Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2089 Demigod of the Heavens Faith Sect, Battle to the Death

Unaware of the fact that he had been marked as a devoted junior in the eyes of the Holy Light Disciple that had guided him to the merit hall along with the rest of the awaiting bestowal disciple because of the fact that he had been entirely focused on trying to find a weakness within the demigod that he would be able to advantage of, Xuan Hao continued silently observing the demigod before him. Feeling a hint of admiration gazing up at the towering body of the other party that seemed to exude a seemingly overwhelming power that caused even someone powerful like himself to feel a sense of helplessness.

The sheer power of this feeling alone was more than enough for him to determine that the strength of this demigod wasnʼt just comparable to the Star Creation Realm but had likely surpassed the earlier stages of the realm and might even have reached the latter stages. Approaching the Venerable Realm.

Facing this kind of terrifying existence, he simply didnʼt know how he would ever be able to kill the other party even if he somehow managed to find a weakness to take advantage of. After all, the difference in strength was simply far too great.

And so, over the next five hours, he found himself aimlessly wandering through the holy sanctum looking for a weakness that he would be able to take advantage of while silently placing hidden formations on the remaining foundation pillars of the Heavens Faith Sect Guardian Formation.

”In the end… I couldnʼt find any weakness to take advantage of…”

Unfortunately, as he felt the soul back in the branch sect starting to rapidly collapse, unable to keep it in a stable state any longer, he hadnʼt found any weakness within the demigod of the Heavens Faith Sect that he could take advantage of during the upcoming battle.

Maybe this was to be expected, as it was nothing short of delusional to think he would be able to find the weakness of a demigod without even using his divine sense, but it was ultimately the only method he could muster without directly drawing the attention of the demigod onto himself.

At the very least, this would be a great opportunity to test out just how powerful a demigod truly was, as he had a feeling, he might end up facing similar beings in the future when clashing with different religions during sect expansion.

RUUUUUUMBLE-!

Of course, to ensure he would have the first strike opportunity, he didnʼt wait for the soul back in the branch sect to collapse before making a move and instead directly detonated the small hidden formations attached to the foundational pillars that held up the guardian formation of the Heavens Faith Sect, causing the entire sect to shake violently as the guardian formation that had once covered the sect collapsed within a few short seconds-

”What is happening!?”

”The- The guardian formation- Impossible!”

”Is… Is the sect under attack!?”

”Who dares! Donʼt they fear the wrath of the holy lord!?”

”Argh! The foundation pillar! It landed on top of me! Help!”

”I canʼt brother, itʼs made of meteoric mystical metal, I canʼt lift something like that with my current strength…”

Startling every member of the Heavens Faith sect, from juniors who had just recently joined the sect to seniors who had been in seclusion for hundreds of thousands of years. After all, the Heavens Faith Sect hadnʼt been attacked since the ancient war between gods of the ancient era, a time that none of the current members of the Heavens Faith Sect had experienced, something that resulted in none of the members of the sect knowing what to do as everyone collectively descended into a state of panic.

The existence of the Heavens Faith Sect was sacred, and none had dared to challenge it, let alone launch such a deadly attack towards their main sect. The only reason the senior members could think of and the reason why they had joined the panic of their juniors, was that the one launching an attack was an old god and enemy or their god who had survived and had been silently lurking in the darkness waiting for an opportunity to strike…

RUUUUMBLE-!

BOOOOOM-!

A thought that was confirmed in their mind, as a spatial storm suddenly tore through the towering figure of light at the very core of the Heavens Faith Sect, followed by the light exploding outwards in an attempt to directly contend against the spatial storm to no avail as it was being rapidly consumed by the expanding void that had opened up within the Heavens Faith Sect.

In fact, this wasnʼt a spatial storm, but instead the strongest ability Xuan Hao was currently capable of wielding thanks to his comprehension of the Dao of Space and his Stellar Dao Body and the divine void eyes that had been awakened through it, a true spatial collapse.

With his growing strength and increased understanding of the Dao of Space, the scope of this ability was already incomparable to what it was in the past and had now reached the level where he would be able to utilize it with far less preparation beforehand, while at the same time also gaining the ability to guide the direction of the collapse instead of having it spread in all directions randomly. Using the time before the demigod realized what was happening to collapse space and guide the collapse to engulf its towering divine body. Knowing very well that this was the only real method he had that would stand any chance in the face of this kind of powerful being.

RUUUMBLE-!

Still, even as half of the divine body was swallowed up by the collapsing space, the demigod was far from defeated as it directly confronted the expanding space and forced it to standstill by forcibly taping into its powerful Dao of Light to resist the collapse head on. Not taking long before the light began pushing back the collapsing space and forcibly mending the broken space into a rift made entirely of light.

This… Is this the strength of a demigod…?

Watching this kind of terrifying display of power, Xuan Hao couldnʼt help silently swallowing as he felt his own strength rapidly draining away as he attempted to contend with the overwhelming light on the other side.

Even though he relied on the collapsing space to fight back and didnʼt face the demigod on his own, he still felt the strength of the demigod being transferred back through his connection to the collapsed space, as the Dao of Light used by the other party was seemingly forcibly rewriting the rules of the collapsed space and forcibly changing it to a realm made entirely out of light where the demigod ruled and he had no ability to resist.

This kind of ability was downright terrifying, as it made his Dao of Space seem completely useless as the rules that governed space were being forcibly rewritten by the light of the demigod.

An ability like this didnʼt belong to the Perfection Realm of the Dao of Light and had almost certainly stepped into the Origin Realm. Not just that, but he had a feeling that it went beyond just reaching the Origin Realm in the Dao of Light.

A demigod… Worthy of being an existence close to the Venerable Realm, he stood little to no chance fighting back against the other party and could only barely hold his own for now relying on the terrifying power inherent in a spatial collapse. Relying entirely on his divine void eyes to even contend with this terrifying demigod.

The confrontation itself having already erased the holy sanctum below, with only the disciples and senior lucky enough to find themselves outside the holy sanctum still alive as they were doing everything in their power to escape from the Heavens Faith Sect and avoid getting caught up in the terrifying confrontation between their god and what they perceived to be some kind of ancient god that had remained hidden waiting for an opportunity to strike.

The destruction in question mainly stemming from the demigod, as the other party clearly didnʼt bother holding back to allow those below to escape while confronting him. Showing just how much this god valued his believers in the face of a real threat to his life.

Hm? The light is weakening…?

But as the confrontation continued and Xuan Hao felt his end drawing near with the light now having reached within a hundred meters of where he was standing, he suddenly felt the light weakening significantly, as if his enemy had suddenly run out of strength. Allowing the collapsing space to rapidly seize the opportunity to strike back and overwhelm the realm of light that had been crafted by the demigod.

”CURSE YOU, OUTSIDER!”

Everything happening far too fast, as the demigod that had originally been about to kill him was swallowed up by the wave of collapsing space just after letting out one last reluctant roar filled with an endless range of emotions but most deeply represented by an overwhelming anger.

One second, he was losing and the next, the demigod was erased from existence by the still expanding collapsing space. Leaving him without any way to fully comprehend what had just happened.

The only reason he could think of was that the injurie the demigod had suffered meant it could only utilize its full strength for a short period of time before entering a weakened state.

Normally, this would mean certain death for anyone at the Land Creation Realm, but relying on the collapsing space bearing the full brunt of the demigodʼs attack, he had somehow been able to survive long enough for the hidden injuries of the other party to flare up and ultimately spell the end before he was consumed by the realm of light.
