Be Gentle, My Master

Marry, and marry one of two brothers!

Baili Xia was completely panicked!

No wonder Mu Lingchuan disliked her so much.

Turns out he thought she not only wanted to take advantage of the Mu family but also wanted to marry him or his brother?

So in their eyes, she was a greedy woman, who, like a toad, was trying to eat swan meat?

Ah!

This wasn’t her idea, ok?

She really felt wronged; she didn’t know what was happening at all!

“I want to clear things with grandfather!” she said, turning to leave.

Ye Ying was startled by her sudden departure and quickly stepped forward to block her.

There was anxiety in his eyes: “Xiaxia, you know the old master’s health is not good, his condition is really bad, he has been putting on a brave face so you wouldn’t find out.”

“Ye Ying…” Baili Xia raised her head to look at him.

“Xiaxia, don’t make a scene with the old master for now, let him be happy for a while.” This was the consensus of most of Mu family, even if the eldest and second sons weren’t happy, their thinking was at least the same as his.

He shook his head, looking at her earnestly: “You are young, talks of marriage or not are just the old man’s wishful thinking, understand?”

So, he was also hoping to pretend he did not know about this matter, as long as it could make the old man happy, he would let him do as he pleased, right?

“You’re a sensible girl, I thank you on behalf of the old master.”

…

At eight-thirty in the evening, the banquet officially began.

Tonight, the old master was exceptionally happy, leading a seventeen-eighteen year old, delicate girl around in the crowd.

He introduced her to everyone saying that she was his old war buddy’s granddaughter, and also his granddaughter.

Although Baili Xia’s surname wasn’t Mu, after tonight everyone definitely remembered her as Miss Mu.

Baili Xia did not like this situation very much.

She was not from a big family and she didn’t like being the center of attention.

So, taking advantage of the time when the old master was called away by a few old friends, she hurriedly escaped the venue and ran to the backyard to catch her breath.

The banquet was going on in the front yard and the backyard was quiet, hardly anyone will be seen.

On her way here, except for encountering two patrolling bodyguards, she had not seen anyone else.

All the servants were serving guests in the front yard, and quietness prevailed here.

She had been here during the day, and she didn’t expect that when night fell, the place had a different unique charm.

Walking on the tree-lined trail, she could faintly see Uncle’s Sihai Residence to the east.

For some reason, she had developed a liking for that place inexplicably.

The red walls and green tiles were really refreshing and soothing.

“Want to go take a look?” Suddenly, a deep male voice sounded from behind.

This voice… Baili Xia gasped, her heart tightened.

No!

That’s not possible!

She had already escaped to this place, how could she encounter that man?

It couldn’t be, absolutely not!

She didn’t want to turn around, pretending she had heard wrong.

Nobody was talking to her, nobody!

Everything was just her illusion!

But unfortunately, her beautiful dream was quickly shattered!

The man behind her didn’t say anything more, he just stretched out his long arm and suddenly pulled her towards him.

Then, she was lifted sideways in his arms, before she could scream, his large palm fell on her lips, covering her small mouth forcefully.

“Mmm…” Baili Xia struggled hard, but couldn’t break free from his grip.

The scenery around was swiftly changing; before she knew it, the red walls and green tiles were already conspicuously in front of her.

Sihai Residence, she was brought in, just like that!
