Chapter 1204: Chapter 915: Something’s Wrong! (Thanks to Queen Bai Ze and the White Silver League)

”Dung beetle?”

Huai Shi exclaimed in shock.

In his hand, the beetle head, which looked like it was made of metal, lit up like a display light, vibrating its wings covered in circuit matrix, revealing the sacred symbol of the Egypt Cross.

”What do you know!”

Beelzebub roared with a voice filled with electric currents: ”This is called a scarab!!!”

”Isn’t it still a dung beetle!”

Huai Shi argued loudly.

”...”

Though it was unbelievable, but as the core of Osiris, being activated to become the sacred insect of Egypt, symbolizing the sun’s scarab, was quite reasonable.

Though... it was a bit humorous.

With Beelzebub being activated first, Huai Shi confidently pulled out Seishui Broken Spear from his backpack—since Beelzebub could be activated, then surely Seishui could too, right?

The Fly King, once activated, becomes a scarab.

What about Seishui?

Recalling the ocean of hatred engulfing the sky in his memory, and the Kunpeng silhouette spreading its wings above the clouds, Huai Shi couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement.

”—Come out, dear predecessor!”

Huai Shi raised Seishui high, crying out with anticipation.

The casting begins!

In an instant, thick water vapor surged, spreading and engulfing Huai Shi’s figure.

Seishui activated!

When the mist dissipated, Huai Shi’s smile gradually stiffened, looking down bewilderedly at the ... limp ... ribbon fish in his hand?

No, upon closer inspection, it didn’t seem like a ribbon fish.

But what kind of fish it looked like couldn’t be described, the only certainty was, this thing was just a fish.

And it had a pair of tiny wings.

Sensing Huai Shi’s gaze, the slender fish flapped its wings flatly, with a complete indifference in its wooden fish eyes.

A wave of sea stench surged.

Some fish, though alive, had already started to become salty!

”What the heck is going on?”

Huai Shi shook the ’salty fish’ in his hand, incredulous, why did others’ swords and blades transform into dogs and cats, but his turned into dung beetles or salty fish.

Without Ying Fangzhou’s residual soul blessing, Seishui Broken Spear had degenerated to this level!

”Don’t you have any other functions?” Huai Shi asked incredulously.

As if it understood what he was saying, the ’salty fish’ flapped its wings twice, twisting its body, raising its head, and its mouth opened and closed toward Huai Shi, seemingly wanting to say something.

As Huai Shi leaned closer, with a biu~ sound, it splashed a spray of water.

It sprayed Huai Shi’s face!

Huai Shi disdainfully wiped his face, sniffing it... even the water was excessive in salt!

Afraid that if you dry it out, you’d have two ounces of salt!

This utterly carefree, indifferent appearance, having already laid flat before the wheel of fate, abandoning resistance—how come it looked so familiar?

He couldn’t refrain from scratching his head, then started to genuinely doubt—was there something wrong with his ability?

.

The related tests and data collection continued until noon the next day.

Finally arriving at a simple, straightforward preliminary result.

—Huai Shi is not human.

How exactly he was not human and where he was not human, and whether there would be residual risks after being non-human, couldn’t be seen for now, such a massive amount of data needs to be analyzed by the Utopia Host.

After confirming the complete preservation of original data, adding a three-layer password lock and Huai Shi’s personal verification, the person in charge departed with a box, protected by Raymond, heading towards the computation center at the headquarters.

That appearance seemed like transporting some incredible treasure.

Making the onlooking Huai Shi feel awkward.

Isn’t this a bit over-the-top?

Isn’t this a bit too serious?

He had no awareness of being the King of Tanbo.

The continuous tests and experiments made him experience a long-lost fatigue, after resting a bit, he refused the students’ offer for a ride, leaving the power station alone.

He mainly wanted to escape the crime scene.

Seeing the row of hydropower wheel units he had damaged made his wallet twitch, mainly because he hadn’t finished paying off his loans and had to take out another one.

Just working for these damned bankers.

Heartache.

In the afternoon sunlight, he ambled lazily along the roadside, hearing the distant sound of sea waves.

He could see people jogging with headbands panting as they passed by, drivers with camping gear strapped to their roofs driving up the mountain with their families, and a fleet loaded with construction materials speeding towards the city like a long dragon.

For a moment he felt a sense of bewilderment, not knowing where to go.

Since coming back, Tong Ji had been tinkering with something in the basement’s alchemy workshop and hadn’t shown up for a long time. With the New Year approaching, Uncle Fang planned for a big clean-up, and Huai Shi would only add to the chaos if he went back. The Tanbo Group had a mess of issues, and if he went there, he’d be shoved into an office to look at files.

As for Huaizhi Gang... Given Huai Shi’s current reputation, if he really showed up and exchanged a few polite words, those guys from the Extreme Path would be so fired up, they’d take off their shirts, grab machetes, and charge out to dominate Yingzhou...

For Yingzhou’s public order, better not.

Considering all this, he suddenly realized he seemed to have nowhere to go today.

Instantly felt a bit helpless.

”Where do you think we should take a stroll?” Huai Shi asked Beelzebub after opening his bag.

Beelzebub was still in a heartbroken phase and didn’t want to deal with him.

Even the sidekick was fed up with him.

How could he perform on stage?

”I just laughed at you turning into a dung beetle... cough cough, I mean, that scarab. Why are you holding such a grudge?” Huai Shi comforted. ”Why don’t we go practice being an Abyss Stylist, do a makeover? Maybe it’ll be better... turn into a dog, no, a jackal, right?”

”That’s Anubis!”

Beelzebub roared, utterly ignoring him.

To avoid completely losing this friend, Huai Shi decided to stay quiet and let him be.

”Ah! Boss...”

A familiar voice came from not far away, exclaiming in surprise.

When Huai Shi turned to look, he saw two pink-dyed Teddies struggling with their leashes, and an older uncle wearing sunglasses with curly hair styled like a Teddy.

Huai Shi was stunned for a moment, unable to respond: ”Uh... Who is that?”

”It’s me, Boss, it’s me... Takuma!”

The stylishly or overly eccentric old uncle took off his sunglasses, brushed his hair, and showed a familiar face—it was the former accountant of Huaizhi Gang: ”Don’t you recognize me?”

”...It’s not about recognizing, it’s about whether I can recognize you.” Huai Shi was incredulous: ”Why dress up to look like this? If Yamashita saw this, he’d laugh his teeth off! What’s with these dogs? Why are they so ugly?”

”Well... I’m retired, wanted to be a bit trendy.” Takuma laughed awkwardly: ”Every day at home with nothing to do, taking care of my daughter’s pets.”

”Retired?” Huai Shi was puzzled, instinctively frowned.

Why didn’t he know?

”Oh no, it has nothing to do with that. Boss, your arrangements were great, I just wasn’t quite used to it. Thought about it and decided to retire, so I took the family on a worldwide trip and just got back.” Takuma remarked: ”With my skills, accounting for the Extreme Path is already quite something. Times are changing so fast, and I’m getting old. I don’t even know how to use the new financial software... Suddenly working in such a big group, I couldn’t adapt. Besides, I’ve earned enough money, Boss, you even gave us shares. It’s enough for the rest of my life even if I spend recklessly.”

Upon saying this, he felt somewhat ashamed himself.

Such a good opportunity given to him, yet he couldn’t succeed. He really didn’t know how to face Huai Shi.

Once confirmed there were no tricks involved, Huai Shi didn’t have any particular thoughts about it.

”Retire if you want, can’t force it. Besides, you are getting old... ready to have grandchildren?”

While strolling with Takuma, Huai Shi asked curiously.

”Oh, it’s the second one already, Boss.” Takuma laughed: ”This month is the due date, the family is busy, but I’m just an idle guy, considered useless, so I ran out on my own...”

”Haha, seems like it’s not just me who’s unpopular.” Huai Shi laughed, reached out to take a leash from Takuma, lifted the pink Teddy to take a closer look.

Got to say, this little thing seems quite interesting.

”Boss, are you headed somewhere? Negotiations?” Takuma asked curiously, ”Though I may be old, I can still put on a show!”

”You? Forget it... just don’t make the opponent laugh.” Huai Shi glanced at this guy dressed like an Osaka granny, shaking his head: ”I’m actually bored, looking to find something to do, but apparently no one’s coming for negotiations... By the way, this place has really changed, I almost got lost—was the ramen shop we used to frequent down this road?”

”No, you need to turn left ahead.” Takuma patted his chest, showing an old youthful zeal: ”Since you don’t have anything to do, how about I play guide and show you around?”

”Sure, but you need to go back and change first, and put down the dogs.” Huai Shi thought for a moment, saying seriously: ”Otherwise, it’s too awkward.”

Takuma smiled wryly and nodded.

After going home with Takuma to take a short rest, the old man changed into sportswear and was all excited, carrying a backpack, ready to lead Huai Shi on a tour of the new Tanbo.

”Where to?”

Takuma said excitedly: ”Let’s first go to the Pachinko shop I frequent and try our luck?”

”...” Huai Shi rolled his eyes, wanting to hit someone, ”Did I give you money to gamble?”

Just realized that the Boss wasn’t into this stuff, Takuma laughed awkwardly: ”No gambling, no gambling, the pinball shop is our own, I go there without spending money...”

”You’ve got enough already!”

Huai Shi was angry: ”Can’t you learn from other old men and try fishing? Got so old, and can’t you do something productive?”

”Haha, Boss is right.” Takuma had no shame, bowing while agreeing. This drew curious looks from people nearby, who instinctively moved away a bit.

”Hey, straighten up, don’t make others think I’m extorting you...” Huai Shi sighed, seeing a construction site not far away, pausing slightly:

”Subway?”

This city’s really changed a lot.
