”Wha-”

Whoosh!

Before Huang Yongyu could even manage to react to what was happening, he suddenly found himself being dragged into the air before finding himself face to face with the two disciples from the Flying Sword Sect that he had just parted ways with a short time ago.

”Are you okay?”

”Looks like you got beaten up quite badly…”

Happily waving at their friend from the River Sect before discovering the different wounds that had appeared after his fight with the disciples from the Ghost Howl Sect, Chu Yang and Qing Yi both asked out of concern.

”I-I’m fine, but-”

How had he ended up floating mid-air with Chu Yang and Qing Yi all of a sudden?

Just as Huang Yongyu was about to ask this, he noticed Xuan Hao standing a short distance away from him with his hands behind his back and a serene look on his face.

”You are Huang Yongyu?”

”Y-yes!”

Hearing him talk, Huang Yongyu felt himself become extremely nervous all of a sudden when he felt an invisible pressure sweep over him, that almost prevented him from speaking.

Even if he had no idea who Xuan Hao was, he still realized that he was an extremely terrifying cultivator and given that he was together with Chu Yang and Qing Yi, Huang Yongyu quickly deduced that he should be a member of the Flying Sword Sect’s older generation.

Was the Flying Sword Sect always this scary…?

Thinking this, Huang Yongyu quickly looked away from Xuan Hao with a fearful expression on his face. Some experts would find the act of someone looking straight at them offensive and he dared not continue doing that in case Xuan Hao was one such person.

”I heard a bit about you and your sect from my disciples on my way here and will inform the Flying Sword Sect’s elder in charge of these kind of things, to look into it and find a fitting solution for your sect’s current predicament.”

Understanding how nervous Huang Yongyu was to face him, Xuan Hao didn’t say much and just informed him about how he had decided to bring up the matter of the River Sect and the sects ganging up on it to the elder in charge of these kind of things.

In other words, Elder Song…

”Hm?”

Suddenly detecting a terrifying aura from the centre of the Pure Heart Island, Xuan Hao narrowed his both his eyes.

Something about the aura was familiar, he just couldn’t put his finger on what it was…

”Chu Yang, Qing Yi, I will set you off at the shore of the Pure Heart Lake. After that, you should head back to the sect on your own… It seems like there is something I will have to check out personally…”

Not saying anything more, Xuan Hao quickly rushed back to the shore of the Pure Heart Island where he put down both his disciples along with a still confused Huang Yongyu, who still had no idea what had just happened.

One moment he was praying that no demon beast would notice him as his Lake Shadow technique was about to expire and the next moment, he found himself at the shore of the Pure Heart Lake several miles away from his previous location.

Whoosh~

Xuan Hao did not stay with his two disciples and Huang Yongyu after dropping them off before he rushed towards the Pure Heart Island where he had felt the terrifying, yet familiar aura just a moment ago.

Dropping off the winged lion and instructing it to make sure his two disciples were safe in case anyone else from the Ghost Howl Sect or the other sects decided to find trouble with them!

Roar!

The winged lion was clearly not happy about this, as it had also felt the strong aura from the Pure Heart Island and also wanted to go, but what could it do about this… Xuan Hao had told it to stay and protect the two weak humans, it had already established a blood pact with Xuan Hao and going against him was not a good idea…

Roar~

With a somewhat reluctant roar, the winged lion decided to just give up as it flew up from the ground before settling at the top of Chu Yang’s head. Ignoring everything around it before closing its two eyes and going to sleep.

Not like those two weak humans would be able to find anything interesting for it to do in the first place. Sleeping was the best option! With its domain, it would easily be able to detect if anything dangerous happened… Even if it was asleep!

”…”

Chu Yang didn’t even manage to say goodbye to his master before he had left, and the winged lion settled on top of his head before going to sleep.

”How unfair!”

At the same time, he was also met with the jealous eyes of Qing Yi and the still questioning eyes of Huang Yongyu, who wanted to understand what had just happened…

…

A few minutes earlier at the centre of the Pure Heart Island, the expedition force of the Ghost Howl Sect had arrived in front of the large opening in the ground just in time to barely see Bai Hua jumping into the large opening in the ground.

”Someone just entered the Heart of the Lake!”

”No need to worry young master, there is no way he will be able to survive! There is a reason why the River Sect hasn’t dared to dwell too deeply into that place. Even with them occupying the area for the past five hundred years! Now let’s get going, we still need to get the thing that the Sect Master needs to recover!”

Not showing even a single ounce of worry like his young master did, the elder patted him on the shoulder before quietly informing him about the reason for their visit to the Pure Heart Island.

”Yes! We have to get the Spiritual Water so my father can recover! At that time, there is no way the River Sect or even those allies of ours will be able to stop us from taking control of the surrounding territory! We might even end up becoming one of the top 5 sects inside the Flying Sword Sect’s territory!” Smiling full of eagerness as he said this, the young master could barely contain his anticipation of his bright future of being the young master of such a powerful sect.

”Move out!”

Not before long, the Ghost Howl Sect’s expeditionary force also entered the opening in the ground known as the Heart of the Lake.

The main reason behind the name, was because the centre of the entire Pure Heart Lake also being the centre of the Pure Heart Island!
