Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1086: Unexpected News (1)

The Dark Elf, who was Jacob in disguise with the help of the gluttony mask, couldn’t help but frown slightly when he heard Nyx’s unruly demand.

”If you don’t stay silent, I’ll cut off your vision.” Jacob impassively warned.

”What?! You can’t do that; don’t forget I’ve been cooped up all this time while helping you perfect that little toy of yours and all of that for your cause. So, I deserved this reward, and you can’t snatch it away from me.” Nyx retorted, feeling wronged.

Jacob really wanted to cut his connection with her, but Nyx said nothing wrong, and in the end, he gave in, ”Alright, but stay silent unless it’s not something important!”

”I’m planning to. Who wants to talk with you? Hmph!” Nyx snorted before she stopped talking, probably enjoying the Abyssal Mourne while silently berating Jacob.

Jacob didn’t pay her any extra attention as he sipped on the Abyssal Mourne, planning to enjoy it to the fullest.

The Dark Elf, who had been unlucky enough to be selected by Jacob as his new face, was a Dark Duke of Dark Kingdom known as the ’Dark Star’.

When Jacob arrived in the Great Cosmic Continent of Gemini, Dark Star happened to be in his close vicinity with his entourage, and Jacob was wearing the face of the weak human he had acquired from his last venture in the Ashen Mirage Desert.

Dark Star had a repugnant hobby of torturing those who were weaker than him, and it just happened to be that he never tortured a human or faery humans before, so the moment he saw that ’weak’ human appearing out of nowhere, he wanted to capture him.

However, he had no idea that the human was actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and Jacob was also thinking about how to achieve his goal for which he had come to the Gemini Continent.

So, when Dark Star made a move against Jacob and told his men to capture him to bring him back for his entertainment, Jacob didn’t need to be polite either.

Jacob instantly revealed his true form for only ten seconds. He used soul search on everyone to find Dark Star’s identity, and without hesitation, he changed his disguise while the real Dark Star died in misery and utter confusion as he became part of the Gluttony Mask.

Meeting a Dark Duke right after he arrived in the Gemini Continent could be considered quite lucky for Jacob, as he required someone like this for this endeavor.

As for using his own personal Dark Earl’s status, Jacob didn’t even consider it because he no longer required to use his own Star ID or his real body as a matter of fact.

Jacob also found his way towards Noxvalis City because of Dark Star’s memories and gained a deep understanding of the Gemini Continent and its overlords.

However, Jacob wasn’t in a hurry to start ’working’ again because the Nightmare Plan was still at its initial stage, so he decided to wander one of the biggest cities of the Gemini Continent, and found himself sitting in Prince’s Chalice.

At this moment, Jacob suddenly heard a few burly Ogres in mercenary attire sitting not far away from his seat whispering among themselves. However, he could still listen to their conversations clearly.

Furthermore, what those ogres said piqued Jacob’s interest, or he wouldn’t have bothered listening to them at all.

”Boss, I’ve heard information about the Great War between the Life and Dead Factions, and let me tell you, the situation is extremely terrible, I’m tellin’ ya!”

”What the hell are you being so mysterious about, little punk!? Just tell us!”

”I’ll tell, I’ll tell! You see, the thing is, when the Giant War King challenged the Champion King for a one-on-one duel to decide the outcome of the Great War, just moments before the promised time, something unexpected happened!

”I’ve heard that guy saying that the Great War seemed to have disturbed or awoke some ancient existence hidden within a Forbidden Region of the Sagittarius Continent.

”And ancient existence then furiously makes an announcement that was heard by every being, whether dead or alive. But what happened next was truly shocking, as that existence seemed to have cast a spell and its range seemed to cover more than half of the Sagittarius Continent, or maybe more, since no one dared to confirm its exact area of influence.

”Anyway, that spell was actually a necromancy spell that could turn corpses into undead, and it doesn’t matter when they died or who they are; they can return from their graves. And the most horrifying part is, even those minions under other necromancers rebelled against their master and joined the army of undead that belonged to that mysterious voice!”

The ogres couldn’t help but exhaled sharply when they heard this unbelievable story.

On the other hand, Jacob’s eyes flashed with a hint of uncertainty, clearly not believing them at all since it sounded too ridiculous, and he decided to mind his own business until he heard the next part.

”Look at your faces, you clearly don’t believe me! But let me tell you guys another piece of news that I heard directly from the mouth of a Dark Noble yesterday, and this news is related to this incident.

”Apparently, anyone who was present within the range of that spell couldn’t leave the Sagittarius Continent at all, and no matter where they fled, they couldn’t escape that morbid place, no matter what treasure they used.

”But lucky for them, their Soul Star Watches are still working, so they were trying to seek help from the Neutral Faction and other forces while willing to pay any price. After all, almost 90% of the top forces of the Life Factions are currently trapped within the Sagittarius Continent, making them desperate to escape.

”Moreover, that spell didn’t seem to stop anyone from entering, while one can’t escape when they entered. Furthermore, the Life Faction and Dead Faction seemed to have formed a temporary truce and were working together to resist the undead army.

”Lastly, they also revealed the location where that hidden existence might be hiding...that forbidden region is called the Undead Skyfall Canyons!”

Jacob’s eyes turned cold at this moment, ’Undead Skyfall Canyons are where I dropped Elia when I went to the Ghost Domain. If what these guys are saying is true, then this matter isn’t as simple as they are making it.

’After all, Elia isn’t ordinary, and she also has that Throne of Death, and now this Undead Army’s arrival, it might be related to her. I can still feel the existence of my hex on her, which means she’s alive... Just what is she up to?!’
