Bear School Astartes

In the blink of an eye, after brushing past each other, a knight and his warhorse were split into two.

Steel, flesh, bone... in front of the air blade sharpened by force, all these things were ripped apart.

When Lann first arrived in Sintra, he could sever multiple armored torsos in a row with the air blade without using his full strength.

And now with his anger fueling him, the power is even greater!

Behind the cavalry leader, a knight suddenly flipped over because a horse’s hoof was severed.

The warhorse, weighing hundreds of kilograms, with the force of its gallop, almost flattened the knight beneath it during the flip!

The ’clang’ of steel armor deforming and the dull cracking sound of bones breaking within flesh echoed together.

Further back, a knight whose arm was sliced off fell off his horse in agony.

His ankle was caught by the stirrup, dragging him along, but he was soon trampled on the chest by the hoof of the horse behind, ceasing all movement instantly.

The rapidly flowing air blade pulled out a blood curtain that can only be described as colossal from the mangled flesh!

That was the volume of blood sprayed from an entire horse and a whole human body.

These mixed blood droplets, even beyond the air blade’s killing range, splashed onto the subsequent cavalrymen, covering their heads and faces.

”Neigh!”

”Damn it! What the hell is this?”

The cavalrymen behind hadn’t even reacted yet when their helmets were smeared with a layer of thick blood plasma and flesh paste.

The Niflgaard Army’s warhorse armor employs a small grill-like protection over the horse’s eyes.

This ensures the warhorse retains a degree of vision while safeguarding its vulnerable areas from stray arrows and such.

But such protection cannot handle the splattering blood curtain.

Warhorses might not fear blood, but such a dense and abundant liquid flying into their eyes, even causing pain upon impact, is far from normal.

Seven or eight warhorses from the following cavalry squad let out terrified screams, though they were well-trained and continued to gallop, their strides and directions were disrupted, threatening the entire cavalry formation.

And as the opposing side displayed formation flaws, Lann, wielding the Lady of the Lake’s Sword, abruptly launched again!

Spiral air currents wrapped around his legs, stirring up the dust on the ground, making him seem as if walking on smoke.

A speed technique from the Old Hunter’s leg bone!

Heartless Flow: Shrink Ground!

With a ’swoosh’, Lann’s figure cut into the enemy’s cavalry formation like a sharp knife!

He held the Lady of the Lake’s Sword horizontally beside him, and just as he passed, the unmatched sharp divine weapon swept over the bodies of the warhorses and knights like cutting through tofu.

Cries from severed limbs and neighs from warhorses with slit flanks even waited for Lann’s body to pass before ringing out.

Lann himself lowered his left shoulder, preparing to brace for impact.

”Boom!!!”

From the cavalry leader being split in two till Lann activated acceleration took two seconds, and from Lann’s next sprint until this loud, resonant steel-on-steel collision reverberated, only three seconds passed.

The shoulder armor of the Grandmaster Bear School Armor collided with the side of a horizontally positioned warhorse!

The knight’s legs were instantly crushed into debris, fierce sparks were the first outcome between the warhorse’s armor and the Demon Hunter’s shoulder armor, and then the heavy steel warhorse armor demonstrated a wave-like force feedback in Lann’s temporal perception.

It was just like being horizontally rammed by a full-speed large truck.

The warhorse’s four hooves lifted off the ground instantly, its body bent into a V shape!

Blood sprayed out from the warhorse’s mouth and nostrils.

”Neigh!”

Three tons of basic force, combined with nearly three hundred kilograms of own weight, and the velocity enhanced by the speed technique...

The accumulated kinetic energy allowed Lann to directly ram a warhorse with a shoulder height approaching one meter seventy, armored, and send it flying!

The horse dragging three charging knights from behind into its trajectory.

Five seconds after the cavalry unit encountered Lann, this once over thirty-strong cavalry squad... only had twelve men left.

Efficient and explosive slaughter.

That is the goal and emblem of the Interstellar Warriors.

If a tactical objective can be achieved within one second, never delay it to the second.

Blood, intestines steaming with white heat on the muddy ground, horses and humans whining in their last agony...

Everything happened too fast, too suddenly.

The Niflgaard people behind the cavalry squad stared dumbfounded at this scene unfolding before them, even forgetting to string their bows and crossbows.

Meanwhile, the cavalrymen who passed by Lann inevitably collided into Stuart’s cavalry squad amidst panic and disarray.

The outcome speaks volumes.

And further back within the refugee group, Ged abruptly stood up, shouting.

”Advance! Maintain formation and move forward!”

Though this command had indeed been shouted by Stuart, the subsequent scene had startled these refugees who had never been on a battlefield, prompting Ged to remind them again.

The armed refugees from the refugee group showed poor performance, even though the enemy’s arrow rain had nearly ceased, they still whined while inching forward with tears in their eyes.

Squandering the precious opportunity on the battlefield.

But there’s nothing to blame here, after all, they’d only wielded weapons for a few hours.

On the other hand, Lann had charged into the Niflgaard people’s phalanx like a hot knife slicing through butter.

These soldiers indeed carried high quality, as that is the unruly backbone of the Niflgaard Empire.

Initially, just as Lann expected, his efficient execution speed that shocked to numbness almost stupefied these men.

They’d never encountered a foe like Lann; neither had their military training courses ever prepared them for dealing with someone like him.

Hence, a state of chaos ensued.

However, at the back of the Niflgaard’s phalanx, five knights subtly stood apart.

Their leader’s expression changed from amazement upon seeing Lann, to shock, disbelief, and panic upon seeing him suddenly reduce the cavalry unit by half.

Slowly transformed into contemplation, comprehension.

He, Darkley, indeed got ahead of the refugee group through deduction.

And when he first laid eyes on Lann today, he instantly knew he encountered a big fish!

The big fish that both Vatier Liddox and the Emperor wished to eliminate—

Lann of Sintra, the Hunting Marquis!

This was even the reason their unit was assembled!

Boundless fortune lay near him, his breath quickened as a result.

But immediately after, when Lann truly began his assault... Darkley’s blood of greed boiling rapidly turned cold like the surrounding air.

He realized the rumors about the Hunting Marquis circulating in the market weren’t exaggerated; if anything, those damn bards likely toned them down for credibility!

Reducing a cavalry unit of over thirty riders by half in one instant of direct confrontation?!

...The rumor about him single-handedly taking down over two hundred infantrymen seemed far too conservative, didn’t it?

But just when he felt chilled and was preparing to lead his men in direct retreat.

His gaze unintentionally drifted to the refugee group, Stuart’s cavalry unit... until it set off a lightbulb ’oh’ at the corner of his mouth.
