Chapter 562: Forbidden Creature

When he was stared at by the giant head’s blood-colored eye, Meng Chuan could sense his will being suppressed.

Huh? This force was crazy and cold. It carried extreme malice as it attempted to destroy Meng Chuan’s consciousness. However, as an Essence Soul Fifth Tribulation Eminence, Meng Chuan was extremely powerful when it came to spiritual cultivation. His willpower far exceeded that of a Physical Body Fifth Tribulation Eminence.

The moment he was affected by the aura, Meng Chuan instinctively resisted it.

That’s… Meng Chuan was alarmed. He carefully looked at the massive head that was 500 kilometers tall with a black curved horn. He looked at the chains that were embedded in its head, completely sealing its strength. A forbidden creature?

This was the first time Meng Chuan had seen a forbidden creature.

One of the dossiers left behind by Ancestral Master Archean Eon focused on forbidden lifeforms. Forbidden existences represented disaster, destruction, and great sin.

In the vast outer realm, there were many special lifeforms. However, one of them was the most special. It was even more special than pure-blooded dragons and phoenixes. It was even specially singled out by Tribulation Eminences out of all the special lifeforms. It was called a forbidden creature!

The birth of a forbidden creature was a mystery. One could be born anywhere in the outer realm, but their numbers were extremely low.

The strengthening of a forbidden creature was different from all cultivators. As long as it devoured other lifeforms, it would become stronger. Even a forbidden creature that had reached the Sixth Tribulation realm could slowly devour low-level worlds. A forbidden creature at the Seventh Tribulation realm could devour middle-level worlds. A legendary Eighth Tribulation forbidden creature could even devour large-sized words.

However, an Eighth Tribulation forbidden creature was even rarer than an ordinary Eighth Tribulation Eminence. They could be treated as myths.

Apart from becoming stronger by consuming life, it also had a special trait—its lifespan was extremely long. To a certain extent, it could exist forever! Of course, only its body existed permanently.

Without any end to its lifespan, its body could live forever. However… its consciousness would eventually decay and collapse after a long period of time. A new consciousness would be born in its body. From life’s perspective, this was already a new life.

If a forbidden creature wanted to become powerful, it had to devour cultivators. It could even devour entire inhabited worlds in the future. Other lifeforms naturally regarded forbidden creatures as sins, so they were known as sinful creates.

Forbidden creatures were the common enemy of all life.

A forbidden creature at the Sixth Tribulation realm was actually captured alive. Meng Chuan was secretly astonished. A forbidden creature at this level already has an undying body.

Killing a forbidden creature below the Sixth Tribulation realm wasn’t too difficult. But once a forbidden creature reached the Sixth Tribulation realm, they could hide their Life Core. Even if their bodies were destroyed time and time again, they could quickly recover. They had undying bodies. Only by finding the Life Core could they kill or capture a Sixth Tribulation forbidden creature alive. Therefore, it was very difficult to kill or capture one alive.

Whoosh.

Meng Chuan calmed his mind and looked at the other Tribulation Eminences.

The three Fifth Tribulation Eminences—the proud, cold Palace Lord Snowjade, the smiling Old Fiend Black Wind, and the slightly curious Ta Gu—were also alarmed.

This stranger isn’t affected by the blood-colored vertical eye’s stare? Palace Lord Snowjade and Old Fiend Black Wind spent several seconds to withstand the impact. Ta Gu, who was already prepared for this, took about three seconds to resist it successfully.

What about Meng Chuan? He completely resisted it.

His spiritual cultivation is very strong. He might be at the Essence Soul Fifth Tribulation realm, guessed Ta Gu, and his eyes lit up. It’s worth befriending him.

Essence Soul Fifth Tribulation realm? Black Wind’s smile became even warmer.

The higher the Tribulation realm, the fewer Essence Soul Tribulation Eminences there were. They also became more useful.

“I’m Ta Gu from Shura Realm,” said Ta Gu.

Black Wind chuckled. “My name is Black Wind. I’m from the Yufang River System.”

While the two of them showed their friendliness to the white-haired man, Snowjade remained silent with a cold expression.

Meng Chuan smiled. “Greetings everyone, I’m Eastcalm.”

It was very difficult for a Fifth Tribulation Eminence to be killed. Therefore, there was no need for them to form a deep grudge unless absolutely necessary.

“The other living beings in the cave abode have already given up on advancing,” said the man with the snake tail. His voice resounded throughout the cave. “Now, the final victor will emerge from the four of you. Only the final victor can enter the cave abode and obtain the most important treasure in this cave abode’s opening.”

Ta Gu’s eyes lit up. He knew how valuable this cave abode’s treasures were.

Meng Chuan, Snowjade, and Black Wind were also filled with anticipation.

Meng Chuan and company knew that the owner of the cave abode wouldn’t be stingy, especially when one took into account the captured Sixth Tribulation forbidden creature, which was kept alive so that its energy could power the cave abode.

“We have four people here. How do we compete? A battle royale?” asked Black Wind.

“Master has long set the rules,” said the snake-tailed man smilingly. “I’ll preside over the cave abode’s final battle. I will expel whoever doesn’t follow the cave abode’s rules. If the rules are followed, you will receive a reward, even if you ultimately fail,” said the man with the snake tail.

Meng Chuan, Palace Lord Snowjade, Old Fiend Black Wind, and Ta Gu obediently followed the rules, no matter how high their talent was, how arrogant they were, or how powerful their background was. It was better to follow the rules in a cave abode created by an unknown Seventh Tribulation Eminence.

The snake-tailed man flipped his hand, and four stones appeared in his palm. Two were dark-red, and two were pale-white.

“I’ll randomly throw these four stones out, which will fly towards you separately. Those who obtain the same color will be in the same group,” said the man with the snake tail calmly. “The people in each group will fight one another until one side admits defeat or is killed. Only then will the winner be decided. The winner of those battles will engage in another battle… to decide the final victor.”

With that said, four stones floated high in the air.

Bam!

Invisible waves struck the four rocks. The four rocks rolled and collided, but they flew towards Meng Chuan and company strangely and precisely.

A pale-white stone flew towards Meng Chuan.

Meng Chuan looked at the pale-white stone in front of him and noticed a pale white stone in front of Black Wind. Black Wind smiled at Meng Chuan. “Brother Eastcalm, it looks like I’ll fight you first.”

Meng Chuan nodded slightly. Of the three people in front of him, he only knew a little more about Palace Lord Snowjade.

Meng Chuan had bought information about Three Bay River System’s experts at Eternal Tower, but he didn’t know about Black Wind and Ta Gu.

“You and me?” Ta Gu looked at Snowjade. There were dark-red stones in front of them. They clearly had to fight each other.

“According to the order of arrival,” said the man with the snake tail as he pointed at Snowjade and Ta Gu, “the two of you will fight first. As for the other two, watch from the side. You are not to interfere.”

…

Meng Chuan and Old Fiend Black Wind arrived beside the gigantic head. They stood in a corner with the snake-tailed man. At the same time, an array formation rose and enveloped 90% of the cave. It also enveloped Snowjade and Ta Gu.

The spectators were naturally outside the array formation, unable to interfere with the battle.

“Before the outcome is decided, the two of you are unable to leave the array formation zone,” said the snake-tailed man. “You may begin.”

Snowjade stood there like an unmovable iceberg. At the same time, an invisible chill spread out, filling the entire array formation.

Ta Gu completely retracted his aura and allowed the frosty aura to attack him.

Neither party was in a hurry to attack.

Meng Chuan, who was outside the formation, looked up when he approached the giant head. He saw the sinful creature’s mountain-like teeth. The aura emitted by this sinful creature was much stronger than before.

This sinful creature’s aura and intent are somewhat similar to Saber of Nirvana.

Saber of Nirvana was Meng Chuan’s first technique to reach the Heaven Earth realm. However, he realized that the technique had flaws. Due to it being flawed, he couldn’t use it to cultivate his body and Essence Soul. Therefore, he deliberately slowed down.

If I use Saber of Nirvana as the core to my body cultivation and Essence Soul cultivation, my life force might be close to that of a forbidden creature.

Only after Infinite Saber reached the perfected Heaven Earth realm did he dare to cultivate Saber of Nirvana with full effort.

After all, Tribulation realm cultivation focused on controlling spacetime and all laws beneath it. However, before one’s foundation was strong enough, some laws couldn’t be studied deeply. There would be many terrifying consequences if one studied certain laws too deeply with a weak foundation.

Meng Chuan’s current foundation was sufficient. However, Saber of Nirvana remained at the Heaven Earth Realm’s late stage. It was only one step away from reaching the perfected Heaven Earth realm.

Saber of Nirvana, perfected Heaven Earth realm? Meng Chuan sensed the forbidden creature’s aura that resembled Nirvana. Ideas came to his mind. He naturally began to refine Saber of Nirvana and pushed it towards perfection.
