Chapter 30: Chapter- 30: Suspects

”Good morning everyone, I am Riza Curtis, your class teacher”

Riza Curtis, a magic theory teacher. She is a dark attribute user and excels in control type magic.

Although she is an alumni of this academy, I don’t know about her background except that she belongs to some magician’s family.

Her life, from after the graduation and before coming back to the academy as a teacher is unknown.

That’s why she is one of the suspects who can be that hidden evil magic user.

Of course, she’s not the only suspect I have in mind, but she is the most suspicious one.

I will carefully observe every one of the suspects and try to find the evidence.

”Alright, we will start the class with everyone’s introduction, let’s start with the front row”

[Author: *Skip Button*]

......

It is the fourth shift, the Exorcism Class.

Yep, as the name suggests, it teaches us about how to deal with evil spirits and curses.

In this world, there’s even a magic attribute that gives the user the power to apply curses on others.

Most of those people with curse attributes mostly end up becoming evil magic users.

There also exists evil spirits that haunt people and can cause them mental breakdown.

Therefore this new subject was added in the course a few years ago.

”And that’s how you can get rid of the blood burning curse”

The teacher explained.

He is a middle aged man in his thirties, he has a lean structure and pale complexion.

Albert Carson, a teacher and an exorcist, his attribute is taming but not beast taming. It’s a unique attribute ’Spirit Taming’, he can tame vengeful spirits.

And he is my second suspect, who can be an evil magic user.

I mean his attribute is spirit taming, his personality is weird and he doesn’t have a family. In addition he also has knowledge in curses.

”That’s it for today, it is only the first day so class ends here. We will have longer classes starting tomorrow”

Albert said as he took his black notebook that he was teaching from and left the class

It was the last period for today since it’s only the first day, which means we can also leave.

”Finally! it was really so boring sitting still in the class”

Ian said with an exaggerated sigh.

Unlike the modern world, these noble kids have not attended school before this, and are mostly taught by home tutors so it is kind of new to them.

”It’s only for today, we will also have to attend practical classes and specialized classes starting tomorrow between these”

Practical classes are like PT classes but based more on magic and combat.

On the other hand specialized classes have a broad range.

Different types of specialized classes are held on different days of the week, some are optional while some are compulsory.

Right now we are on our way to the academy’s gate.

The dormitory is inside the academy’s campus, we are just handing around since the classes ended sooner than expected.

”So what will you be doing for today?”

Lily asked Elena when we reached the academy’s gate.

Lily commutes from her home so she will be going back.

As for Elena, it must be boring because she doesn’t know her roommate Hina that well.

”I don’t have any plans. What about you Kai?” Elena asked me instead.

She is now pretty comfortable addressing me without any title or honorific, maybe the embarrassment was only a one time thing

”Well, I am thinking about going to the Battle Arena”

[Author: You may already know what battle arena means so I am not gonna waste your time on the explanation]

”What? You didn’t tell me, I will join you too”

Ian said while rubbing his hands like he is ready to enter a fight.

”Me too. I don’t have anything to do anyway”

Elena added with some eagerness. Her passion for battles is still as strong as before.

”Then, can I come too?”

Lily asked.

”Why not, you can watch from the audience if you don’t want to participate”

”Wait! You are going to participate!?”

Lily asked in surprise at Elena’s word.

”Of course, otherwise why would we go there”

”But isn’t that really dangerous? I thought you were only going to watch the fights”

Lily asked with some concern.

Maybe she hasn’t been to the battle arena yet.

”Don’t worry Lily, we are very strong”

𝘐 ’𝘵 ’𝘴 𝘢 .

I chuckled inwardly on Elena’s carefree attitude.

”There’s no need to worry, I will contact my escort knight Dalas. He is staying in the capital just in case I need any help”

I added.

Dalas might just be a magic user, but his defensive magic might not be inferior to a normal grand mage.

Even if some unexpected incident happens, I can deal with it with his assistance.

We are going to come back early anyway, most of the strong fighters battles later.

”So when are we going?”

”First, let’s everyone go back and change, we will leave after an hour. We can pick up lady Lily on our way”

I answered Elena’s question.

After deciding the timing and the meeting place, we see Lily off and head back to the dormitory.

”Seems like you have participated in quite a lot of battles since last time”

I asked Elena.

By the last time I mean on my previous birthday when she was also in the cerulean city.

We had been to the battle arena at that time, but we were still very new and we were also accompanied by Elena’s parents as well.

”Not much, I am just halfway through the copper rank”

Elena replied with a beaming smile, I think she is quite proud of it.

There are five levels in the battle arena; Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold and diamond.

She is already halfway through the second rank means halfway from reaching the silver rank.

Well it’s quite an amazing feat with her age.
