Chapter 501: Chapter 432: From Start to Finish_4

The book snapped shut.

”All right, I’ve got it!”

Huai Shi nodded confidently, took out paper and pen from his saddlebag, and wrote an arrest warrant on the spot, stamping it with the Xinhai Inspector’s seal. He proudly displayed the still-warm Black Envelope to Morando.

”Morando • M • Lande, you are suspected of endangering Current Circumstances, organizing illegal churches, murder, border smuggling, and other crimes. By the authority granted by the Astronomical Association New Sea Branch, you are hereby arrested today by my hand.”

Morando was stunned for a moment, then immediately overjoyed, nodding frantically. ”I am willing to cooperate! I am willing to confess, as long as my life is spared...”

”Very good.”

Huai Shi cut him off. Following the emergency procedures in the code, he declared, ”Next, you will be transferred to the Border Court for trial. As the sole member of the Astronomical Society here, I will temporarily assume the roles of court president, judge, associate judge, and your prosecutor...”

He bent down, lowered his head, and examined Morando’s dull face with a smile. ”So, defendant Morando, you are found guilty due to conclusive evidence. Does the defendant’s lawyer have any questions?”

”No questions whatsoever! My client gets what he deserves!” Beelzebub cheerfully shouted in response. ”He will certainly respect the verdict given by the jury.”

”Very good.”

Huai Shi pulled out a miniaturized The Hammer of Sorrow and struck it against the broken carriage nearby. ”According to the temporary Border Court’s judgment, Morando, you have been sentenced to death, to be executed immediately—right now, right here!”

The second seal was stamped.

Morando’s pupils dilated. He opened his mouth to shout, but Huai Shi raised his hand and shoved a mouthful of molten metal into it, sealing it shut as it quickly set.

Only muffled, roaring moans remained.

He struggled mightily.

But it was too late. The Hell Virus inside his body was spreading rapidly, robbing him of his last vestiges of strength.

In the glow of the fire, he looked up blankly. He saw the heavy steel behind the youth rapidly change shape under the control of that one hand, twisting and forming into a platform. Immediately after, a grim frame rose swiftly.

Suspended by The Sorrow of Index, the heavy Axe Blade hung high, flashing with a cold, furious light.

”Lastly, as a representative of the Astronomical Society, I carry out this judgment against you. This will be your method of execution...”

In front of the Guillotine, Huai Shi spread his arms wide, joyfully proclaiming to Morando,

”—Beheading!”

”MMMPH!! MMPH... MMMMPH!!!”

Dragged by Huai Shi, Morando tore his lips free from the hardened impediment, screaming and struggling mightily. He roared and cursed, but could not withstand the grasp of the hand firmly pulling him.

Inch by inch, he was dragged to the Guillotine. Heavy shackles fell, securing his hands and neck, extinguishing his last hopes.

”You won’t meet a good end, you bastard! Dog of the Astronomical Society!” Morando raged, his mouth pulled wide in a desperate snarl. ”You will end up in a state a million times more miserable than mine, unable to live or die in the Abyss! You will! You definitely will!”

”Well, isn’t this the fair trial you yearned for, Morando? Isn’t this a judgment made in compliance with the law, regulations, and even your own will?”

Huai Shi tilted his head, crouched down, and peered into his eyes.

As he spoke, it seemed as though endless Phantoms materialized behind him. They looked down indifferently upon the criminal on the Guillotine, observing this righteous judgment, watching the arrival of retribution.

”I am your arresting officer, I am your Judge, I am your executioner... Morando, you can harbor resentment, but the outcome will not change.”

Huai Shi raised his finger and, right before Morando’s eyes, snapped it.

”—Please remember, my name is Huai Shi.”

In that instant, the heavy Axe Blade hanging above the Guillotine whistled as it fell.

A faint CLACK sounded.

Justice, executed!

「The footage ended there.」

In the Decision Room, after witnessing Huai Shi’s one-stop trial service, everyone’s expression became remarkably complex, unsure how to judge.

”Ahem, although the process was a bit informal, urgency calls for such measures.” The person in charge of Suspended Floor L4 squinted, a faint smile on his lips. ”I think, at least procedurally, there’s no problem. But all these issues can be resolved through training, right?”

”The judgment was somewhat lacking in consideration, but for a young man, he’s already done quite well.” A representative from the Border Court took a sip of tea and said calmly, ”I think everything’s fine; he’s just lacking a bit of experience. Which is perfect, as the Border Court is in need of newcomers...”

”No, his arrest process was also a bit informal.” Someone nearby raised their voice. ”He must come to us for training. These bad habits must be corrected before their toxic influence spreads.”

”I, on the other hand, think he needs to learn some more advanced execution methods. Hmm, we could have an internal exchange; just two months should do.”

”Absolutely not! The format of his arrest notice... the format...”

The person from the Secretariat instinctively opened their mouth to recruit him, thought for a long moment, but then found that this little bastard’s formatting was actually faultless, leaving no excuse to pull him in.

”Enough, stop arguing.”

The middle-aged man at the head of the table raised a finger, tapped the table, and stated, ”Ultimately, he is a commendable talent. I believe everyone has witnessed his performance and conduct.”
