Papa Song was taken aback by the thunder.

He could sense that it was different from the usual thunder. However, he could not pinpoint what the difference was.

Regardless, this thunder was very strange!

It was not only him, as Mama Song felt the same way.

The couple looked at each other, and they both noticed the surprise in the other’s eyes. Then, they both smiled, quietly moving their gazes away from each other.

“Recently, it has always been like this in the Jiangnan area; inexplicable claps of thunder just come by every now and then. However, there’s no need to worry. It should be over soon,” Papa Song’s friend explained. In recent months, sudden thunderstorms like this had been appearing quite frequently. Everyone who was from the area had already gotten used to it.

Sure enough, just like Papa Song’s friend said, the thunder stopped after a few seconds.

The several friends who had not been together for a long time resumed their chatting.

As they talked and talked, the topic went back to their children.

This was the price of age. After reaching a certain age, children often became an important part of one’s life. So when they chatted, they would often come back to this topic.

A few of Papa Song and Mama Song’s good friends had children who were a few years older than Song Shuhang, so they had already reached the stage of discussing marriage.

As such, the topic went to that of their children’s marriages.

“Old Song, does your Shuhang have a girlfriend yet?” at the table, someone asked all of a sudden. “You were quite wild and got married when you were still in college. Your son shouldn’t be much different than you in this regard, right?”

“Hahaha… Probably?” Papa Song himself was not sure.

Song Shuhang had brought several girls to their home as guests, but neither he nor Mama Song knew which one of them was Shuhang’s girlfriend or if any of them was actually his girlfriend.

“What do you mean by ‘probably’? Does he not have a girlfriend yet?” Someone laughed and said, “If he doesn’t, then why don’t we become in-laws?”

“Didn’t your eldest daughter get married long ago? And your youngest is still in middle school.” Papa Song laughed as he added, “Wouldn’t that be a crime?”

The group of friends kept chatting, and they changed topics every now and then.

During this time, someone had come by the window of their room and opened it to vent the air.

“Huh?” When the window was opened, this friend of Papa Song curiously looked at the sky in the distance.

In the sky, there was a dense group of dark clouds, and it looked like a thunderstorm was coming. There was lightning flashing amidst the dark clouds… but strangely, there was not a single clap of thunder.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the dark clouds in the sky disappeared. The sky outside was bright and clear again.

“What’s going on? I didn’t drink that much…” The man rubbed his eyes and looked out the window again.

Suddenly, the sky was filled with dark clouds again, and there were bright flashes of lightning.

In the next moment, the sky was bright and the sun was shining down on the earth again.

The two contrasting scenes seemed to be repeatedly switching with one another.

He quickly took out his phone and began taking a video of the sky.

However, what appeared in the phone’s video recording was just an ordinary scene of a blue sky and white clouds.

“How much did I drink?” Papa Song’s friend turned his head and asked.

“About three glasses,” Papa Song replied.

The friend said, “That’s strange. That means I shouldn’t be drunk. All of you, come here and have a look.”

“What’s there to see?” The people in the room got up one by one and crowded the small window.

“I don’t see anything special. Isn’t it just an ordinary blue sky and white clouds?”

“Blue sky and white clouds? Wait a minute, what I see from here are dark thunderclouds…”

“I also see a blue sky and white clouds. There doesn’t seem to be anything unusual.”

“Wait, I blinked and the view changed!”

Papa Song and Mama Song also leaned over and looked up at the sky.

After trying several angles, Mama Song said, “It seems to be an angle issue. When viewed from certain angles, it will look like there are dense thunderclouds in the sky; from some other angles, it looks like the sky is blue and littered with white clouds; while from some other angles, it looks like the view outside is switching between two scenes.”

“Is it a mirage?”

“Could it be a large projection?”

No matter how one looked at it, this was not normal.

Papa Song also took out his camera and pointed it at the sky to record a video. However, the only thing that appeared on the phone’s screen was a blue sky with white clouds.

Papa Song frowned slightly.

“They’re getting closer. Those dark clouds are getting closer to us!”

“Should we try to avoid it? It feels like something bad will happen if it reaches us.”

“Wait, is there someone underneath the dark clouds? Am I seeing things?”

Papa Song put down the phone and looked at the sky directly.

Sure enough, under the strange dark clouds, there was a figure running wildly in the air. The figure was wearing a strange pair of shoes that appeared to be constantly spewing air.

It looked like it was those shoes that allowed the figure to fly in the air.

The dark clouds locked onto the figure wearing the strange shoes, following him like a shadow.

“Is it some new technology?”

“Are those jet shoes?”

“The dark clouds are getting closer… Oh, that guy is quite cool.”

Lightning kept on flashing in the dark clouds, but there was no thunder. It was completely silent for them. It was as if the lightning had turned on silent mode.

The young man moved in the air deftly, allowing the lightning to speed past him. After dodging one bolt of lightning, he would continue running wildly in the sky.

This scene looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.

The strange thing was that no matter whether it was a mobile phone, a video camera, or some other kind of video recording equipment, none of them could capture the figure in the sky. The only thing their equipment captured was a blue sky.

The guy avoided eight lightning strikes in a row but was struck by the ninth.

The ninth lightning strike hit his body directly.

After getting struck by the lightning, the young man fell from the sky.

At this moment, another figure rose up into the sky. He stretched out his hand toward the air and took the man who had been struck by the lightning away from the downtown area.

Papa Song and Mama Song’s eyes widened.

“Old Song, was that your son in the sky?”

“Ah… Yeah, it looked like him.” Papa Song was confused.

The figure that had risen into the sky was indeed Song Shuhang.

He was obviously very far away, and none of them could see his face clearly. However, when they watched him rise into the sky, everyone in the room, for some reason, was certain that this figure was Song Shuhang.

None of them had praised Shuhang that much, so why did he literally skyrocket?

❄️❄️❄️

In the sky, Song Shuhang jumped up and said, “Senior Chu, are you ready?”

“Yup. We only need to add some new hypnotic effects to the illusory formation in place to achieve the desired effect. It is very simple and should not have much impact on the people below.” Pavilion Master Chu’s voice sounded from her strand of hair, which swayed lightly in the air.

Then, small bits of light scattered from the strand of hair.

All of those who were paying attention to the “sky” saw these tiny dots of light.

In the next moment, in the area where the dark clouds were, cameras, fly rigging systems, smoke machines, and so on appeared.

“Oh, it turns out that they’re shooting a movie.” This thought emerged in everyone’s minds.

When Pavilion Master Chu, an Immortal-level powerhouse, took action, the resulting hypnotic effect was especially effective.
