Chapter 2896: Actually, I’m Already Taken!

Daozi was doing this to save his junior brothers and sisters. The Eight-Armed Immemorial Demon Venerable was trying to undo the curse on his clansmen. Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven aimed to support a Wielder of the Will to ascend the throne.

So, what were the wishes of Fairy Cheng Lin and the others who had put in so much effort to promote the ‘8.5-term Wielder of the Will Plan’?

“After Fellow Daoist Daozi attains 8.5 Heavenly Daos, I hope you can help me free my best friend who is bound by the Dao of the ancient Heavenly City,” Cheng Goudan replied.

Among the Immortals of the ancient Heavenly City, there were still a few who were bound by the Dao of the Heavenly City and were in a petrified state. Now that the Heavenly Dao had collapsed, even the Celestial Thearch had set up a trap to transform into the Dao and disappear. If he wanted his petrified friend from the Heavenly Court to escape and revive, he could only seek help from the authority of the Heavenly Dao.

“I understand,” Daozi nodded slightly.

This wasn’t the first day he had worked with Fairy Cheng Lin and Slow-Witted Song. He knew they had been working hard to revive a group of close friends from the ancient Heavenly City.

Fairy Cheng Lin’s goal was similar to his and the Eight-Armed Immemorial Demon Venerable’s: they were all trying to save the people they cared about. Similar goals and obsessions always resonated easily.

“Since everyone’s goal has been set, when will the 8.5 Ren Tiandao Project begin?” Daozi asked, already a little impatient to vindicate the 8.5 Heavenly Dao and make up for the flaws of his junior brothers and sisters.

The Eight-Armed Immemorial Demon Venerable also said impatiently, “The sooner we start this plan, the better. Fairy Cheng Lin, what do we need to do for this plan?”

“This plan requires everyone’s cooperation,” Fairy Cheng Goudan said. “I wouldn’t be able to complete it in a short period of time by myself. It’ll take a lot of manpower and resources just to perfect the Dao of the Ancient Heavenly City.”

“In other words, we have to complete the ancient Heavenly City as much as possible?” Daozi lightly tapped on the ❮Confucian Classics❯ as he thought of the fragments of the ancient Heavenly City the scholarly faction had collected. If necessary, he could step forward and ask for the fragment of the ancient Heavenly City. Compared to the thirteen Tribulation Transcenders of the scholarly faction and his junior sister, the fragment of the ancient Heavenly City was naturally less important.

“I have a question,” Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven interjected. “Fellow Daoist Song and Fellow Daoist Cheng, why aren’t you the ones who vindicate the Dao in this plan? Why do you want to drag Daozi along?”

“I have the same doubts,” Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven continued, looking at Fairy Cheng Lin. “The plan requires the ‘perfect Dao of the ancient Heavenly City + Heavenly Emperor.’ Fellow Daoist Song and Fairy Cheng Lin, you control the identity of the ‘Heavenly Emperor,’ right? So why do you have to let Daozi vindicate the Dao instead?”

“Is there a greater hidden danger?” the Great Northern Emperor asked.

“Fellow Daoist Song and Fairy Cheng, if there’s a hidden danger, just tell me. Don’t worry, no matter how great the danger is, I won’t retreat,” Daozi said. As the leader of the thirteen Tribulation Transcenders of the scholarly faction, he had to protect all the scholarly disciples in his master’s absence.

“If the danger is too great and Daozi is unwilling to bear it, I’ll go,” the Eight-Armed Ancient Demon Venerable said.

“No, it’s not a problem of hidden danger. The reason I don’t vindicate the 8.5 Heavenly Dao myself is because of my personal identity,” Fairy Cheng Goudan waved her hand.

The big shots on the statue all looked at Fairy Cheng Goudan in confusion.

“Now that things have come to this, I won’t hide it from everyone anymore,” Fairy Cheng Erdan smiled and said. “Although I became the Jade Lake Empress in the ancient Heavenly City, in fact, I’m a ghost spirit.”

“Ghost spirit?”

“Impossible!”

This was explosive news. If announced, it would become the headline of the myriad worlds!

Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven nodded and said, “No wonder. I’ve always felt that Fairy Cheng Lin’s existence was very strange. I didn’t expect her to be a ghost spirit.”

“Since you are a ghost spirit, how did you attain immortality?” the master of the Titanium Temple asked in puzzlement.

“Because I’m special! I am also the most special part of the ghost spirits. In fact, the Heavenly Emperor of the ancient Heavenly City was also partially made up of ghost spirits. She vindicated her Dao and became the strongest existence after the Scholarly Sage,” Fairy Cheng Lin replied.

The Great Northern Emperor was speechless.

The Celestial Thearch was also a ghost spirit?

Why didn’t our Four Great Emperors notice this?

” It’s precisely because I’m a ghost spirit that I can’t vindicate immortality. If I do, it will affect the existence corresponding to me,” Fairy Cheng Lin continued to throw out explosive news.

“Affect the corresponding existence? Fairy Cheng Lin, are you currently ‘taken’?” The Eight-Armed Immemorial Demon Venerable was in disbelief.

It was one thing for Cheng Lin to be a ghost spirit, but she actually had an owner? Which fairy in the myriad worlds had the strength to become Fairy Cheng Lin’s main body? Everyone knew that the form and gender of a ghost spirit corresponded to its main body. Since Cheng Lin had the body of a fairy, the person corresponding to her should also be a fairy.

“Interesting. Fairy Cheng Lin, you said earlier that you don’t want to affect your main body. In other words, your main body’s goal is the ninth Wielder of the Will, right?” Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven speculated. “You didn’t vindicate the 8.5 Wielder of the Will because you were worried it would affect your main body’s vindication of the 9th Wielder of the Will?”

“Yes, it’s mainly because of this,” Fairy Cheng Lin nodded.

“Then, was this 8.5 Heavenly Dao plan also proposed by your main body?” Daoist Priest Scarlet Heaven continued to ask.

“No, he doesn’t have the ability,” Fairy Cheng Lin shook her head. “In fact, our state is different from that of ordinary ghost spirits and their main bodies. We have always acted independently since ancient times. He knows nothing about our operation and plans.”

“Fairy Cheng Lin, can you tell us who your corresponding ‘main body’ is?” Daozi asked.

“Yes, it’s someone everyone knows. But please allow me to keep it a secret for now. Soon, everyone will know,” Fairy Cheng Goudan said.

Everyone fell into deep thought.

“In addition, there’s another reason. In the process of freeing the fellow daoists bound by the Great Dao of the ancient Heavenly City, we need a ‘substitute’ to replace those fellow daoists. We used our own division as the foundation to create a batch of substitutes. This segment requires us to take action. This is also why we can’t replace the 8.5-point Heavenly Axiom,” Fairy Cheng Goudan explained.

They needed to use their clones to replace their close friends from the ancient Heavenly City.
