Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 174: Excellent Tactics, First Victory

The charging Luo Miao suddenly staggered as her charge skill was interrupted by Wind Binding. She lost her balance and momentum.

Miao Yu’s skill was timed perfectly.

Just as Luo Miao was affected, Jiang Taotao arrived with her charge skill.

Luo Miao let out a cry as she was sent flying back with a bang, having lost her balance.

Jiang Taotao’s charge didn’t stop. She fiercely charged into the enemy team.

The opponents clearly didn’t expect this. Their prophet hadn’t finished applying buffs, but their knight was already knocked down and the enemy knight was charging in.

Skill: Group Taunt!

Jiang Taotao activated her second skill while still charging.

The taunt skill forced the enemies to focus their attention on her.

No one noticed that Ning Yiyi had already disappeared from the arena.

Nor did they notice that Duan Gao’s buffs weren’t applied to Jiang Taotao, but to Ning Yiyi instead.

He had quickly given Ning Yiyi four buffs: strength, agility, attack speed, and attack power.

Only after Ning Yiyi disappeared did Duan Gao turn to buff Jiang Taotao.

The opponents were caught off guard by this sudden tactic.

By the time the archer and mage reacted, Jiang Taotao was already right in front of them.

Her knight’s longsword swung with a cold light.

Blue light flashed as a magic shield appeared on the mage, blocking Jiang Taotao’s strike.

The archer quickly retreated several steps to open up distance, his bow glowing brilliantly.

Three arrows in one!

One arrow split into three, shooting straight at Jiang Taotao.

Jiang Taotao raised her shield to block. She didn’t continue engaging the mage or chase the archer, but turned to slash at the elder nearby.

“Get back!”

A shout rang out as Luo Miao charged back.

She had broken free of Miao Yu’s binding skill.

Skill: Taunt!

Luo Miao activated her skill, forcibly drawing Jiang Taotao’s attention to herself.

The mage cast a spell, sending a fireball flying at Jiang Taotao.

With a bang, the fireball exploded. Though Jiang Taotao blocked with her shield, she still grunted from the impact.

A healing spell landed on Jiang Taotao as Miao Yu immediately healed her.

Jiang Taotao was now surrounded.

With the knight engaging her, and the archer and mage attacking from range, Jiang Taotao’s situation looked precarious.

Knights didn’t have strong burst damage. With the opponent’s elder healing, Jiang Taotao couldn’t take down her enemies.

Jiang Taotao seemed to be in danger.

But no one had noticed where Ning Yiyi went.

Jiang Taotao fought Luo Miao without fear despite the 4 level difference, even pressuring Luo Miao with her momentum.

She was simultaneously enduring attacks from both the archer and mage, while Miao Yu continuously cast healing spells from behind.

This put enormous pressure on Miao Yu.

Her spirit power consumption was very severe.

The opposing elder was also casting healing spells, but she was much more relaxed than Miao Yu.

Suddenly, she violently shuddered as intense pain shot through her.

The next second, she had disappeared from the arena, appearing below it.

She had died, instantly killed.

With the formation’s protection, fatal attacks didn’t cause real death, but teleported the victim below the arena.

Two huge wounds still remained on her body, causing intense pain.

The next second, several powerful healing spells landed on her.

The wounds quickly healed and the pain disappeared.

The unnoticed Ning Yiyi had silently appeared behind the enemy healer, instantly killing her with two skill bursts and sending her off the arena.

“Watch out for their assassin!”

The archer shouted, activating Eagle Eye to spot the invisible Ning Yiyi.

Whoosh whoosh!

Arrows shot towards Ning Yiyi.

Invisible, Ning Yiyi couldn’t move as nimbly as usual.

Faced with the rapidly approaching arrows, she could only cancel her invisibility.

But Ning Yiyi didn’t retreat. Instead she charged straight at Luo Miao.

Without their elder healer, the enemy team couldn’t heal injuries.

Their ability to sustain fights dropped dramatically.

Meanwhile Jiang Taotao was constantly receiving healing, her combat power undiminished.

Luo Miao grew anxious, “Take out their healer!”

The archer and mage attacked Miao Yu simultaneously.

Duan Gao looked prepared, suddenly pulling out a huge shield.

He planted the shield on the ground. It was over 1.5 meters tall.

Its attributes didn’t matter, nor did it matter if Duan Gao could wield it properly. Being big was enough.

Duan Gao held up the shield, protecting Miao Yu behind him.

As attacks landed on the shield, Duan Gao cried out dramatically, as exaggerated as possible.

The shield couldn’t block all damage.

With Duan Gao’s pitiful level 21 attributes, he immediately took significant damage.

After casting one more healing spell on Jiang Taotao, Miao Yu turned to heal Duan Gao.

“Hold on a bit longer!” Miao Yu said softly.

Duan Gao gritted his teeth, “Don’t worry, I can take it!”

As long as the healer didn’t die, the team’s safety was guaranteed.

This was why Jiang Taotao’s group had planned to take out the enemy healer first.

As an assassin, Ning Yiyi had low presence and could potentially instantly kill the enemy healer with a surprise attack.

The results proved this strategy very effective.

Jiang Taotao’s group had seized the initiative.

Watching this, Lin Moyu knew they were very likely to win this match.

The opponents seemed to lack experience fighting other career holders.

They only knew how to run dungeons, with weak real combat experience.

“Ultimate Defense!”

Surrounded by Jiang Taotao and Ning Yiyi, Luo Miao finally couldn’t hold on and activated Ultimate Defense.

The instant Luo Miao activated Ultimate Defense, Jiang Taotao switched targets, using her charge skill to instantly reach the mage.

Skill: Shield Bash!

Skill: Knight’s Cross Slash!

Skill: Knight’s Combo Slash!

Skills burst out continuously, instantly maximizing her damage output.

In just a second, the mage’s magic shield shattered like glass under his terrified gaze.

Ning Yiyi also appeared behind the mage at the right moment.

Her skills had finished cooling down.

Skill: Deadly Strike!

Skill: Internal Explosion!

Two skills activated simultaneously, unleashing powerful damage.

With a scream, the mage disappeared from the arena, appearing below.

By now, the outcome was decided.

The battle had only lasted two minutes before producing a result.

Lin Moyu’s team successfully advanced.

They were all very happy. Ning Yiyi jumped up excitedly, “We won!”

Jiang Taotao also clenched her fist, “We won!”

With excellent tactics, victory was well-deserved.

Those watching this match all felt disappointed.

“Lin Moyu, he didn’t even move…”

“They won 4v5, wow, the other side must be really bad.”

“They lost due to lack of experience. The opponents are used to running dungeons, with no experience fighting other career holders.”

“Exactly, their healer was instantly killed at the start. How could they fight after that?”

“Too bad we didn’t get to see Lin Moyu in action. We still don’t know how strong he really is.”

“No rush, there are more matches tomorrow. He’ll have to fight sooner or later.”

For Lin Moyu, today’s matches were over.

The next match was scheduled for tomorrow.

As for who they would fight, it would be randomly matched.

“I’m going to the high-level arena.”

Lin Moyu wanted to go see Lin Mohan.

Ning Yiyi raised her hand, “I want to go too!”

Jiang Taotao and the others wisely chose not to be third wheels.

They still wanted to observe others’ battles, compare with themselves, and learn.

…

The high-level arena battles were even more intense. High-level career holders had far more dazzling skills than low-level ones, a feast for the eyes.

From far away, they could see the colorful arena.

Skills boomed and energy fluctuated, spreading very far.

Here, there were also thirty arenas.

They corresponded to level 40, 50 and 60 career holders respectively.

But the arenas were even larger, each 50 meters in diameter.

This gave career holders more room to maneuver.

“Found her! Found her! She’s on Arena 5!”

Sharp-eyed Ning Yiyi immediately spotted Lin Mohan’s name.

They quickly ran over.

According to the rules, they couldn’t enter the arena and could only watch from the distant spectator stands.

On Arena 5, the battle was in full swing.

Lin Mohan stood to the side holding dual swords, not participating in the fight.

She was beautiful with a tall figure, standing there like a goddess.

Even without fighting, she firmly attracted many people’s gazes.

The four with her were all Creation God Academy students.

Top geniuses with powerful combat strength.

Even with Lin Mohan not fighting, in a 4v5 situation, they still completely overwhelmed their opponents.

It was a total mismatch in strength, the gap too large.

“Sister is even prettier than in photos.”

Seeing Lin Mohan from afar, Ning Yiyi was immediately captivated.

Lin Moyu smiled slightly, holding Ning Yiyi without speaking.

At this moment, Lin Mohan suddenly raised her dual swords, gently twisting her slender waist.

Though Lin Mohan only moved slightly, it gave everyone the feeling she had danced a beautiful dance.

She firmly captured everyone’s eyes.

Lin Mohan was far more eye-catching than the exciting battle.

At this moment, Lin Moyu also understood what a Holy Sword Dancer was.

A sword appeared above Lin Mohan’s head.

The sword flashed with holy light, illuminating the surroundings.

Sword shadows also appeared above Lin Mohan’s teammates’ heads.

Everyone seemed to get a shot of adrenaline, their combat power soaring.

They were already at an absolute advantage. The opponents’ defeat was only a matter of time.

Now with Lin Mohan’s skill buff, their combat power increased greatly.

The opponents were defeated almost instantly, all knocked off the arena.

Lin Mohan’s team achieved victory.

And throughout the entire match, Lin Mohan hadn’t made a move, only casting two skills while standing there.

Lin Moyu pondered, “It seems sister’s career has support characteristics.”

“Yiyi, do you know about the Blade Dancer career?”

Ning Yiyi thought for a moment, then shook her head, “I’ve heard of it. It’s a very rare legendary career. They say it combines support and warrior abilities. Even among legendary careers it’s considered very powerful.”

Now Lin Mohan was no longer just a Blade Dancer, but had ascended to Holy Sword Dancer, becoming even stronger.

Lin Mohan and her team walked off the arena, disappearing from view in the blink of an eye.

“Let’s go back.”

Lin Moyu patted his hands.

As long as he knew Lin Mohan was safe and well, he didn’t need to worry.

There would be plenty of opportunities in the future.
