The Rudolph Plateau is a general term for a large area.

If there isn’t someone who knows the way, finding the tomb of the Angmar Witch King in this vast region would definitely not be easy.

Ever since entering this barren and gloomy land, Lann automatically slowed down the pace of the Qilin, falling behind Radagast.

He let the shabby Old Wizard lead the way with his rabbit sleigh.

”It’s just ahead!”

On a vast gray-black earth, an abrupt and steep mountain peak rises.

This peak stands solitary on the plateau, completely out of place with geological movement.

Considering the geological history of the Ardan World, this might have been directly created by the ancient Villas when they could still raise mountains and plan rivers on the Middle-earth Continent.

The mountain isn’t high, but it reaches seven to eight hundred meters. The strangest aspect is its shape.

It’s very sharp and pointed, as if a pile of massive rock slabs were stacked together and then placed on the plateau.

The entirety is a smoky black color.

This blackness is definitely not natural; it has nothing to do with local soil or rock composition but seems to be stained by something over the years.

”It’s an evil force.”

Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, Radagast asserted.

He stepped down from his rabbit sleigh, and his wooden magic staff knocked on the mountain’s rock wall ’thunk thunk,’ his lips curling with disdain and disgust.

”No doubt about it!”

Lann also let the Qilin and big rabbits move aside, as he and Rong Buqiu jumped down.

The Demon Hunter looked upwards; the sky in this area has never cleared, always engulfed in clouds.

Last winter’s snow still lingers on this sharp mountain.

”The tomb,” Lann frowned slightly, his gaze sweeping across the strange mountain. ”Where’s the tomb?”

Though the mountain is only seven to eight hundred meters tall, it is, after all, a mountain, vast beyond measure.

”Just follow me, come on.”

Radagast also frowned at the mountain before him, but his eyes differed from Lann’s searching gaze; he was mostly recalling.

”First count twelve rock slabs towards the east, then... Hmm!”

The Old Wizard muttered while taking off his hat, letting three small birds nesting in his hair fly out to search and confirm the route for him.

Radagast stepped forward, his ragged gray robe swaying, waving his magic staff behind him without looking back.

Meaning for Lann to stop stalling and just follow.

”Hmm, I find him unreliable, meow~”

Rong Buqiu jumped to the ground, walking forward and lifting his eyes to ask his boss with concern.

Lann shrugged: ”He’s lived for who knows how long as an Old Wizard... should be fine, probably.”

-----------------

This mountain is extremely hard to climb.

Even in the eyes of Rong Buqiu, who surpasses Lann in the Light Body Skill due to size and weight reasons, it remains the same.

The slab-like mountain body barely offers places to rest one’s feet.

And seemingly due to the mountain’s characteristics, the Northern Kingdom initially chose this location to bury the Angmar Witch King’s tomb, to prevent anyone from accessing it.

Radagast ultimately relied on his vague memory and bird inspections to find the path upward.

It involves many stone steps artificially installed on the slab-like mountain body.

These stone steps are exposed without any barriers, protruding directly from the mountain, making the hair on the back of one’s neck stand on end.

The two men and a cat began ascending the stone steps.

It has been so long since the tomb was completed, even the stones have grown brittle under the wind and rain.

The originally continuous stone steps have broken in many places.

Fortunately, those aboard are not ordinary people; even Radagast, despite his shabby aging look, is more agile than an ordinary youthful man.

The stone steps zigzag upwards, rising to halfway up the mountain at three hundred meters, where they finally open an entrance within the slab-like mountain.

Inside the entrance is a passage, as narrow as the entrance itself, barely wider than a person’s shoulder.

Just enough to accommodate someone walking normally.

For Lann, it’s narrow and cramped, requiring him to stoop and squeeze sideways to progress.

Even after passing through the passage, safety isn’t assured.

The end of the passage doesn’t offer stable ground, but rather leads into a square, unfathomably deep pit. It’s likely dug directly to the bottom of the mountain.

On the opposite side of the square pit, there is another doorway.

Inside the doorway lies deep darkness, obscuring vision.

”Bring some light, Radagast.”

What kind of magic the Wizards in this world are capable of, Lann still doesn’t quite know, but the light spell is undoubtedly secure.

Radagast, akin to blowing out a candle, puffed twice towards the crystal head of his magic staff, causing it to emit a gentle light.

The light radiates extensively.

The scene within the doorway opposite the pit is illuminated at one corner.

Originally, the doorway should have had an iron grate door, iron bars solid and heavy.

But now, the iron grate door was burst open from the inside.

A powerful force tore it open like a fabric curtain, turning the iron grate door into an opening bursting outward.

The torn, broken iron bars have rusted, indicating a long lapse since the breakthrough.

As he continued looking inside with the light from the magic staff...

”Flutter, flutter!”

Radagast’s birds darted out from the darkness, flying towards the old wizard in terror.

In that corner briefly illuminated by light, there was no neat seal...

The stone coffin, as thick as a fist, had its lid completely shattered!

The thick iron chain originally binding the stone coffin lay limp on the ground!

”This is...!”

Radagast was stunned by the sight before him.

There was a circle of loose stones by the edge of the pit where one could stand. He hurriedly held up his magic staff to illuminate the way, moving towards the entrance where the stone coffin was placed.

One hand clinging to the torn, outward-flipped iron bars of the gate, he used the glow to examine the surrounding rock wall.

”This isn’t right... This isn’t right! It shouldn’t be!”

The old wizard spoke tremulously, his aged and frantic voice echoing deeply into the darkness.

”This place is filled with malicious curses! Ancient and filled with hatred!”

”How could the people of the Northern Kingdom use such spells to bury the Angmar Witch King?! Have they been driven mad by hatred?”

”This is an evil servant!”

”You didn’t know?” Lann asked Radagast from the doorway of the passage.

”I didn’t know! I wasn’t present when they buried him!”

The Demon Hunter ground his molars: ”So is it just the Angmar Witch King here? Just him?”

”No...”

Radagast mumbled blankly, his face turning wooden.

While speaking, he extended the glowing tip of his magic staff over the pit, signaling Lann to look down.

Down in this deep pit, there were many layers.

And each layer... had a door of an iron fence torn open and flipped outward from inside!

Radagast looked up, meeting Lann’s gaze as he withdrew his head after looking down.

The disheveled old wizard’s eyes shook with panic, muttering to himself.

”The Angmar Witch King being one, the total counts to... nine!”

”Do you have to recite poetry at a time like this? Heavens!”

Lann pinched his temples in frustration.

Meanwhile, the Demon Hunter nodded to the Elu Cat behind him.

The Three-Floral Kitten let out a serious and solemn ’meow.’

Next, it nimbly and lightly darted past the crouching Lann.

After rushing out of the passageway, it jumped straight downwards.

The Elu Cat, practiced in the Light Body Skill, moved with incredible lightness, using every tiny crack on the rock wall as a point of leverage.

In the square, deep pit, the little cat jumped back and forth, inspecting each iron fence door torn from the inside.

Radagast also held his magic staff upside down, providing light to the pit.

”This layer of the coffin is already shattered, meow!”

”This layer is shattered too, meow!”

With Rong Buqiu’s observations and reports, Radagast’s face grew increasingly grim.

His grip on the magic staff tightened, and the light on the staff intensified, probing layer by layer along with Rong Buqiu.

Lann maintained his awkward crouching position, his eyes following Rong Buqiu’s lively figure, while his fingers gently traced the rock wall of the passage.

Back then, how much effort did the people of the Northern Kingdom exert to construct such a terrifying tomb?

They must have gouged out mountain walls, hollowed out passages within the mountain, and transported massive stone coffins through narrow corridors to seal them inside.

This world does indeed have magic, but from Lann’s cursory understanding of this world’s magic, it’s not too adept at creating conveniences.

For example, it hasn’t achieved much in the field of construction.

Therefore, what did the Northern Kingdom sacrifice to build such a mausoleum?

Lann quickly found out.

Rong Buqiu below explored one layer after another; for a kitten with racial talents whose Light Body Skill already matches the Lonely Shadow Group’s Ninja Leader, the nine-layered pit posed no challenge.

But when the Elu Cat’s paws reached the bottom layer of the pit, instead of the slight sound of paw pads on rock, a metallic clanging rang out.

Radagast’s magic staff extended its illumination to the bottom layer.

”Meow!”

Rong Buqiu let out a startled cry.

The bottom layer of the square pit was covered in a layer of skeletons. Because the pit was not large, likely only around ten people.

These skeletons were clad in rusty, dusty armor, the style and form unlike anything Lann had seen in this world.

”These are the Northern Kingdom soldiers’ remains!”

Radagast recognized the armor at a glance.

”They sacrificed lives for the construction of this tomb!”

Under technical limitations, deaths in arduous engineering projects are not uncommon.

Considering the curses previously identified by Radagast... with the Northern Kingdom’s hatred towards the Angmar Witch King, sacrificing lives to seal the tomb makes sense.

But the problem doesn’t end there...

After the Elu Cat’s startled cry, there was a faint sound from within the previously silent heap of skeletons.
