Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2216: Stealing time

The shock of the three people and one dragon was beyond measure.

When had the Slave Race ever been so severely injured!

Previously, there were only situations where the myriad races of the universe, like toys, were wiped out by the Slave Race in a few moves, with experts unable to even get close while they remained unharmed.

But now, a single strong individual, using himself and the power of an entire planet, had severely wounded the Slave Race!

The three people and one dragon watched with utmost focus. They saw blood clots everywhere, saw the almost transparent blood of the Slave Race, saw eerie symbols representing unknown things, saw dense, fist-sized rubber balls...

This adult Slave Race had lost most of its body and could no longer care about anything else. It used its remaining tentacles to flap vigorously, moving away from the planet. It seemed not to be moving fast, but in reality, every second, it moved at least a thousand kilometers away from the planet.

The light around the strong individual faded, revealing his aged body.

Even so, he still emanated an aura that made people submit and worship.

From his eyes, it was clear that he wanted to continue chasing the Slave Race, but obviously, his current condition no longer allowed him to do so.

But he clearly did not give up. One hand lightly pointed at the retreating Slave Race. A somewhat faint symbol instantly crossed the considerable distance and landed on the Slave Raceʼs body.
The imprint of that symbol immediately appeared on the Slave Raceʼs back, clearly visible under the light of the star.

After that, the Slave Race moved away even faster, and the strong individual did not make any further moves.

The three people and one dragon watched the Slave Race gradually move away from the planet, disappearing into the depths of space.

After the Slave Race was gone, the strong individual began to move. He moved around in the vicinity, grabbing the scattered chunks of Slave Race flesh in outer space and then eating them, one by one...

He truly ate them. The three people and one dragon marveled at this individualʼs digestive ability. The smallest of these chunks of flesh was the size of a building, and the largest might be larger than Greenland. But regardless, the strong individual ate them all, bite by bite.

As these chunks of Slave Race flesh entered his stomach, the strong individualʼs aged condition improved, even reversing back toward youth.

He only stopped after eating all the chunks of flesh left by the Slave Race. Then he waved his hands repeatedly, absorbing all the eerie symbols from the Slave Raceʼs body into his own body, placing them in the area of his right chest, where he created a transparent region. Inside, those crowded symbols tumbled around, seeming to want to break out, but they had no way against the transparent bubble that wrapped them.

The final step was that the strong individual sucked all the rubber balls together and then returned to the planet with them, like a long ribbon.

The video ended here.

It took a long time for the three people and one dragon to wake up from their own emotions.

Compared to the first thirty percent, this second set of explanation right was truly too shocking.

The first time, there had been magnificent wars, the grandeur and cruelty of racial battle, and intense emotions, such as despair and hope.

At the time, they had felt that it was already very shocking, that it had carved deep marks in their hearts, marks that would surely accompany them for life.

But only after seeing this time did they understand what true shock was.

That level of battle left them unable to calm their emotions for a long time.

It was beyond their recognition. It was hard for them to imagine that life could reach that level.

At the same time, this battle gave them hope, but also despair.

The hope was that they learned that life could eventually go against the Slave Race on its own. That was the hope of defeating these cosmic parasites.

But the despair was that it seemed no one could reach that level.

The strong individual had only reached that height by absorbing the energy of an unknown number of lifeforms. Without the necessity of a last stand, it seemed no race was willing to sacrifice so much.

What was more, even at the strong individualʼs level, he had only severely wounded the Slave Race, not killed it.

”Alright, stop thinking about it. At least we know more things now,” White Robe said with a sigh, then clapped his hands. ”We now know that the Slave Raceʼs bodies are not truly invincible. We know that their tentacles can not only whip but also stab. And we know that their most terrifying attack is those light balls emitted by the tentacles. Their stats should be...”

”Stealing life or time.”

Ye Zhongming suddenly said.

He had suspected this when he saw that scene, and he leaned more toward the latter.

The Slave Race wrapped planets to feed. In essence, they were stealing life, using other lives to supplement their own.

Perhaps all of nature was like that in essence, but the Slave Raceʼs method was closer to pillaging, more unacceptable.

And those light clusters directly aged the strong individual. Perhaps they stole life, but Ye Zhongming had observed very carefully and clearly remembered that after the attack, the Slave Race had not improved its own injuries because of this. At most, it had only stolen, depriving the strong individual of most of his vitality.

As for stealing time, that was what Ye Zhongming was more inclined to believe. Although it sounded mysterious, Ye Zhongming had some basis for it.

When the Slave Race launched this attack, the light balls fell on the energy shield that the strong individual was holding up, and no substantial change occurred. That is, there was no light, no sound, no explosion, no tremour.

It seemed as if nothing had happened, yet it had a real effect. There must have been something that was hit for this to happen. Was it life? That should correspond to severe physical injury, not aging. Time was the most likely.

Although this was Ye Zhongmingʼs guess, he did not think it was a good thing. Because once hit by this kind of attack from the Slave Race, even if one could escape, what then? Oneʼs life would still have come to an end.

”I really want to know what the remaining forty percent is,” White Robe said in a regretful tone.

They had already decided to choose to teleport out after this stage ended, not to continue the trials. Because even with their greatly increased strength, they had no confidence in getting through the fourth stage of trials. Rather than take the risk, it was better to stop while they were ahead.

They could not help but wonder in their hearts what the remaining ʼvideoʼ was, that it was even more important than the first two ʼthirty percentsʼ, occupying forty percent of the content.

At this moment, the energy door began to display the reward points for the three people and one dragon from the final round of this stage.

But before the several people could look at them in detail, their images suddenly shrunk. They, who had occupied the entire energy door, now only occupied about one tenth of the space, and at the very bottom.

And above their images were nine rows of other lifeform images!
