Thumb thumb!

The interior of the small boat suddenly became quiet as the man from the Ghost Howl Sect scanned over Chu Yang and Qing Yi, along with the rest of the passengers sitting close to them with a frown slowly making its wat onto his face.

”I-is there anything wrong…?” One of the passengers could not calm down, as he suddenly stood up and asked the man from the Ghost Howl Sect the moment, he was about to pass by him.

Raising his eyebrows at the question of the nervous man, the man from the Ghost Howl Sect narrowed his eyes even further as he closely inspected the small group of passengers along with Chu Yang and Qing Yi.

”Hm? I just thought I saw someone familiar among the passengers and… It looks like there is indeed someone my Ghost Howl Sect has been searching for!” Finishing what he said, both Chu Yang and Qing Yi grew extremely nervous as they prepared to knock out the two people from the Ghost Howl Sect before taking control of the small boat and escaping.

At the very least, there was no way the Core Formation Expert would dare to follow them if they managed to get out on the lake!

If he really did continue to chase after them by jumping into the Pure Heart Lake by himself… Well, he would have to deal with whatever demon beasts that might be lurking beneath the surface. Waiting for their next meal to show up…

As Chu Yang and Qing Yi were both tightly gripping the handle of their weapons. Prepared to fight with the two members of the Ghost Howl Sect before trying to make an escape by taking over the small boat, the man from the Ghost Howl Sect suddenly grabbed onto a man sitting just in front of the two!

”Argh! H-how did you recognize me?”

”How could I forget you?! I still remember how you scammed me out of all my spirit stones back in the Pure Heart City! Do you know how much pain you caused me when my junior sisters asked me to go out and have fun. Only for me to be too broke to even go out and buy a simple meat bun!?”

Bang!

The man sitting in front of both Chu Yang and Qing Yi was suddenly pulled away from his seat before being thrown onto the floor violently.

”Hehe, I searched for you through the entire Pure Heart City… Only for you to hide away over at the Pure Heart Island! Looks like it was indeed a bit of good luck on my side that the sect decided to search everyone leaving the Pure Heart Island…” Smiling happily as he began dragging the man towards the entrance leading out of the small boat.

”I hope you wonʼt blame the Ghost Howl Sect too much for this short inspection…” The other man from the Ghost Howl Sect chuckled quietly to himself upon seeing his friendʼs behaviour before also turning around to leave.

Clearly, he was already aware of the incident and had even ended up benefiting quite a bit due to it, as the junior sisters in question had instead come to look for him after his friendʼs refusal to join them…

””Hah…””

Watching as the two disciples from the Ghost Howl Sect left with the man that had just sat in front of them, Chu Yang and Qing Yi could not help letting out a simultaneous sigh of relief.

At least for now, it looked like they had escaped the Pure Heart Island safely without needing to expose their identity or call for their masters help through their communication talismans!

It would simply be way too embarrassing if they had to call their master for help during their first ever sect mission and they were almost certain that doing something like that, would most likely result in them not getting another opportunity to go out and explore the world outside the Flying Sword Sect before reaching the Core Formation Realm…

Yes… That was it, they totally didnʼt forget the fact that they could just call their master for help through their communication talismans through the entire encounter with the blue spiders and the Ghost Howl Sect… In the first place, it would also take their master some time to reach them.

After all, the River Sect was not located right next to the Flying Sword Sect and given that it had taken them several days to reach while riding on a demon beast, their master would definitely not have the ability to instantly appear in front of them the moment they called for help…

Swish~

Having been searched by the two men from the Ghost Howl Sect, Chu Yang and Qing Yi both smiled happily at each other as they felt the boat slowly beginning to move away from the Pure Heart Island and towards the Pure Heart City.

No matter what, there was no way the Ghost Howl Sect would dare completely stopping the traffic between the Pure Heart Island and the Pure Heart City.

Not to mention the fact that the River Sect was the rightful owner of the island and city, the other sects that banded up with the Ghost Howl Sect to supress the River Sect, would salivate at every opportunity to cause trouble for the Ghost Howl Sect and try to get a few more opportunities for their own sects…

…

”Are you sure this will work…?”

At the same time back in the Flying Sword Sect, Feng Chen had just recently gotten back together with Zu Fei when Elder Song had rushed into his pavilion and presented a large scroll filled with row upon row of densely packed words.

”Yes! If we do this, we will be able to increase the loyalty of the different sects inside our territory and at the same time increase our control over our territory as a whole! You should already know, outside the few important locations like spirit stone mines and places where spiritual herbs grow, we donʼt really have any idea about the overall situation of our territory…”

”But… Are you sure the elders will be fine with this…?”

Looking down on the scroll that Elder Song had presented to him, Feng Chen could not help but ask with a worried expression on his face.

If they really went ahead with Elder Songʼs plans, the elders of the sect would need to be spread out to take up different governing positions neatly set up by Elder Song in different places around their territory.

Feng Chen worried that elders might riot if he suddenly split them up like that… After all, those old people seemed to enjoy spending their time together… Lazing around while spending the sectʼs resources… Swarming both him and Elder Song with their requests for help whenever they ended up arguing with each other…

”Never mind, we will go ahead with your idea… This way, the sect will also be able to utilize the fact that we have so many elders at the Core Formation Realm. Instead of just letting them stay in here to fade away with time…”

Thinking about a few rather unique requests that had appeared after waking up, Feng Chen decided to agree with Elder Song.

”Good! At the moment, I only plan for the younger elders at Core Formation Realm Experts to take up this task for now. From what I have seen, there is more than enough of them to cover our current territory according to the way I divided it up and we can at the same time allow for the older elders just laying around all day, to instead spend some time teaching the outer and inner disciples of the sect! No need to worry about them refusing, I will personally make sure that they will agree!”

”You already thought way ahead of me, so I will just allow you to handle the situation as you see fit! This is a great opportunity for our Flying Sword Sect to expand our scope of influence over the surrounding territory!” Nodding his head while listening to what Elder Song said, Feng Chen did not hesitate in the slightest as he allowed Elder Song to implement his desired changes to the territory of the Flying Sword Sect.

”Yes, Sect Master!” Bowing his head respectfully upon hearing what Feng Chen said, an evil smile slowly made its way onto Elder Songʼs face as he made his way out the Sect Masterʼs pavilion.

Whoosh!

”I Hope he wonʼt be too harsh on them…”

Looking at the departing figure of Elder Song, Feng Chen suddenly began feeling bad for the elders of the Flying Sword Sect… But there was no use in him feeling bad for them.

After all, the elders of the sect had indeed grown quite a bit lazy over the past few years and a quick whipping by Elder Song and a reorganisation of the sect before they began merging with the Spring Flower Sect was sure to bring them back into action in no time at all.

At least Feng Chen hoped that the elders of the Flying Sword Sect would not end up embarrassing him when compared to the elders of the Spring Flower Sect…

From what Shu Yao had said during their talk of merging the two sects, Feng Chen was very well aware of how proud she was of her elders…

”Hah…”

Thinking about the state of his own elders, Feng Chen could not help but sigh to himself.

Maybe he should also join Elder Song…?
