Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 565: The Deal Isn’t Done, How Dare I Die

Lin Moyu continuously ran the dungeon, while Meng Anwen tirelessly set up formations.

The local administrations and military fully cooperated.

This time the Dong family put in great effort, working together with Meng Anwen, Bai Yiyuan and other major families.

It could be said that for this plan, more than half of the Divine Summer Empire’s forces were mobilized.

Such a big event couldn’t be kept secret, and news soon reached the ears of other factions.

They sent people to gather intelligence, but the Divine Summer Empire had made itself like an iron plate, impenetrable.

As a result, no information could be obtained. Even if some news was acquired, it was ambiguous and hard to verify as true or false.

As the strongest country in the world, the Divine Summer Empire was incomparable to those small countries and factions.

Infiltration was almost impossible.

On Bai Yiyuan’s side, the camp grew larger and larger, with the number of soul-devouring beasts exceeding expectations.

The original camp built to accommodate 100,000 people was already full. An even larger camp was built outside it.

Life-type career holders and architects were mobilized to rapidly expand the camp.

With not enough healers, many formation masters were called over to set up healing formations.

Many alchemists were also summoned to concoct healing potions.

The royal family also joined in, providing medicinal herbs from their stockpile.

The number of people parasitized by soul-devouring beasts quickly exceeded 200,000, and was still increasing at an alarming rate.

This kind of infection would increase exponentially, getting faster and harder to control.

It was estimated that in a month, the number of those parasitized by soul-devouring beasts in the camp could reach one million.

In the whole world, only the Divine Summer Empire could do such a thing.

No other faction had the ability to do this.

But no matter how careful Bai Yiyuan and the others were, no matter how strict the control, they knew some soul-devouring beasts must have escaped.

If they were within the Divine Summer Empire’s borders it was still fine. Once the soul fusion formation was activated, all the soul-devouring beasts within the empire would be eliminated, becoming nourishment.

But if they escaped to other countries, other factions…

Those factions could only fend for themselves.

The Divine Summer Empire couldn’t manage them.

Bai Yiyuan had said a few words about this matter before: “Our ancestors said, those not of our kind must be of a different heart.”

“Our strength is limited. We can only manage the people within our own country.”

“As for those whose hair, skin, eyes and appearance are different from ours, let them fend for themselves.”

As one of the most powerful figures in the Divine Summer Empire,

When Emperor Di didn’t speak, Bai Yiyuan’s words represented the highest will of the Divine Summer Empire’s top leadership.

Generally speaking, no one would resist, and no one dared to resist.

In the hearts of the Divine Summer Empire’s people, Bai Yiyuan’s authority was very high, even higher than the royal family’s.

Someone might not know the name of the ruler, but they couldn’t not know the White God.

Bai Yiyuan was in charge of the camp. He had been very busy lately, with many things to deal with.

But now he had to stop what he was doing. Ning Tairan was sitting in front of him, looking serious.

Bai Yiyuan asked, “You went to Creation God Island?”

“I went, but didn’t find the old man.”

Bai Yiyuan frowned, “The old man wouldn’t easily leave Creation God Island. Where did he go?”

The old man on Creation God Island was humanity’s only half-step super god, Emperor Di.

He was two generations above Bai Yiyuan, Ning Tairan and the others.

He was even one generation above Ye Hao.

It was said he had lived for nearly 200 years.

No one knew exactly how old he was.

Even those who knew of his existence weren’t many.

Perhaps the era that belonged to him had already ended.

For nearly a hundred years, he had hardly appeared in the public eye.

But truly powerful career holders, all god-level career holders knew there was such a figure like a sea-calming divine needle in the human race.

It was because of his existence that demons didn’t dare to invade the human world on a large scale.

But now, he was gone.

No one knew where he went.

Bai Yiyuan had originally wanted to find him to preside over this soul fusion formation, after all the Demon Emperor had already acted.

If the Abyss demons could get the news, the dragon race would certainly get it too.

Perhaps the Dragon Emperor would also take action.

Without a half-step super god level expert to keep watch, he was afraid something unexpected would happen.

Although he was strong, although Meng Anwen was strong, compared to a half-step super god, they were still far behind.

Bai Yiyuan said softly, “I was originally planning to go find the old man in a few days too. Looks like you and I thought of the same thing.”

“Now that the old man is gone, if he doesn’t want to come out, we won’t be able to find him.”

“The only plan now is to see if you can contact Jiang Yi!”

Ning Tairan was shocked, “Jiang Yi?”

Bai Yiyuan said, “He’s about to be resurrected. At least for now he can already control the Demon Slaying Sword to kill the Demon Emperor’s will. The dungeon evolved from his soul is in the Dungeon Hall you manage.”

Ning Tairan nodded silently, “Alright, I understand.”

Bai Yiyuan thought for a moment, “Don’t spread the news of Emperor Di’s disappearance.”

“I know.”

Ning Tairan knew the seriousness of the matter and naturally wouldn’t talk carelessly.

After Ning Tairan left, Bai Yiyuan went to find Meng Anwen and told him about Emperor Di’s disappearance.

After thinking, Meng Anwen said softly, “Have someone find Lin Mohan and see where she is. It’s also time to find Old Yan and call him back. At least with the three of us here, if we encounter something unexpected, we still have the strength to fight.”

…

Eternal Battlefield, upper space, core region.

A stream of light cut through the sky at an astonishing speed.

The space of the Eternal Battlefield rumbled non-stop, as if unable to withstand the power of the light stream.

The light stream was like a knife, cutting through space like fabric, revealing the deep void.

Emperor Di flew at incredible speed, like lightning, carrying Lin Mohan towards the area where Antares was.

He glowed brightly, with enormous power pressing on him from all directions, trying to expel him from the Eternal Battlefield.

As a half-step super god, he was not allowed to stay in the upper space of the Eternal Battlefield.

But Emperor Di’s strength was too astonishing. He actually resisted the expelling force of the Eternal Battlefield with his own power.

However, as time passed, the expelling force rapidly increased. Even he couldn’t resist for too long.

Lin Mohan looked a bit anxious. She didn’t know why her teacher had brought her here.

They had gone from the deep space to the lower space, then transferred to the upper space, flying all the way into the core region towards the central area.

If it were her, she would have been expelled long ago.

Emperor Di said nothing, his expression serious. He flew over ten thousand kilometers in just one minute.

Lin Mohan saw Antares, seeing this terrifying behemoth.

“Antares!”

Emperor Di’s voice boomed.

At this time the expelling force had become extremely enormous. Space cracks filled the area around Emperor Di.

Lightning constantly generated in the void. The power of this lightning was terrifyingly great.

Lin Mohan felt that any single bolt of lightning could obliterate her to ashes.

Now the Eternal space was no longer trying to expel Emperor Di, but to kill him.

Emperor Di resisted the lightning, also with some difficulty.

“Antares!”

Emperor Di shouted again, and Antares finally stirred.

It lifted its eyelids and glanced at Emperor Di.

Then it snorted heavily.

In an instant, the lightning disappeared and space returned to normal.

Antares’ power enveloped Emperor Di and Lin Mohan, helping him avoid the power of the Eternal Battlefield.

With Antares’ power present, the laws of the Eternal Battlefield ignored Emperor Di, treating him as non-existent.

Emperor Di finally breathed a sigh of relief and descended with Lin Mohan, “Respected Lord Antares, it’s been many years. Di Yan greets you.”

Di Yan was Emperor Di’s real name. In front of Antares, he didn’t dare call himself Emperor Di.

Antares said grumpily, “You old fellow are still alive? I thought you were dead.”

Di Yan didn’t mind, chuckling, “Our deal isn’t finished yet. How dare I die?”

A glint appeared in Antares’ eyes, “So you’ve found the dragon pearl?”

If Lin Moyu were present, he would certainly have heard the change in Antares’ tone.

In fact, Antares was a bit excited. The dragon pearl was very important to it.

But Antares wouldn’t show it, so as to have bargaining chips in the negotiation.

Di Yan said, “Yes, I’ve found it. So I’ve come to complete this deal with you.”

Antares thought for a moment, “Alright, state your request.”

Di Yan glanced at Lin Mohan, “I’d like to ask Lord Antares to spare a bit of your will to protect my disciple, keeping her safe until she reaches half-step super god.”

At this moment Lin Mohan finally understood why her teacher had brought her here.

This Antares was an incredibly extraordinary being, clearly even more powerful than her teacher.

Lin Mohan couldn’t hide the shock in her eyes. She also guessed why, “Teacher…”
