**

Before long, the First Elder, with an eager expression, led Wei Yang into the hall.

As soon as Wei Yang arrived, the members of the Xiao Clan displayed respectful expressions.

Especially Xiao Yan—his eyes lit up with excitement, a hint of anticipation flashing within them.

The three guests from the Yun Lan Sect also turned to look at the young man stepping into the hall.

Dressed in a black brocade robe embroidered with golden patterns, his handsome face and the faint aura of extraordinary temperament made the young man beside the elder frown slightly.

Because at this moment, the Xiao Clan girls, who had been admiring him earlier, had already shifted their gazes toward Wei Yang.

Their flirtatious glances—burning hot.

Even the noble young girl, Nalan Yanran, showed a trace of surprise in her expression before quickly withdrawing her gaze.

The elder in white robes, however, grew more serious.

Because, as he secretly tried to sense Wei Yang’s strength, he discovered that he could not detect anything at all.

Yet at the same time, he felt as if the young man before him was like an abyss—unfathomably deep.

—

”Master Wei.”

Xiao Zhan and the two elders stood up respectfully, cupping their fists in greeting.

Wei Yang nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the white-robed elder and the young man beside him before pausing momentarily on the noble young girl. Then, he turned to Xiao Zhan and smiled.

”The Xiao Clan has guests today. It seems I’ve come at an inconvenient time.”

”Not at all, not at all! Master Wei gracing my Xiao Clan with your presence is an honor. How could it be an inconvenience?”

Xiao Zhan waved his hands repeatedly before introducing the three guests.

”These three are honored guests from the Yun Lan Sect.”

Wei Yang nodded slightly toward the three, and the white-robed elder reciprocated with a nod.

However, Wei Yang’s casual demeanor only made the three from the Yun Lan Sect more solemn.

After all, to remain this composed upon hearing the name of the Yun Lan Sect showed that he had confidence in his own strength.

Xiao Zhan arranged for Wei Yang to sit at the head seat among the Xiao Clan members, directly across from the white-robed elder—a sign that the Xiao Clan regarded both sides equally.

”Since I arrived later, my matters are not urgent. We can discuss them afterward.”

After sitting down, Wei Yang picked up his tea, took a small sip, and smiled lightly.

”Please, go ahead and entertain the guests from Yun Lan Sect first. No need to mind me.”

Wei Yang’s humility and tact left a good impression on everyone present.

Even the three from Yun Lan Sect gave him a subtle nod of approval.

Xiao Zhan expressed his gratitude, but he had no intention of ignoring Wei Yang.

A discreet glance toward the First Elder was all it took—the elder understood and nodded slightly.

Thus, the First Elder subtly shifted his focus, placing more attention on Wei Yang.

—

After the brief interruption, the white-robed elder coughed lightly and stood up, once again cupping his fists toward Xiao Zhan with a polite smile.

”Patriach Xiao, we have come to your esteemed clan today with a request.”

”Haha, Master Ge Ye, please speak freely. If it is within the Xiao Clan’s ability, we will not refuse.”

Xiao Zhan also stood up, responding courteously.

Then, the original annulment scene unfolded.

Ge Ye formally introduced Nalan Yanran.

Nalan Yanran sweetly greeted Xiao Zhan, and upon realizing she was his future daughter-in-law, Xiao Zhan naturally responded with warmth and enthusiasm, engaging in pleasant conversation.

However, Nalan Yanran soon felt uncomfortable with Xiao Zhan’s enthusiasm.

After all, she had come here today to annul the engagement.

If they continued chatting like this, how could she even bring it up?

Eventually, Ge Ye stepped forward and stated their purpose—annulment.

Then came the legendary scene—

The humiliated and enraged Xiao Yan stood up and delivered his iconic line.

The Three-Year Agreement was set.

Xiao Yan furiously wrote a divorce letter...

—

After the dramatic scene concluded, the three from Yun Lan Sect departed.

The hall fell into a dead silence.

The members of the Xiao Clan all had unpleasant expressions.

Though many of them had looked down on Xiao Yan in the past, mocking him frequently—

He was still one of their own.

More importantly, an esteemed guest was present today.

For such a humiliating event to take place in front of a guest, the Xiao Clan had completely lost face.

Wei Yang, holding his jade teacup, gently swirled the tea leaves floating on the surface. Every now and then, he took a small sip, remaining completely silent—merely watching the scene unfold.

After all, his purpose today was simply to witness this classic moment in person.

Watching was enough. He had no intention of interfering.

By this time, Xiao Yan, overcome with humiliation, had already left the hall.

A moment later—

Xiao Zhan finally suppressed his anger and forced out a bitter smile toward Wei Yang.

”Master Wei, you must have found this laughable.”

Wei Yang shook his head but said nothing more.

Wei Yang had no intention of commenting on another family’s private matters.

Shortly after, the conversation shifted to the previous business collaboration, as both parties proceeded with the handover of their last transaction.

The batch of Tier 1 pills from their last deal had already been sold off completely by the Xiao Clan through their distribution channels—at a good price.

The gold coins from the sales, after deducting a 20% cut for the Xiao Clan, had been used by them to acquire medicinal ingredients and Magic Cores for Wei Yang.

This was a mutually beneficial arrangement, so the Xiao Clan naturally handled it with great care.

On the table, numerous jade boxes and jade bottles were neatly arranged.

Xiao Zhan introduced, ”Here, we have over fifty sets of Tier 2 medicinal ingredients and Magic Cores, twenty-eight sets of Tier 3 ingredients and cores, three stalks of Tier 4 medicinal herbs, and one Rank 4 fire-attribute Magic Core. This is the list along with the purchase prices, please check them, Master Wei.”

As he spoke, he handed over a detailed inventory list along with a gold coin card showing a balance of seventy thousand gold coins.

Wei Yang casually glanced at the list and immediately noticed that something was off—the numbers didn’t quite add up.

Based on the listed prices, the Xiao Clan had actually spent several thousand extra gold coins.

Seeing this, Wei Yang simply nodded.

The Xiao Clan was still quite trustworthy and generous—and he was happy to accept this gesture of goodwill.

A few thousand gold coins were insignificant to him, and the Xiao Clan likely didn’t mind either.

But this was a sign of sincerity.

With a wave of his hand, Wei Yang collected everything from the table without even checking.

Satisfied, he smiled and said, ”I must have made the Xiao Clan go through quite some trouble.”

Xiao Zhan and the three elders simply chuckled, waving their hands as they exchanged polite words.

After thinking for a moment, Wei Yang waved his hand once more—and suddenly, over fifty jade bottles appeared on the table.

”These are all Tier 2 common-grade pills—some of standard quality, some of superior quality. I’ll leave them to the Xiao Clan to sell again. Shall we keep the profit split at 80-20, like before?”

”Tier 2 pills?!”

The Xiao Clan members’ eyes lit up, and their breathing turned heavy.

Fifty Tier 2 pills?

”No problem!”

Xiao Zhan and the three elders exchanged glances before nodding excitedly.

With Wei Yang’s generosity, the humiliation from the Yun Lan Sect’s annulment seemed to fade away.

After all, fifty Tier 2 pills—their value far exceeded the 163 Tier 1 pills from the previous deal.

Seeing their reaction, Wei Yang nodded and placed the gold coin card with seventy thousand gold coins back on the table.

”The profits from selling these pills—use my share to continue purchasing medicinal ingredients and Magic Cores. But this time, no more Tier 2—only Tier 3 and above. Get as much as possible. I’ll return in half a year.”

”Absolutely!” Xiao Zhan agreed without hesitation.

This was an incredible deal—only a fool would refuse.

”Master Wei, rest assured!” The three elders also responded with bright smiles.

After chatting for a while longer, Xiao Zhan hesitated before carefully asking,

”Master Wei, three months ago, you mentioned something about Yan’er... may I ask?”

The Xiao Clan members all turned to Wei Yang, their expressions slightly complex.

Wei Yang paused for a moment before replying,

”Patriach Xiao, please take me to see Brother Xiao Yan. Also, prepare a quiet place for me.”

Hearing this, Xiao Zhan was visibly excited and immediately stepped forward, leading the way.

”No problem! Master Wei, this way, please!”

With that, Wei Yang followed Xiao Zhan out of the hall.

Before leaving, Xiao Zhan discreetly signaled the three elders, subtly gesturing toward the Tier 2 pills on the table.

The three elders nodded in understanding.

Previously, out of respect for Wei Yang, they had refrained from inspecting the goods in front of him.

After all, Wei Yang hadn’t even checked the medicinal ingredients and Magic Cores they delivered earlier—so it would have been awkward to openly inspect the pills he had given them.

But now that Wei Yang had left, they could examine them freely.

After all, these were Tier 2 pills—even a single defective one could result in huge losses.

It was only natural to be cautious.
