked something else. ʼAlright, I understand the situation. Tell me, what do you know about the other universes of the Werdlem Empire?ʼ

ʼNot much, really,ʼ Foliana shook her head. ʼYou should have noticed it already, the network of the Werdlem Empire has countless different layers. Someone like me is at the very bottom of it and canʼt have access to much information from outside. All that I know is which Universes are close to ours, thatʼs almost all.ʼ

Foliana then took a deep breath and stopped. ʼSo, did I help you somehow?ʼ

ʼOf course!ʼ Rean nodded, satisfied. They could find more information once their cultivations rise. ʼNow we have an idea of the general situation. Thank you, lady Foliana.ʼ

Foliana smiled brightly. ʼThatʼs great. It always makes my day to be able to speak about history. By the way, why would you be interested in such a topic? This is just a completely different league from people like us. Nothing we will ever do in our lives will have any impact in the great scale of things Universe-related.ʼ

Little did Foliana know how wrong her words were today... and the fact she would be also related to these changes in the future.

Rean laughed in response. ʼHahaha! Of course, because Obelix and I were curious. I mean, you managed to get one of the ten spots to make a wish to the queen. No doubt history is a very important thing, contrary to what most people think. There is no harm in knowing more. Besides, who knows? Perhaps one day, we will be able to leave this Universe. Never say never.ʼ

Foliana laughed as well. ʼHahaha! If I get in a position where I can travel between Universes one day, I will spend the rest of my life learning about the various Universesʼ histories. There is just so much to learn that I canʼt help but get enthusiastic. Well, I know who I am and what Iʼm capable of. I wonʼt hold onto this much. For now, I will content myself to learn more about our country, planet, and my Family.ʼ

ʼOh, thatʼs right,ʼ Rean remembered Folianaʼs wish to the queen. ʼYou said something about looking for information regarding your family or something like that, right? Did you find anything?ʼ

Foliana shook her head. ʼI barely started to read the records. Even if I could absorb all at once with Spiritual Sense, it would still take a very long time to sort through everything in my mind. Well, the more I can study, the happier I am, so Iʼm not complaining. I know I will eventually find what Iʼm looking for in there. It is just a question of time.ʼ

ʼCan I help somehow?ʼ Rean offered, much to Roanʼs displeasure. Rean ignored his grunt, though.

Foliana pondered a bit and nodded. ʼWell, it doesnʼt hurt speaking about it. I will talk about something I already knew before making the agreement with the Royal Family, so it doesnʼt count toward the secrecy request from them.ʼ

She then spoke with a serious expression. ʼThe Nasfivil Family could be said to have founded this country.ʼ

ʼOh?!ʼ Rean got interested. ʼI heard how the next royal family is decided every one thousand years. Were they the first ones to hold this place?ʼ

ʼNot exactly,ʼ Foliana shook her head. ʼBack then, this place was not claimed under the Werdlem Empire banners. You see, even though this Universe is part of the Universes controlled by the Werdlem Empire, it is still a Universe. How ridiculously big is it? It took a very long time before the Werdlem Forces arrived here and added it to the Werdlem Empireʼs network.ʼ

Rean and Roan nodded. Even back in Lisan, there were bound to be many planets in isolated systems that never got in contact with outside life. This one just so happened to be one of such similar planets a while ago.

ʼTo be more precise, it has been only twenty thousand years since the Werdlem Empire arrived,ʼ Foliana continued. ʼBefore that, my Nasfivil Family were the ones controlling this country. At least, thatʼs what is described in the old records of my family. As you can imagine, we have fallen a lot since that time.ʼ

ʼThatʼs to be expected,ʼ Roan finally made a comment. ʼI hardly expect them to have put much of a fight against such an opponent.ʼ

ʼAnd so do I,ʼ Foliana nodded. ʼDonʼt worry, though. Iʼm not interested in revenge, reclaiming what was lost, or any bullshit like that. However, in the records left behind to rot in my familyʼs state, there was a mention of an inheritance that could only be claimed by those with our bloodline.ʼ

Rean smiled. ʼIt is pretty obvious you donʼt have much talent, but you have intelligence and you love history. Let me guess, you want that inheritance so you might cultivate further and live longer to learn even more about history.ʼ

Foliana was taken aback for a moment. ʼYou... are very good at reading people, you know?ʼ

ʼThanks for the compliment,ʼ Rean liked that.

ʼItʼs kinda creepy,ʼ Foliana concluded.

ʼSee? She has known you for less than a day, and she already agrees with me,ʼ Roan added.

Reanʼs mouth twitched as he answered Roan only. ʼJust go fuck yourself.ʼ
