Death… And Me

Chapter 1724 What A Terrible Story

ʼSo, youʼve finally come, huh?ʼ

Kentucky was taken aback as he heard that message. He could tell it was a Divine Sense message, but he couldnʼt feel the Divine Sense, which showed that the other partyʼs cultivation was much higher than his. ʼRight, the Divine Sense bending skill!ʼ

With that, Kentucky immediately activated Reanʼs ability, and what he saw terrified him. As mentioned before, the stronger the Divine Sense, the more obvious it became once it touched Reanʼs skill. The Divine Sense Kentucky was feeling with the Divine Sense bending skill was by far the strongest he had ever seen. Even the experts of the Jhiod Sect couldnʼt hold a candle to it.

Unfortunately, Kentucky couldnʼt endure it anymore and began to fall... or so he expected that would happen. However, some force seemed to catch his body midair and pull it in the islandʼs direction. Not only that, but the pressure that assaulted Kentuckyʼs body also disappeared at the same time. ”Who are you?!”

The voice immediately replied, ʼYouʼll see once you get here.ʼ

Eventually, Kentucky was pulled into the floating island, which wasnʼt affected by the pressure of the Realm of Godsʼ barrier.

The island, other than the fact it was floating in the sky, didnʼt have much difference from a normal one. Some trees here and there, rocks, things like that. However, there was an exception. At the very center, Kentucky could see what seemed to be a feather floating above the ground.

”A Minokawaʼs feather?” Kentucky murmured. It didnʼt matter how he looked at it. Other than its greater size, the feather was pretty much identical to his own.

ʼYouʼre correct,ʼ the Divine Sense voice talked again. ʼCome closer. Let me take a look at you.ʼ

Kentucky narrowed his eyes in response but approached the floating feather nonetheless. He could tell with Reanʼs Divine Sense bending skill that the Divine Sense was still there. Not only that, the Divine Sense was coming from the feather itself. ”A sentient feather? Is that even possible?”

The feather couldnʼt help but laugh, saying, ʼHahaha! Of course not! The feather is from my original body. Itʼs just that I imbued some of my own Divine Sense into it before leaving this place. I knew you would come here one day, so I thought it was better to leave some countermeasures.ʼ

Kentucky was surprised to hear that. ”Imbue Divine Sense? You can leave your own sentience behind through Divine Sense? Thatʼs crazy! No, wait! You said youʼve been waiting for me? Iʼm sorry to disappoint you, but Iʼm most likely not the Minokawa you were waiting for. I came from the Mortal Realm.”

ʼOf course, you did! After all, thatʼs where my wife and I sent our egg. If you werenʼt from there, then you definitely wouldnʼt be the right Minokawa. Besides, thereʼs absolutely no way I canʼt feel the bloodline of my descendant. In fact, you should have been able to feel me as well. After all, thereʼs some remnant of my original bodyʼs blood on the quill of this feather,ʼ the feather explained.

”Ah!” Now Kentucky was truly shocked. ”So thatʼs why my bloodline seemed so excited. You and I are related. No, wait! Doesnʼt that mean youʼre my father?”

ʼThatʼs pretty much the case,ʼ the feather confirmed Kentuckyʼs words. ʼStill, what has happened to you? Whatʼs that feather crown on your head? Itʼs as if you had gone through some mutation or sorts.ʼ

Kentucky shook his head in response. ”Donʼt you think you should be the one to answer my questions first? Letʼs leave aside how you got access to the Mortal Realm or anything like that. Instead, letʼs start with your reason for you and your wife abandoning me on Sunkan Planet. From what I heard, Minokawas were supposed to be very protective of their offspring. Does that sound familiar at all?”

The feather made a nodding motion... although it didnʼt have a head or anything. ʼSigh... I guess youʼre right. We do owe you an explanation. To cut it short, that was your only chance to survive.ʼ

”Survive?” Kentucky narrowed his eyes as he found it absurd. ”Survive what? If not for the two idiots who found me, I might have been dead already.” Indeed, Kentucky still remembered the Sunkan Planet explosion, so he would have died there if the twins werenʼt the ones who took him. Well, the planet also exploded because of their presence...

ʼYou donʼt understand. Itʼs still a lot better than if you had stayed in the Realm of Gods. I had to go to great lengths to enter the Mortal Realm and leave you there. Not only that, I didnʼt even have the time to choose a planet. I just picked the first populated planet I found and left you there before someone noticed what I tried to do.ʼ

”And why exactly would anyone want to kill me? No, wait, did they want to kill you or me?” Kentucky asked back.

ʼYou,ʼ the feather replied. ʼThatʼs because you were conceived with a Regal Minokawa Bloodline.ʼ

”Regal Minokawa Bloodline?” Kentuckyʼs eyes lit up after that. ”I didnʼt know I was some kind of prince.”

The featherʼs Divine Sense almost dissipated from that remark. ʼNot that kind of regality, idiot!ʼ

”Hahaha!” Kentucky nodded. ”Iʼm joking, Iʼm joking. This Regal Minokawa Bloodline is probably some rank higher than normal Minokawas, I presume?”

ʼSigh...ʼ The feather couldnʼt really breathe, though. ʼThatʼs correct.ʼ

Kentucky couldnʼt help but remember Rean and Roanʼs words. ”This seems very cliche, no? Let me guess. One of you must be a Regal Minokawa, while the other is a normal Minokawa. The Minokawas probably have a very strong sense of hierarchy, so the Regal Minokawas couldnʼt accept the mixed blood of a normal Minokawa and a Regal Minokawa. Am I doing well so far?”

ʼWhere did you get that bullshit from? Thatʼs no fun at all,ʼ the feather answered. ʼAlso, youʼre wrong. Iʼve never mentioned you have a mixed bloodline either.ʼ

”Eh?! Was I wrong?!” Kentuckyʼs confidence suffered a hit now. ”Tch, and here I thought I was doing great. In any case... you now have my full attention.”
