Chapter 1291: Chapter 986: Alone

”Did he really say that?”

In Deer’s Sing Hall, Naito was already dumbstruck, repeatedly confirming.

Still, it was unbelievable.

”He actually dares to go against the Jurisdiction Bureau?” Naito exclaimed, ”That guy, he’s even throwing away his biggest safety net? Truly ridiculous...”

Once the situation escalates further, and the relationship with the Jurisdiction Bureau breaks down, leading to the loss of recognition from the Astronomical Society, Tanbo without the protection of its decree is nothing but a piece of meat on the chopping board.

That Dongxia Man has finally gone mad!

Good.

Couldn’t be better.

Naito laughed heartily, then raised his head to issue the command again, ”At this point, the conflict between Tanbo and the Yingzhou Jurisdiction Bureau has intensified, there is no need for the existence of the Spirit Reasoning Club anymore.”

He said, ”Send out the Evil Ghosts, clean them all up, keep it tidy, don’t leave any clues.”

After pondering for a moment, he issued another command, ”Send some people to protect William, don’t let him die. Encourage him to stoke the flames... Tell him, once things succeed, I’ll recommend the Alliance of Wanderers for a position in the Tanbo Parliament! Making him the Speaker is not impossible.”

”Yes!”

The subordinates took their orders and left.

As for Naito, after carefully scrutinizing the report in front of him, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. There’s no need to do anything else, just wait for the seeds planted to germinate.

What’s more enjoyable than sitting back and watching the enemy sabotage themselves?

.

Two hours later, Old William raised his head in shock, staring at the envoy in front of him.

”What you’re saying is true?”

”Of course.” The envoy conveyed the words from Shangfeng seriously, ”Funds, international support — as long as you can open up the situation, there’s no problem.”

”Rest assured, leave it to me!”

After confirming the account balance again, William smiled and assured, ”Bleeding to the last drop for our fellow countrymen is our unquestionable duty!”

The envoy had already left silently.

And William, walked forward, energized.

An inspiring speech was about to begin once again.

The old houses in the old city district were immersed in a fervent atmosphere, while in the quiet night afar, only the cries of the iron crow faintly echoed.

.

The surging undercurrent wasn’t just limited to within Tanbo.

As the agitation spread over the days, it attracted external attention and scrutiny to some extent.

Even before that, Vice Principal Isaac had called, but he seemed more confident in Huai Shi than Huai Shi himself, reminding him only of the ample human resources at the school’s campus that could be mobilized freely when needed, he didn’t bother with anything more.

And late at night, Huai Shi received an unexpected call.

Tengu Mountain.

”I hear you’ve been quite disheveled and embarrassed lately.”

The laughter of the Great Tengu came from the other end, ”Even those of us in the Mountain of Hell have heard a thing or two.”

”Is it spreading widely?” Huai Shi was slightly shocked, ”Then this is slightly embarrassing.”

”It’s just a minor ailment, noble men can be deceived with schemes... With someone like you, Huai Shi, it seems that this is the only method. No need to feel ashamed, rather than saying it’s embarrassing, it proves your virtues.”

After saying that, the Great Tengu laughed bizarrely, ”Anyway, if you need help, just say the word.”

”No need to worry, it’s just a small matter.” Huai Shi shook his head, ”Because it’s laughable to trouble others over such things, besides, I don’t want to give Great Tengu an opportunity to owe any favors.”

”Since that’s the case, then we won’t say more, but after all, it’s the Current Circumstances, don’t act recklessly.”

Great Tengu rubbed his chin, thinking about this junior’s ruthless tactics, he couldn’t help but tisk-tisk twice, perhaps those at Deer’s Sing Hall were also looking forward to such a situation to arise?

What’s more delightful for schemers than a Hero rampaging, harming civilians?

However, judging by his tone, Huai Shi hasn’t lost his composure, not just that.

He was somewhat relieved.

”I hear tomorrow you’re attending the various meetings in Yingzhou?”

”Of course. Isn’t someone eager to see me in a sorry state? Don’t want them to leave disappointed.”

”Haha, it seems there’s a good show to watch.”

The Great Tengu nodded knowingly and didn’t say more, only leaving a last reminder, ”Be careful of the backyard catching fire.”

”What’s there to be careful about something that won’t happen?”

Huai Shi calmly replied, ”My backyard has no place for any flammable waste.”

After hanging up the phone, he looked up at the clock on the wall.

The midnight bell tolled.

Judging by the time, it’s about time to clean up the trash.

.

.

”Not coming again? What do you mean?”

In the noisy old house in the old city district, William’s followers again received bad news. The person on the phone angrily questioned, ”Are you going to betray everyone? Hey, speak up!”

”My wife is going into labor, I have no choice, next time, next time for sure...”

On the other end of the line came a woman’s shrill scolding, soon, the call was disconnected. ℯℯ𝑙.

”It’s too much, obviously this is also for everyone, and yet you flee at the final moment?” The organizer complained angrily, sparking a wave of indignation.

”Don’t be too harsh, he might have been coerced.”

William sighed lightly and spoke earnestly, ”All of us came together to fight for the rights we’ve earned. The closer we get to this moment, the more united we must be, how can we blame those fellow countrymen who are also being trampled on? ”

Everyone must remember, only when we truly grasp the right to speak, can our fellow countrymen stand freely under the sun!”

”Mr. William is right!”

”Tomorrow we’ll show the Tanbo Group!”

”Those hypocritical bastards’ good days are over!”

For a moment, under William’s encouragement, the originally slightly gloomy morale was rekindled, filled with hope.

Only the old man turned his head, in the shadow where light could not reach, a trace of gloom appeared on his face.

Suppressing his anger.

This wasn’t the first participant to withdraw midway. A few days ago, many people had already disappeared, and some that were familiar began to make excuses to evade.

They were so enthusiastic when there was profit to be made. But once it came to the real action, they started backing out.

At the root of it, it’s because these bastards have had it too good.

Unlike the furious atmosphere he felt elsewhere, the anger was gone, having been worn down by the apparently peaceful life here.

They were completely a group of people who cannot be nurtured...

Luckily, under great rewards, there would be brave men, and more participants stayed. Whether they believed his rhetoric about freedom and hope or wanted to gamble for profit... these scraps that even other hybrids looked down upon were at least somewhat useful.

People are prone to follow the crowd, always ignorant. Once the flame is lit, it will grow larger like a snowball.

When the water is muddied, which fish can remain untouched?

As for success or not...

Is it still important?

Rather, expecting these self-indulgent, drug-addicted, reckless for even a bit of money, or downright foolish people to succeed would be a joke.

They’re all just cannon fodder, whether alive or dead, it doesn’t matter.

But precisely their existence and the chaos they create are enough to shake the legitimacy of Tanbo’s existence, to strip away that halo surrounding Huai Shi, and to restore the so-called King of Tanbo to his original form!

Does a chaotic Tanbo really need to exist?

At that time, it would be the world of the Wanderers’ Freedom Alliance...

After repeatedly checking the lists, the faint unease in his heart began to stabilize.

These days, such an uneasy premonition constantly haunted his heart, despite everything going smoothly, just some trivial setbacks, things seemed gradually different.

The circumstances seem to begin changing.

Even though he was already very skilled at this game on various borders, this time there was still heart palpitations. It seemed calm, but as if an invisible iron wall was rising, unseen, untouchable, but gradually closing in.

Bringing a suffocating feeling akin to an illusion.

It was as if, in response to their constant jumping around, those high and mighty arrogant eyes finally lowered, taking a glance at him.

Causing William’s heart to tighten.

After sending off those participants, William returned to the secret room, summoning his confidants once more.

”Have all the people been found?”

”Relax, Mr. William, we’re professionals in this business!” The man smoking assured, patting his chest: ”Tomorrow we’ll respond to you, when the signal is sent, personnel from all places will spring into action. Let’s make this city lively.”

”Good, I won’t say much, remember your reward after the success.” William nodded with satisfaction, then ordered his subordinates to push out dozens of heavy crates from the warehouse.

”Tomorrow, have your people bring these...”

When the crates were opened, the golden and yellow bullets illuminated everyone’s eyes, the gun numbers erased, and even bombs exuded an enticing scent of machine oil.

”This is a big deal...”

The smoking man grinned, stroking the silent steel, already eager.

.

The next day, as the sun rose, the entire city seemed shrouded in haze.

Under the blaring loudspeakers and speakers, the people walking the streets gathered together, forming a winding dragon under William’s call.

The furious roars and greedy shouts overlapped.

Within the crowd, William was hoisted up, bathed in sunlight, grasping the microphone, shouting to the crowd in front and behind him: ”Today, we unite together to fight for our own rights! To reclaim our freedom! Compatriots, open your eyes! Look at all this torment! Look at the tears of the children and the old mothers!”

”Oppose forced labor!”

The agitators among the crowd chanted passionately: ”Freedom! We want freedom!!!”

”Down with Tanbo! Down with the Huaizhi Group!”

Within the parade queue, the atmosphere of madness began to surge, the sound of breaking echoed, and masked people cast bottles from their hands towards the street on both sides where the doors were tightly shut.

Sparks began to ignite.

Smoke rose.

The peaceful city welcomed commotion and clamor. Masked men had already excitedly smashed windows, rushed into shops, beginning to grab the items inside.

Even more people couldn’t resist the temptation, joining in.

William laughed, his smile illuminated by the firelight, no longer concealing the greed and ferocity within it.

”Good! Just like that! Friends, let those cruel superiors witness our resolve!” he shouted, leading the parade towards the towering buildings in the distance.

The surging crowd moved forward like a tidal wave, unstoppable.

Going forward.

Then, abruptly halted.

Like the sweeping flood hitting a dam and high wall, unable to spread any further.

The restless crowd stopped, causing William to look up in amazement. But standing in the way ahead was not an army and heavily armed troops and legion.

On the wide road, it was empty.

Only a chair was placed in the center of the crossroads.

The man leaned on the chair, supporting his chin, scrutinizing the rebels before him. Faced with the escalating violence, his expression remained undisturbed, as calm as ever.

Like looking down at dust.

Clearly just one person, with a cold gaze.

Causing the torrent of chaos to not dare to advance, seemingly freezing everything.

At that moment, William lost his voice:

”Huai Shi...”
