Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Inside of the memories of the senior from the Heavens Faith Sect who had ended up in his hands, he saw the god of the Heavens Faith Sect within the very core of the main sect of the Heavens Faith Sect. the figure of this god wasn’t something this senior had truly laid his eyes upon, as all he had ever been able to see was a towering figure in a seated position shrouded in a layer of light that made it impossible for him to discern anything about the true appearance of this god.

Back then, this senior had not yet been dispatched to the branch sect and had spent his time training as a young disciple of the Heavens Faith Sect. Spending over twenty thousand years within the main sect praying towards the godly figure located at the very core of the sect every single day with every second outside of praying being spent on improving his cultivation.

It was only after these twenty thousand years within the main sect of the Heavens Faith Sect that he was finally dispatched to the branch sect where he now found himself. Only ever returning to the main sect once to break through to the Celestial Immortal Realm with guidance of the heavenly god.

As for what this guidance entailed? He had no idea, as that part of his memories had seemingly disappeared completely, like they had been deliberately erased by some great power.

Following along the thoughts of the senior from the Heavens Faith Sect following his breakthrough to the Celestial Immortal Realm and his conversations with other senior members from the Heavens Faith Sect after he had broken through to the Celestial Immortal Realm, it became clear that he himself wasn’t aware of the guidance he had received nor how he had even managed to break through to the Celestial Immortal Realm in the first place.

In response to this, the senior members of the Heavens Faith Sect had all reassured him that this was normal and everyone else was in a similar situation after their breakthrough to the Celestial Immortal Realm, something that he himself had found quite odd at the time considering how those different powers beneath the Heavens Faith Sect had all broken through to the Celestial Immortal Realm normally.

Of course, given that these subordinate powers were generally viewed as lesser because of the fact that none of them could break through to the Celestial Lord Realm, he hadn’t thought to deeply about it and instead just believed that the differences in their breakthrough to the Celestial Immortal Realm had to do with them following a flawed path that didn’t have the guidance of the heavenly god.

Understandable as this might have been to this junior from the Heavens Faith Sect who had just stepped into the Celestial Immortal Realm at the time, it was highly unusual for someone like Xuan Hao who understood just how odd this kind of breakthrough to the Celestial Immortal Realm truly was. After all, through the memories, it essentially looked like this person had just closed his and then reached the Celestial Immortal Realm the next second.

Even accounting for the lost memories, the breakthrough itself had at most taken thirty seconds or maybe even less time than that, something that by all means shouldn’t have been possible considering how big the gap between the Dao Seed Realm and the Celestial Immortal Realm was… And that was without even mentioning the fact that his cultivation base had been completely stable after this kind of rapid breakthrough to the Celestial Immortal Realm. Showing not the slightest sign of instability, as he had essentially resumed his normal life for a few days before being sent off to the branch sect.

Whatever this heavenly god had done within those few seconds wasn’t something he could understand, but it didn’t mean he was entirely without options when it came to investigate some potential ways it had accomplished something like this. The first thing he thought about being that the heavenly god had used some kind of faith based technique to elevate the cultivation of its followers, something he knew existed within the different religions on the Ewaria Continent, but no matter where he looked with his divine sense, there wasn’t any kind of symbol or mark on the body of the man.

After all, though techniques like this didn’t have any flaws he knew about when it came to the foundation itself. The only clear flaw that was well known was the fact that one would be branded by the god after having their cultivation elevated in this kind of manner.

No brand or symbol visible, he instead turned his attention towards the soul he had already forcibly seized and read through like an open book. Shifting his attention towards the very depths of the soul in search of some kind of similar brand or symbol that might have been placed within the depths of the soul, a place that wouldn’t normally be visible even to the cultivator himself. Relying on his powerful divine sense and lack of care for the stability of the other party’s soul to dwell far deeper than the victim in question would have ever dared to think about doing on his own.

The predictable outcome being the immediate destabilization of the soul that was already on the brink of collapse following the earlier forcibly soul search.

But even with the soul on the brink of collapse, Xuan Hao continued pressing forward until a change finally emerged within the very depths of the soul, a small symbol in the shape of a grey sun. The main symbol of their god that was used by the Heavens Faith Sect throughout their buildings and areas of worship.

What terrifying power…

However, the thing Xuan Hao was concerned with wasn’t the existence of this symbol located within the depths of the man’s soul, but instead the terrifying fluctuations that were barely discernable around the symbol. Even without meeting this god in question, through the small soul brand, he became certain that the strength of this heavenly god wasn’t just at the Celestial Lord Realm but had surpassed it. Reaching a realm above the Celestial Lord Realm and the Land Creation Realm.

Not just the Star Creation Realm, but something beyond that he couldn’t fully understand just through this one symbol alone.

But one thing was clear to him, destroying the Heavens Faith Sect was going to be far from simple. Not just that but even killing the man whose soul was now within his complete grasp and in the process of collapsing wasn’t going to be as simple as he had originally believed it to be. Feeling that the second the soul collapsed, the terrifying power within that symbol in the depths of his soul would notice.

Or in other words, the heavenly god within the depths of the Heavens Faith Sect would notice the second this follower of him or her perished… And with just how terrifying this existence was, he understood that his current comprehension of the Dao of Space wouldn’t be anywhere near enough to help him escape alive.

If anything, he would be lucky to even make it out of the branch sect before the other party arrived…

Whoosh~!

Because of this, without the slightest bit of hesitation, he wasted no time forcing his divine sense back out of the already crumbling soul before rapidly setting up a formation to forcibly stabilize the soul before it could fully collapse. Forcing it into a kind of stasis that would keep it from collapsing immediately.

Unfortunately, with just how unstable the soul had become and his own lack of understanding when it came to the Dao of Souls, he was only able to delay the inevitable and buy himself a few hours before the soul would inevitably collapse on its own.

Although this would be more than enough time for him to escape the branch sect and avoid being attacked by the terrifying heavenly god behind the Heavens Faith Sect, he also understood that there would be no way for him to take down the Heavens Faith Sect once that terrifying being became aware of his existence and began hunting him down using the Heavens Faith Sect already in control of the entire small world.

For this reason, if he wanted to stand a chance at destroying the Heavens Faith Sect, he would have to do so before the soul of the man collapsed and alerted the heavenly god behind this terrifying sect.

After all, given this should still be a challenge someone at the Land Creation Realm could accomplish, he believed that the heavenly god might be in some kind of unique state where following a certain path could allow him to take it down even with his strength being far below it.

Problem was, he was now finding himself with only a few hours to find this path before the heavenly god in question became aware of his existence and began guarding against a potential attack. Possibly sealing off the path to completing the challenge in the process and making it impossible for him to clear the twenty seventh floor of the tower with his current strength.
