Chunibyo in Cultivation World

Looking at the celestial souls that appeared at the end of his vision, countless doubts first flashed through Li Tianwei’s mind, but he soon came to an understanding.

These celestial souls that normally would never gather together had now unexpectedly assembled in one place — everything went against what Bai Muxu had said before about the rules of the Forbidden Land of Taixu.

Think about it — Bai Muxu, as a Peak Master Elder of the Sacred Land of Lingxu, had no reason to deceive him.

Therefore! There must have been some change, some anomaly that occurred in the Forbidden Land of Taixu, which caused this situation.

And what exactly was this problem? Li Tianwei did not need to think long — it was likely triggered by his own appearance.

After all, it was perfectly reasonable that the appearance of someone like him — the protagonist — in the Forbidden Land of Taixu would cause a disturbance.

And these celestial souls rushing toward him, carrying such pure energy, were clearly here to aid him.

But faced with this aid, Li Tianwei stopped, for he understood the situation of these celestial souls before him.

They were celestial souls! Anything that could bear the word “celestial” must possess supreme power.

The Forbidden Land of Taixu had remained unchanged for tens of thousands of years — but now it had changed.

Bai Muxu’s words were not wrong, but he did not understand the Celestials!

Thus, for these celestial beings to appear here and come toward him must be because of something tied to the nature of the Celestials themselves.

In Li Tianwei’s eyes, those who could become Celestials were all beings of immense fortune and great virtue. Only those who had endured the mortal world with supreme goodness could possibly ascend to the Celestial realm.

Now, having turned into celestial souls, they must still retain the benevolence deeply buried within their thoughts.

“Yes, these celestial souls must have come here for the sake of good.”

“The world is now trapped within the grasp of the Evil Demons. These celestial souls are imprisoned here, unable to escape. They know what is happening in the outside world but are powerless to intervene. Thus, they can only use their remaining strength so that those who enter the Forbidden Land of Taixu and comprehend their Dao Intent and Divine Abilities may continue their legacy to resist the demons.”

“It must be so.”

As Li Tianwei thought of this, he was so moved that his eyes welled with tears as he gazed upon the celestial souls.

In his view, if he were to become a Celestial and encounter such an unexpected fate, he too would likely do the same — to dedicate what remained of himself after death, to contribute his lingering warmth for all living beings, to perform one final act of great virtue. Even if his body were destroyed, his remnant will would surely persist in upholding this righteousness.

Thus, these celestial souls must be doing the same — saving others through their own sacrifice.

Now that they had come to him, it must be because they had discovered his situation and intended to bestow upon him their own pure power, helping him transcend this stage and complete the process of fusion.

Upon realizing this, Li Tianwei’s expression grew solemn — for such an intention could not be accepted.

If the predecessors had to go this far, it must have been because those who came after had failed. How could he, then, rely once again on their remaining power?

Such an idea was unacceptable to Li Tianwei. He could accept that the celestial souls possessed such noble intentions, but if it was to offer their own strength to him — that, he could not allow.

Thinking of the cultivation world outside, now invaded by the Evil Demons — the demonic cultivators resorting to endless bloodshed, vile and shameless acts — even the so-called righteous Sacred Land of Baiyuan had fallen into internal strife.

Yet here, within the Forbidden Land of Taixu, the Celestials of ages past still thought of how to help the countless living beings of the cultivation world.

Thus, to Li Tianwei, rejecting the selfless offerings of these celestial souls was a must — it was the most basic principle of being human.

They had already done all that they were meant to do; now it was the responsibility of those who came after. How could he continue to borrow their remaining strength?

Li Tianwei saw himself as peerless under heaven, but he also believed that any righteous cultivator with upright spirit and unshakable integrity would never accept such a gift.

Besides, even without this gift, could Li Tianwei not complete the transformation from fission to fusion? He had absolute confidence in himself.

Originally, the System was still issuing warnings about the impending crisis of the celestial souls — before his eyes lay supreme danger — yet after Li Tianwei’s wave of self-righteous thoughts, where was the tension? The sense of crisis?

Moreover, these celestial souls were full of chaotic thoughts, their powers disordered and unaligned — with which eye did he see them as here to offer him a gift?

Not to mention, did he not notice that his continuous fusion was already spiraling out of control?

The System, being composed of data, had calculated thoroughly.

It could guarantee that if Li Tianwei continued fusing without end, and combined with the chaotic power within the Forbidden Land of Taixu, the entire place would indeed turn into a true forbidden zone — endlessly fusing and destroying itself.

Of course, Li Tianwei knew nothing of what the System was thinking.

Even if he did, he would likely just reply: “Your calculations are wrong — you failed to account for me.”

Having understood the supposed intention of the celestial souls, Li Tianwei’s face showed sorrow. For these celestial beings who had given everything, he let out a long sigh.

“I will not accept your gift.”

After speaking, Li Tianwei had already made his decision.

Rather than accept their gift, he believed that redeeming these celestial souls and returning them to the world was the best course of action.

With that thought, Li Tianwei did not hesitate to activate the Scripture of Supreme Virtue and Radiant Purity.

At this moment, Li Tianwei seemed to understand — could it be that Bai Muxu had him cultivate this technique for this very reason?

“As expected of the master I acknowledged.”

After this sigh, Li Tianwei no longer suppressed his aura — it burst forth, soaring toward the heavens.

Rumble…!

A solemn, pure, immaculate radiance surged from behind Li Tianwei.

A circular halo manifested behind his head; between his brows, the mark of the Three-Leaf Fan Dao Foundation appeared. His eyes lowered slightly, showing both dignity and compassion, giving him an aura of unparalleled majesty.

The radiance he emitted spread slowly — a feeling of utmost sanctity.

No one could describe this feeling clearly — it had reached a state of ultimate holiness, as if capable of cleansing all things.

At this moment, the Spirit Dragon that had just guided the celestial souls to attack Li Tianwei merely watched him rise, pondered briefly, and showed an expression of sudden comprehension. Then, it muttered words the Spirit Dragon itself could not understand.

Immediately afterward, a terrifying sacred aura erupted — a sensation of supreme virtue intertwined with supreme yin.

Having slumbered too long, much of its strength had faded.

Now, facing this sudden transformation, the Spirit Dragon felt inexplicable fear.

Seeing Li Tianwei’s change, and the light radiating from between his brows, the Spirit Dragon actually felt a desire to submit to him.

“What is happening to me? What method did this fellow use?”

The Spirit Dragon’s body, floating in midair, trembled slightly.

From Li Tianwei, it felt an aura of absolute dominance — a natural nemesis.

It wanted to leave — to drift away.

“No… what kind of power is this? How could it possibly make me feel this way?”

The Spirit Dragon stared at the mark between Li Tianwei’s brows — that faint, invisible power radiating outward.

It was a power the Spirit Dragon had never before perceived nor comprehended.
