**

Under the incomparably shocked gazes of Feng Zun Zhe and the others. They saw that within the vast six-colored thunderclouds above, as the Dragon Bear continued to devour the power of thunder, a faint layer of purple-gold light began to glow across its body.

A mighty dragon aura slowly spread out, rippling through the sky and pressing down like an invisible mountain. Moreover, on its chest, beside the eight strands of fur-patterns, something seemed to be writhing faintly — as if a ninth dragon pattern was about to be born!

”Hiss~”

Feng Zun Zhe and the others couldn’t help but gasp in unison, their hearts rolling with immense shock. Dragon patterns represented strength — eight dragon patterns meant the Rank 8!

At the same time, it also represented bloodline power.

If that ninth dragon pattern were to truly form before everyone’s eyes, wouldn’t that mean this Dragon Bear was about to ascend to the Rank 9, become Dou Sheng-level, and evolve into the legendary Ultimate Dragon Bear?!

Could it be that today, everyone would witness the birth of a Saint-level magical beast?!

Beneath the thunderclouds.

At the peak of a lush, verdant mountain stood a massive, smooth boulder. Upon it, Wei Yang sat cross-legged on a meditation mat, with the dark-red Ten Thousand Beast Cauldron burning fiercely before him.

Not far away, Xian’er was also seated cross-legged, with a bronze cauldron blazing in front of her. At this moment, Xian’er raised her head, her beautiful eyes gazing at the raging storm above where Xiong Zhan was undergoing his trial. Her tone carried surprise.

”Just half a drop of Dragon Emperor’s heart-blood was enough to push Xiong Zhan directly into the Dou Sheng realm?”

The moment she said it, she shook her head slightly, realizing that such a thing was impossible.

After all, before merging with that small half-drop of the Dragon Emperor’s heart-blood, Xiong Zhan had only been at the peak of Four-Star Dou Zun. How could he possibly leap straight into sainthood?

If that were true, then the Dou Sheng realm would be far too cheap.

”Of course he didn’t directly become a Dou Sheng,” Wei Yang shook his head and pondered aloud.

”What’s happening is most likely due to the Dragon Emperor’s heart-blood merging into his body, which caused his bloodline to undergo an early transformation. That’s why the ninth dragon pattern is emerging — this is bloodline evolution, not a breakthrough in cultivation.”

In Wei Yang’s hand remained the last half-drop of Zhu Kun’s heart-blood.

When he saw Xiong Zhan absorbing the thunder energy, a sudden impulse struck him, and he decided to grant that small half-drop of heart-blood to Xiong Zhan. He had instructed Xiong Zhan to use the Supplementing Deficiency Secret Art to merge it into his bloodline.

Among Wei Yang’s three servants, Du Jiao’s potential was already limited. Unless a miracle occurred, the peak of Nine-Star Dou Zun would be his ceiling. His soul problem could not be solved — and without that, the Nine Changes were but a dream.

To solve Du Jiao’s soul problem, at the very least, one would need a treasure like a Gold-Grade Soul Baby Fruit. But where could such a thing even be found?

Even if it did exist, Wei Yang wasn’t sure if he’d be willing to give it to Du Jiao when the time came. After all, resources in this world were limited. The higher the grade, the rarer they were. Even Wei Yang couldn’t afford to act recklessly just because he wished to.

As for Ah Da, his situation was a bit better — he might not reach the Dou Sheng level, but Ban Sheng was still within reach. Finally, there was Xiong Zhan — the most valuable of the three, and the one with the greatest potential to go further.

After all, his origins and bloodline were exceptional — a rare Ancient Dragon Bear. Once his bloodline evolved, he would become one of the top-tier magical beasts — the Ultimate Dragon Bear.

That was why Wei Yang had been willing to part with that precious half-drop of Dragon Emperor’s heart-blood and fuse it into his bloodline.

(It was described as ”half a drop,” but in truth, it was a solid blood crystal, condensed from a vast amount of heart-blood. Even though Wei Yang had already used most of it, what remained — once liquefied — was still about the size of half a fist, an impressive amount indeed.)

That drop of essence blood was something Zhu Kun had condensed over a long period of time out of boredom — an unimaginably precious essence. The result was indeed gratifying. Wei Yang’s effort had not been wasted.

Xiong Zhan proved himself worthy — he had used that essence to trigger an early bloodline evolution, transforming into the Ultimate Dragon Bear!

Originally, this evolution should only have occurred once Xiong Zhan reached the Rank 9. But now, under the influence of the Dragon Emperor’s blood essence, it happened early — his bloodline had evolved, transforming from an Ancient Dragon Bear into an Ultimate Dragon Bear.

As the thunder tribulation came to an end, Xiong Zhan devoured the last bolt of lightning, completing his evolution. At this moment, his form had completely changed. He had become a massive creature, towering more than 150 meters tall.

His fur was pitch-black like demonic armor, his eyes blood-red, his entire presence radiating a terrifying aura of slaughter and ferocity. From his slightly opened maw protruded four thick fangs, sharp and menacing at their tips.

Behind the giant bear extended a black tail more than thirty meters long. When that tail gently swept through the air, the surrounding space shattered and collapsed. It no longer bore the draconic traits of before — now it was simply a massive black tail.

On the chest of the black giant bear were nine strands of purple-golden fur patterns. However, the newly formed ninth pattern appeared somewhat dim and faint — not as solid or vibrant as the other eight.

Ferocious! Brutal! Violent! Savage!

That was the feeling the black giant bear gave to everyone present — as though it were the embodiment of the world’s most fearsome beast.

Suspended in midair, the Ultimate Dragon Bear released a surge of murderous intent so fierce that the once-clear sky above dimmed once again under its pressure.

That mountain-like, towering body — its powerful physique and thick, muscled limbs — gave everyone present the illusion that the heavens and earth themselves couldn’t withstand even a single punch or stomp from this monstrous creature.

This was the Ultimate Dragon Bear!

A bloodline of the highest order — supreme and peerless under the heavens.

”ROAR!”

The black giant bear raised its head and bellowed skyward.

A wave of invisible sound burst forth. The entire sky shattered under that single roar, collapsing into pitch-black nothingness.

Below, countless disciples of the Falling Star Pavilion buckled under the soundwave — their legs went weak, and many collapsed to the ground trembling uncontrollably, faces pale with terror.

But no one mocked them — because the oppressive might radiating from that monstrous bear was far too overwhelming!

The ferocity, the brutality, the murderous aura... it wasn’t just the disciples who felt it — even the Dou Zun experts like Feng Zun Zhe and the others felt their scalps tingle and their bodies instinctively tense.

”This beast is terrifying... its bloodline has evolved ahead of time — it’s truly become an Ultimate Dragon Bear!”

Yao Lao’s voice carried a rare note of awe as a cold white flame flickered in his palm. Within the flame, a slightly uneven, cratered pill embryo was spinning slowly.

He sighed in astonishment, and the emotion almost made him lose control — the fire wavered slightly, nearly overheating and destroying the half-formed pill.

Fortunately, he regained control just in time. Otherwise, an almost-complete five-colored Tier 8 pill would have been ruined.

Yao Lao exhaled lightly, feeling lucky. If he had failed refining an eight-grade pill right in front of everyone, his old face would have been too embarrassed to show.

Looking at the unharmed pill embryo, he could only shake his head with a wry smile. Even with all his knowledge and experience, he was still deeply shocked.

Because Xiong Zhan’s transformation meant that — barring any accidents — he could eventually reach the Dou Sheng realm purely through bloodline evolution alone!

Yes — by relying solely on his bloodline!

That was a privilege only comparable to those born into the Ancient Clans with Divine-Grade bloodlines. In other words, Xiong Zhan now officially possessed a ticket into the Dou Sheng Realm — it was only a matter of time.

How long that would take depended entirely on how many resources Wei Yang was willing to provide. The more resources, the faster it would be. The fewer, the slower. But either way, it was inevitable — even with minimal resources, sainthood was only a matter of time!

There was simply no helping it. Some beings were just born with that kind of absurd advantage. Just like those rare, special physiques and Divine-Grade bloodlines — even if you were jealous, it wouldn’t change anything.

Not only Yao Lao, but Wei Yang, Xiao Yan, and the others had also realized this fact.

Shua!

With a flash, Xiong Zhan transformed back into his human form and landed on the stone platform. He immediately dropped to his knees and pressed his head to the ground, his voice trembling with excitement and reverence.

”Xiong Zhan thanks Master for the gift!”

(When Wei Yang decided to grant Xiong Zhan the Dragon Emperor’s heart-blood, he personally reinforced the slave soul imprint in Xiong Zhan’s soul to prevent any future accidents. He didn’t trust Ah Da to maintain control — if the imprint were ever to fail and backfire, the consequences would be disastrous. As long as Wei Yang’s soul realm stayed ahead of, or even equal to, Xiong Zhan’s, the latter would never be able to break free, remaining eternally loyal.)

”Good. Very good. You didn’t waste that precious drop of blood essence,” Wei Yang said with satisfaction.

With a wave of his hand, he lifted the cauldron lid, collected the newly formed six-colored, eighth-grade pill, and then closed his eyes to begin restoring his energy.

His voice was calm as he instructed, ”Go on. Get used to your new strength. As for the remaining thunder tribulations — they’re all yours.”

Since Xiong Zhan had undergone such a remarkable evolution, Wei Yang naturally planned to favor him more in future resource distribution. He wouldn’t give him everything, but Xiong Zhan would certainly receive priority and a greater share.

After all, even if Du Jiao absorbed more thunder tribulations, his potential was already limited — it wouldn’t change much.

Wei Yang understood the importance of allocation. This wasn’t about emotion but practicality with limited resources, they had to be invested where the return would be greatest.

”Yes!”

Hearing this, Xiong Zhan’s face lit up with joy.

He bowed deeply once more before retreating to a nearby spot, sitting cross-legged to meditate. While awaiting the next round of thunder tribulations, he focused on adapting to and mastering the immense power now coursing through his body.

After this bloodline evolution, his cultivation had reached the peak of Five-Star Dou Zun yet his true combat strength had multiplied several times over.

Of course, compared to the true benefits brought by his bloodline evolution that increase in strength was nothing more than a small side effect.
