Become A Profiteer In Isekai

Chapter 46: Chapter 44: Healing Potion

”This is so unfair!!”

”Without your help, Captain, how could he possibly have killed three Kobolds!!”

”Besides, we...”

Hearing that Mirana had actually agreed to such an unfair distribution, the Dwarf immediately became even more furious.

But she just gave him a calm look, and he instantly shut his mouth.

”Tock, be quiet.”

”...”

His face still flushed red, the Dwarf named Tock glared resentfully at Furen, said no more, and retreated, fuming.

Mirana, however, turned to look at Lu Wei again.

”We’ll split it as you said.”

’Tsk, guess you know what’s good for you.’

Lu Wei met her gaze for a moment, then nodded.

”Alright. Including this Golden Pocket Watch, that’s a total of 6 Gold Coins. We’re splitting it nine to seven. That comes out to 3 gold, 3 silver, and 70 copper for us, and 2 gold, 6 silver, and 30 copper for you.”

”If we add in this Gray Gemstone... and value it at the two Gold Coins this Dwarf said, then we’d get a total of 4 gold and 5 silver, and you’d get 3 gold and 5 silver.”

”Of course, since this gemstone is quite valuable, if you want to wait until we’re back in town and split it based on the selling price, that’s fine too.”

”But I have to make it clear beforehand, we’ll probably be staying here for another day or two. So if you want to take the gemstone, you’ll have to leave a corresponding deposit to guarantee you won’t just run off with it.”

Quickly calculating the amounts each side would receive, Lu Wei didn’t try to pull any tricks with the numbers.

Although he was a Crafty Merchant, only a Low Level one would resort to underhanded tricks like short-changing customers.

A High Level Crafty Merchant always focused on the big picture, letting the customer willingly empty their wallet!

”No, that’s too much trouble.”

On the other side, Mirana shook her head and said softly, ”You can keep the gemstone. We’ll value it at two Gold Coins.”

”Alright, then this is for you.”

Lu Wei picked out the two gold coins and 15 silver coins from the pile of money on the ground and handed them to her.

”As we just said, 3 gold and 5 silver, right?”

”That’s right.”

”Good, then we’re all settled. The remaining silver coins, plus the weapons, pocket watch, and gemstone are all ours.”

”Yes, of course.”

Casually handing the handful of gold and silver coins to the Dwarf, Mirana gave a slight nod, her expression unchanged.

She seemed completely unconcerned by such a large sum of money.

’Damn, are you not interested in money either?’

’Or maybe you just have a deadpan face?’

’Come to think of it, the woman really had been like this ever since the afternoon.’

Even when she heard that twenty Kobolds were coming to attack, she only seemed stunned for a moment.

’It can’t really be a deadpan face...’

Glancing at Mirana, Lu Wei muttered to himself, then instructed Furen and Bai Ya to gather the weapons from the ground and put them away.

As for him, he swept the remaining 12 silver coins, plus the Gold-Plated Pocket Watch and the Gray Gemstone, into his own coin purse.

The Golden Pocket Watch was nothing special, but the value given by Precise Identification for the Gray Gemstone was 2 gold and 7 silver!

So he had pocketed the ”premium” of 7 silver coins for himself!

More importantly, selling these items would also increase the completion progress for his Professional Promotion Task!

Killing two birds with one stone!

’How satisfying.’

Thinking of this, Lu Wei couldn’t help but look at Mirana again, remembering the matter she hadn’t finished talking about.

”Oh, right. What was it you wanted to tell me earlier?”

”It’s like this. As you’ve seen, one of my companions is injured.”

Seeing that Lu Wei had brought it up himself, Mirana quickly replied, ”He was actually injured two days ago. We were originally planning to take him back to town for treatment, but we didn’t expect to be attacked again tonight.”

”And the recent battle made his injuries even worse. His condition is very bad right now.”

”So I wanted to ask, do you have any Middle Level Healing Potions?”

”...A Middle Level Healing Potion?”

Lu Wei was stunned for a moment, and his gaze toward Mirana immediately turned strange.

He had guessed that she was short on medical supplies, but he never expected her to ask for a Middle Level Healing Potion right off the bat.

One had to understand that although ”Healing Potion” sounded very ordinary, seemingly no different from things like ”Hemostatic Ointment” or ”pain relief powder,”...

...in reality, it was a genuine Magic Potion!

Not only were the ingredients incredibly expensive, but it also had to be crafted by a Pharmacist who understood Alchemy!

It was completely different from ordinary medicines that any Doctor—or even an ordinary person—could make with a formula!

Of course, being so expensive, its healing effects were definitely beyond what ordinary medicine could achieve.

Just drinking it could heal all sorts of external wounds, internal injuries, and even broken bones... This alone made it a miraculous potion that could only exist in a Fantasy World. ℯℯ𝑙.

Although there were some minor differences, it could basically be understood as a Large Blood Bottle from a video game.

No matter how little health you had left, one bottle would heal you completely.

If one wasn’t enough, you’d use two.

”Do you know how much a bottle of Middle Level Healing Potion costs?”

Looking at Mirana as if she were an idiot, Lu Wei guessed that she most likely had no idea what the thing cost, which was why she would ask such an absurd question.

But to his surprise, she actually nodded and answered seriously:

”I do. Around 10 Gold Coins per bottle.”

’Wait, she actually knows?’

Lu Wei stared blankly and asked, ”Then do I look like someone who can afford a potion that costs ten gold coins a bottle?”

Mirana shook her head. ”You don’t.”

”...”

’Then why the hell are you asking???’

Eyes wide, Lu Wei was completely dumbfounded.

Mirana, however, waited a moment, then asked again tentatively, ”So, do you have one?”

The corner of Lu Wei’s mouth twitched. ”No...”

Mirana continued to ask, ”What about a Low Level one?”

”Don’t have that either...”

”A diluted one?”

”Er...”

Lu Wei’s voice faltered, because he actually did have one of those.

Healing Potions were divided into four types based on their effectiveness: Low Level, Middle Level, High Level, and potent.

In Heitai Town, almost no one bought even the Low Level potions, which cost 2 Gold Coins per bottle.

So, some potion sellers would dilute one Low Level potion into five bottles and sell them separately for 5 Silver Coins each.

This way, not only did they sell the potion, but they even made more money. It was a win-win... for the merchant, who won twice.

And the Adventurers were quite happy to buy them.

After all, even a diluted potion’s healing effect far surpassed that of ordinary medicine. If one were seriously injured, it might be the very thing that saved their life.

And the price of 5 Silver Coins was within an acceptable range.

Therefore, wealthier Adventurer Squads would usually buy a bottle to keep in reserve, just in case.

Lu Wei was no different. He had used ”public funds” to buy a bottle when stocking up before they set out.

”I do have one, but it’s the only one I’ve got.”

”Besides, we’re planning to stay in the forest for a few more days. If I give it to you, then my teammates and I will have no safety net.”

Just like any Crafty Merchant, as soon as he confirmed Mirana had ”purchasing intent,” Lu Wei immediately began to hype up the item’s value.

Deliberately putting on a troubled expression, he spread his hands helplessly.

”So I’m very sorry, but I can’t give you the potion. Please understand.”

”No, no, I’m not asking you to give it to me. I can buy it! I’ll pay a premium!”

On the other side, hearing that he actually had one, Mirana’s tone became urgent for the first time as she quickly pleaded, ”Name your price! Any amount is fine!”

’Heh! You said it, not me!’

”You... forget it. Who could say no to a friend?”

After pretending to agonize over it for another moment, Lu Wei sighed.

”Sigh... in that case, 5 Gold Coins.”

”Okay. Tock, give me five...”

Immediately turning her head to the Dwarf, Mirana started to reach for the money, but her voice suddenly trailed off in the next second.

Turning back to stare blankly at Lu Wei, she confirmed with a stunned expression:

”You said five... Gold Coins?”

”That’s right.”

Lu Wei nodded with a smile.

”It’s a bit expensive, I know, but it can’t be helped. After all, we need this potion just as badly.”

”Of course, you’re free not to buy it... assuming that uncle of yours can last until dawn.”

”Oh, wait, no. It’s a day’s journey back to town, so he’ll have to last until tomorrow night.”

”Tsk tsk. Let’s just hope he’s a tough one.”
