Chapter 39: Death Of President
Nancy and her Mother – Living RoomNancy and her mother stood frozen, horror clear as they watched the unthinkable scene unfold. The broadcast replayed the brutal execution of Elria’s President, the man who had led this city with unwavering resolve...was gone...just like that.

Ms. Winters gripped the edge of the table, her face pale. ”It’s impossible...”

Nancy’s heart pounded wildly. She couldn’t process it—how had everything fallen apart in mere seconds? The President... dead... And Tyson—he was right there, caught in the chaos. She clenched her trembling hands. That monster of a man was there... Does that mean Tyson would have to face him?

Her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the sofa, trying to steady herself. However, no deep breathing could calm the rising dread in her chest.

Elria City - Times Square

On a massive digital screen, the lifeless body of the President filled every part of the display. The man they had trusted and admired was gone in an instant.

Gasps echoed through the crowd. For a fleeting moment, stunned silence enveloped the scene as its weight became apparent. Suddenly, a single, heart-wrenching scream broke the quiet.

”NO! NO! IT CAN’T BE!” a man shouted, his voice hoarse with anguish.

”He—he killed our President!” a woman shrieked,

”This is the end!” someone else cried.

Then, chaos erupted.

People pushed and stumbled, driven by a wave of panic. Some ran without direction, colliding with one another, while others desperately tried to navigate through the growing crowd. Parents shouted for their children. Elderly citizens were swept aside, their cries drowned out by the overwhelming chaos. They were trying to escape their fear.

Emily stood frozen, her body trembling. She had gone out for a simple stroll when the news hit the airwaves. People believed that, as always, the President would handle the situation one way or another. But now... now he was gone.

A hand yanked her arm, causing her to stumble forward. ”Move!” someone shouted, almost knocking her off balance.

Emily clutched a streetlight pole, holding onto it like a lifeline. The air was thick and suffocating with the scent of sweat, blood, and fear.

Gunshots echoed in the distance as security forces attempted to regain control. There was chaos and no reasoning, and people trampled over fallen bodies in their frantic attempt to escape. The streets were filled with screams and cries of despair.

Officials yelled into megaphones, attempting to regain control. ”STAY CALM! STAY...”

An officer was tackled to the ground while another officer was shoved against a wall as the crowd attempted to run, as if Coco himself were there.

It was complete Chaos.

Emily squeezed her eyes shut, pressing against the cold metal pole. ”God save us.”

A Utopia – Humanity’s Strongest City

In the shadowy war room, military leaders remained silent like phantoms. While their city had not yet fallen victim to the chaos in Elria, they clarified its underlying reasons.

The Rogues.

Those who rejected order and defied the norms. Even within Utopia, powerful Rogues lurked in the shadows. With Coco’s victory broadcast worldwide, a dangerous possibility loomed—this could become a rallying cry. If the Rogues viewed this as a turning point, their enemies could be emboldened, pushing them toward drastic action. Elria’s chaos might spread like wildfire.

A chair scraped across the floor. A man stood, his silhouette faintly visible in the dim light, yet the fury emanating from him was unmistakable.

”You’ve done it, Coco,” he seethed, his voice carrying a dangerous edge.

A young man with golden hair tied in a neat bun stood rigidly across from him, watching intently. His father rarely displayed anger—never lost his composure. But now, in this moment, even he had reached his breaking point. That alone spoke volumes about the situation.

Each city operated like an independent nation, governed by its own rules and regulations. If Elria fell into chaos, others viewed it as an opportunity—a moment of weakness to exploit, a chance to seize resources and power.

But not Utopia,

Unlike the others, Utopia was the mightiest city in humanity. It did not engage in territorial disputes or scavenging like lesser cities. It had always prioritized its growth, and its power was unchallenged. No city dared to oppose it.

After all, the strongest man in the world was from Utopia.

”General!” a lieutenant called urgently. ”The President is on the line.”

The General took the receiver without hesitation. ”Don’t worry,” he assured, ”As long as I’m here, no Rogue will dare raise their voices.”

”I know,” a woman’s voice responded from the other end. ”Still, I would feel more at ease if the General himself came and delivered a warning.”

The General exhaled.

”Fine.” His tone conveyed neither reluctance nor eagerness. ”I need to see how they’re holding up anyway.”

”Father,” a voice called out.

Mark, the general’s son, stepped forward. ”I’d like to join you.”

The General returned the phone to the officer and turned to his son, studying him momentarily. ”You should. After all, you need to learn how to handle situations like this,”

”General!” an officer urged. ”What if other nations view this as a chance to take Elria?”

The General paused momentarily before responding. ”Only a fool would believe this is an opportunity.” His gaze darkened. ”But this world is filled with fools. Still, as long as he is there, it won’t be an issue.”

---

Inside a small tent in Elria City, a mother held her children tightly, her body trembling as tears streamed down her face. Her eyes were wide with fear, and their phone lay face down on the ground, yet the deafening news blared from the speakers, a constant reminder of the horror unfolding. The voice on the screen was filled with cold finality.

”We are doomed!”

The words hung in the air like a death sentence, and their weight crushed any sense of hope. Her heart pounded violently in her chest as she held her children closer, as if doing so could somehow shield them from the impending chaos. Once a beacon of prosperity, the city outside now felt like a cage. Fear gripped the air; the world had turned upside down, and there was nowhere to hide from it.

As the news of the President’s execution spread across every platform, the buzz on social media grew into a violent storm. Once hopeful and united under banners of victory, the hashtags took on a darker and more chaotic tone.

The comments section erupted with mixed emotions, thousands of voices crying out in unison,

”Is this real?!”

”This can’t be happening! Our leader is gone just like that?”

”The rogues have gone too far! We need our revenge!”

”The end of an era...”

Among the angry, some couldn’t comprehend the loss.

”What should we do now? Who will lead us now?”

”We had faith in him. How could this occur?”

People stood frozen in fear, watching the lifeless body of the President flash across screens. It wasn’t merely a political death—it was the end of a symbol, of everything that had kept their society together.

”WE ARE IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY; please remain calm... Authorities will address the situation shortly.”

However, the message failed to resonate with the people. Panic spread like wildfire, sparking fear throughout the cities. In Elria, on the streets and in every corner of the world, citizens were frightened by the moment’s violence.

Social media has transformed into a battleground of opinions, with each side accusing the other and blaming everything from the government’s failure to prevent such an attack to the inherent weakness of the Rangers to protect them.

A silver and black metallic figure stood motionless atop the rooftop, witnessing the chaos unfolding beneath him. The scene below was nothing short of apocalyptic. People trampled one another in frantic desperation, terrified they might be the next in line for bloodshed.

Edward’s mind was flooded with images of the man he had once called a friend, now lying lifeless—the same person he grew up with, now fallen by the hands of another friend.

He staggered, his breath shallow behind the mask, struggling to grasp the enormity of what had just transpired. He had tried to reach the scene in time, fought against the chaos, but his best had fallen short. Once again, he had failed to protect those he cared for.

He slammed his fist onto the rooftop concrete, letting out a frustrated roar. The impact resonated as the floor beneath him cracked, echoing in the red-hued sky.

His heart was heavy with guilt, his mind a whirlwind of helplessness. Every instinct screamed that he should have been there sooner and could have done more—but now, it was too late.

He was too late.

”Coco!”
