Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 456: What a Pity, You Came One Step Too Late

The ground, stripped of green grass, became bare.

The slightly blackish-gray soil was exposed.

At the instant the grass left the ground, Lin Moyu saw dense monsters on the earth.

There were octopuses he had seen before, as well as crabs and some strange fish with four limbs.

These monsters were right in front of Lin Moyu, rapidly changing their body color to blend in with the earth again.

It took no more than two seconds.

Lin Moyu’s gaze lingered on a spot less than five meters in front of him.

There was a crab-like monster here.

Over ten meters in size, with huge pincers, it was clearly very powerful.

During the moment of color change, they had revealed a hint of their aura.

Lin Moyu sensed these monsters were about the level of ordinary bosses, or even stronger.

Their level was at least in the 70s, maybe even 80.

“These monsters won’t attack proactively…”

In other places, monsters would have attacked him at such close range.

But thinking back, the giant leaf dwarf tree hadn’t attacked him proactively either.

Not until Mu Xianxian stepped on the vines…

What strange monsters.

Lin Moyu raised himself a bit higher and flew towards his destination.

The small grass he had flown over earlier had already returned.

The ground was restored to its original state.

Normally they were soft small grass, but once they left the ground they became sharp swords.

Flying forward for some distance, Lin Moyu saw the two sides battling.

“Human career holders.”

Lin Moyu saw the two sides fighting.

A team of six human career holders.

They were surrounding and attacking a monster that looked exactly like the octopus monster he had seen earlier.

Lin Moyu landed early, stopping behind a slope to watch the battle as a bystander.

The octopus monster’s eight tentacles thrashed wildly in the air, but were all blocked by the human career holders.

A knight, a healer, a support controller, two mages, and an archer.

Each was a top career holder over level 70.

But none had exceeded level 80. After level 80, the aura on one’s body would change.

Lin Moyu may not have understood before, but now he was very clear.

For careers like knights and healers, the third transition at level 70 brought them stronger career skills.

Only support careers would undergo relatively big changes after level 70.

Most supports would awaken many control skills after level 70, giving them powerful battlefield control.

Before level 70, supports basically had nothing to do after applying buffs, spending most of their time idly watching.

But after level 70, with the appearance of many control skills, supports also became control careers.

When there were many monsters, they were responsible for large-scale battlefield control.

When fighting bosses, they were responsible for interrupting the boss’s skills.

Similarly, in teams above level 70, support also became an indispensable career.

Lin Moyu saw with his own eyes the support in the team ahead, whose staff emitted a ball of light that quickly fell on the octopus monster.

The octopus monster was stunned for an instant.

The skill it was preparing was also interrupted.

Although the entire stun process lasted less than two seconds, the effect was very obvious.

He bought breathing time for the knight, and also allowed the healer to perform two more heals.

After all, battles after level 70 were far more intense than before.

Two seconds was enough to do many things.

Lin Moyu didn’t go over directly. This team wasn’t from the Divine Summer Empire.

From their clothing, Lin Moyu judged they were from Eagle Country, Eagle Country career holders.

Although there was no major conflict between Eagle Country and the Divine Summer Empire, things hadn’t been good between them for years.

When career holders from both sides met in the wild, they rarely greeted each other. Records of big fights were not few.

There had even been several incidents causing casualties.

It was precisely because of this that Lin Moyu didn’t go up to greet them.

He just silently watched.

The octopus monster was not much different from his expectations in strength, probably an ordinary boss under level 80.

The six-person Eagle Country team cooperated tacitly, especially the support who was particularly outstanding.

He precisely interrupted the octopus boss’s skills again and again, greatly reducing pressure on the knight.

This also allowed the mages and archer in the back to output damage freely. The whole team fought very easily.

However, Lin Moyu noticed the mages’ output was somewhat timid.

They seemed afraid to use large-scale skills.

Lin Moyu understood this was due to the damage reflection mechanism of the grassland.

If mages used large-area skills, a lot of attacks would inevitably fall on the grassland.

Probably the earlier flying of countless green grass blades was because mages had used large-area skills.

Mages were the strongest damage dealers. Once they couldn’t fight all out, efficiency would inevitably decrease.

After fighting for about 30 minutes, they finally cut down the octopus boss.

The knight used his sword to dissect the octopus, taking out a water ball much larger than a human head from its body.

Then he took out several bottles and put the water from the ball into the bottles.

Lin Moyu didn’t understand what they were collecting this water for.

At this time, whistling sounds came from the sky.

Many black dots appeared in the sky as a large team arrived, over a hundred people.

They were all Eagle Country career holders, wearing the same clothing, probably from some guild in Eagle Country.

The leading knight had an extremely heavy aura. Lin Moyu judged from the aura that this person should be over level 85, a top career holder.

He was the highest level of all present.

Wearing gorgeous equipment, his gaze swept over the dead octopus, “Is the purification water collected?”

Several knights responded, “It’s all collected.”

They took out the collected water bottles.

Lin Moyu then learned that the water obtained from the octopus boss was called purification water.

And this hundred-person team hadn’t just killed one octopus monster, but had split up to kill quite a few octopus bosses.

Each octopus boss could only provide limited purification water, just five or six bottles.

Now, they had at least over 100 bottles in hand.

Enough for each person to get one bottle with some left over.

The leading knight nodded, “Good, distribute one bottle to each person. With this, we can greatly reduce the threat of the Toxic Dragon. This time our Eagle Guild must kill the Toxic Dragon and avenge our previous humiliation.”

Lin Moyu was slightly stunned. These guys were actually going to kill the Toxic Dragon.

It seemed the purification water in their hands should have detoxification effects.

“I wonder how they’ll feel when they discover the Toxic Dragon has already been killed.”

“What a pity, you came one step too late.”

Lin Moyu found it amusing. These people were so well-prepared, but would probably return disappointed.

The leading knight said a few more words of encouragement, then waved his hand, “Set off for the Poison Snake Land.”

The group sped off towards Poison Snake Land like the wind.

Lin Moyu stood behind the small slope watching them leave.

He knew the other side had probably discovered him.

He hadn’t deliberately concealed his aura, and probably couldn’t hide from their leading knight.

But the other side clearly didn’t care about him and completely ignored him.

Lin Moyu didn’t mind either. He looked towards the direction these Eagle Country people had come from.

“That should be the direction to leave.”

“The terrain here is completely different from Thunder Burial Valley. After leaving this area, I’ll ask someone again.”

Having made up his mind, he quickly flew towards the front.

The green grassland was much safer compared to Poison Snake Land. The monsters here wouldn’t attack proactively, and no world-class bosses had been found.

As long as one didn’t court death by messing with the grassland, there wouldn’t be any danger.

However, Lin Moyu was still curious about the green grassland.

Why was there a bottomless ice layer under the grass?

How was the ice layer formed?

Having experienced many things, Lin Moyu had developed his own views on various matters and had all kinds of guesses.

He even suspected that under the ice layer might be the Water God’s sleeping place.

But he had no ability to break through the ice layer now. When he had the chance in the future, he would definitely go down to take a look.

An hour later, Lin Moyu had flown over a thousand kilometers.

He encountered another team of career holders again.

“Divine Summer people?” The other side actively flew over to greet Lin Moyu.

Lin Moyu nodded, “Yes, are you from the Jia Lan Guild?”

Lin Moyu recognized the mark on their clothing.

The Jia Lan Guild’s mark was on Mu Xianxian’s body, so Lin Moyu was very familiar with it.

The other person was tall and big, over two meters in height with a burly build.

His way of speaking matched his appearance, very straightforward, “That’s right, Jia Lan Lieyang, level 82 Holy Word Knight.”

Jia Lan Lieyang?

Looks like not only was he from the Jia Lan Guild, but also had some relationship with Jia Lan Yeyu.

Suddenly, Jia Lan Lieyang showed a surprised expression, “Little brother, how are you only level 52?”
