Chapter 280: Chapter 245 Huai Shi You Bastard!_1

Shit!

Xi Jiang was furious, as a barrage of Chinese and Japanese curses flowed incessantly.

This bastard is attracting all the firepower through his allies! Guo Nu, you’re something, alright. Once I get back, I’ll write down every dirty thing you’re involved in and send that letter to Rome!

Let’s see if the enforcers will spare you then!

As he sprinted, Huai Shi flung Apocalypse Gray Smoke Grenades as if they were free, and thick smoke began to rise in all directions. The critical material was his blood.

As long as he was in Ueno Park, he had nearly infinite vitality to squander, so he naturally wouldn’t skimp on a few hundred cubic centimeters of blood. In an instant, the whole park was shrouded in noxious fumes.

Leaving Yuan Zhao to deal with those Sublimators up front, Huai Shi hid in a corner and actually crouched down.

”Son of a bitch, what are you doing!” Yuan Zhao roared. ”You’re slacking off at a time like this, are you even human!”

”Hang on, I’m charging up a big move!”

Huai Shi shouted, immediately laying low as a hail of gunfire whistled past, not daring to so much as make a sound from within the smoke.

In the chaos of the fight, Yuan Zhao was in his element. The power granted by the Sky Horse Stigmata wasn’t a double jump but a terrifying talent that allowed passage over anything visible. In other words, regardless of whether there was a foothold, as long as he could see it, Yuan Zhao could stand upon it as if it were flat ground, and even briefly tread on air.

His mobility was terrifyingly strong, and it was three-dimensional! If it weren’t for the tightly guarded iron stake not far away constantly illuminating him, like a tether, he would’ve already run off!

And when he ascended to the Second Stage, the Yuan Family had provided precious materials to make the Sky Horse Stigmata undergo a Metamorphosis, directly resonating with the legendary divine horse, Dilu.

Once he activated the Stigma, apart from an ability like a dragon entering water, almost akin to Water Evasion, his resistance was incredibly high; he was immune to all slowing debuffs!

Even so, he couldn’t afford to slow down even a bit under the assault. The pressure wasn’t just from Xi Jiang’s group; there were also seven or eight Sublimators lurking invisibly in the air, waiting for an opportunity to strike. With their Dark Gold Level Items, they were not afraid of any probing Border Relics or talents, invisible to all, only revealing a vague outline when they fired.

Besides, these were all damn Sublimators! Anyone who survived in the mercenary business at the Border was no pushover; everyone had a few tricks up their sleeve.

”Damn it, White-named face!” Mid-air, Yuan Zhao executed a double jump with a somersault, intercepting a fire dragon that lunged at him, and roared, ”If you keep hiding, I’m really going to die!”

In the sky, a Roaring Outburst occurred as crimson arrows screamed like missiles and exploded from a sweeping spear tip, sending Yuan Zhao flying backward.

”I’m ready!!!”

A figure suddenly leaped out from the dense smoke, shouldering something the size of a thermos flask, soared into the air, turned mid-air, and violently threw the heavy flask towards the iron stake.

While invisible, a Sublimator reflexively raised a sniper rifle, about to pull the trigger, only to hear Guo Nu’s panicked command:

”Don’t shoot!”

It was too late.

Huai Shi spun in mid-air, his shotgun now snapped shut, aimed at the falling iron flask, and he pulled the trigger.

With a loud BANG, Huai Shi’s arm shook, and countless crimson pellets burst from the barrel, instantly tearing the fragile tin body of the flask to shreds. The liquid inside, glinting with a metallic luster, swirled and spread through the air, raining down toward the ground.

It ignited instantly, heated by the intense force of the steel pellets.

A crimson eruption.

Amidst the deep roaring, a heavy blast wave rapidly expanded, and a burning rain of fire roared, millions of sticky flames falling from the sky, enshrouding the Sublimators guarding the iron stake.

This was an alchemical product Huai Shi had forged using most of his Source Substance: a liquid metal Incendiary Bomb.

—The Wrath of Ramses!

The Pharaoh’s fury, like a rain of fire, instantly showered each stunned face with temperatures over a thousand degrees, burrowing into flesh and bone like bone-adhering maggots, burning through everything, bringing screams and agony.

Screams erupted suddenly.

Huai Shi, disregarding the assault of those figures emerging from the void, landed, stepped forward, and charged with Yu Step, directly confronting the foremost figure and pushing forward!

BOOM!

In the violent collision, the obstructor’s knife was gripped tightly by Huai Shi’s five fingers, splitting the hastily condensed layer of iron, blood splattering. The man, however, involuntarily took a step back.

Then the man saw Huai Shi suddenly leap up and stomp on his upturned face. The power of Yu Step erupted again, crushing his face with unparalleled speed, accompanied by the pain of tearing muscles.

The crisp CRACK of a breaking neck rang out.

Huai Shi had already flown towards the area covered by the rain of fire. Stepping on a burning husk, he aimed his shotgun at the burning head as he descended and pulled the trigger.

Blood burst forth.

After the loud BANG, Huai Shi had already stepped on the mangled corpse to land, moving forward. He ignored the Sublimators who, despite their pain, were closing in to besiege him, and brought his Axe Blade down on the iron stake.

The Roaring Outburst of Space Break sounded again from the sky. Silver arrows fell from the sky, swift as ghosts. Despite Huai Shi’s hasty dodge, one pierced his collarbone, tearing open a dreadful hole.

The Axe Blade powerlessly left only a shallow gash on the iron stake.

Next, the Sublimator in charge of the stake-shaped Border Relic, disregarding his own injuries, pressed his burning hands onto the iron stake. The light once again connected to both Huai Shi and Yuan Zhao.

Gravity intensified!

The steps of both individuals faltered.

The sound of a sword slicing through the air came from behind, and the Nothingness Poison Sword, carrying deadly venom, slashed towards Huai Shi’s back.

Expressionless, Huai Shi threw the iron-gall-sized silver sphere in his hand toward the Sublimator behind the iron stake, allowing the poisonous sword to pierce through his body.

Where the Sword Blade passed, flesh tore, and a very fine slash materialized. Although the Sword Blade was one of nothingness, it still brought intense pain and damage to his organs and Stigma... He suddenly stepped to the left, contracting his body, and hid behind a nearby Sublimator.

Immediately after, a Roaring Outburst occurred; the Alchemy Bomb Huai Shi had thrown exploded with a BOOM.

At extremely close range, countless metal shards whistled and flew, instantly turning the Sublimator in charge of the Border Relic into a corpse riddled with holes. Huai Shi, who had used the human shield to survive the blast, still felt his vision go dark; a grenade’s power at close range was no gentle breeze.

In that moment of disorientation, he instinctively turned mid-step, swinging the Axe Blade in his hand, and slashed towards the Sublimator who had just ambushed him.

Hit by bomb shrapnel, the Sublimator wielding the Nothingness Poison Sword couldn’t help but scream. He instinctively covered his face, then immediately felt a chill in his lower body. He had been bisected at the waist.

Frantically drawing power from the life-force network in Ueno Park, Huai Shi wiped a dose of Silver Blood Potion on his back, forcibly maintaining his combat readiness, unconcerned that his internal organs were already starting to feel numb and stiff.

He looked up, gazing at the Sublimator on the distant high-rise who was nocking an arrow. Huai Shi suddenly raised his hand and stepped forward. The Brilliant Light materialized from his raised palm, and the Spear of Compassion, entwined with Lock Chains, followed his roar. As he stepped forward again and flung his hand, the spear shot through the air using Space Break, heading towards the high-rise hundreds of meters away.

Atop the high-rise, the bow-wielding Sublimator first froze, instinctively trying to dodge, then couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.

Missed.

Totally off target.

Even if I did nothing, that menacing thrown spear would only land dozens of meters away.

Immediately after, he rapidly drew his bow, pulling out a pale, skeletal arrow, preparing to seize the opportunity to severely wound Huai Shi. But then he saw a Lock Chain suddenly fly out from the Long Spear soaring through the air and abruptly fasten around his own neck...

What the heck?

The Source Impact spread, and his mind paused for an instant. Then, as the Lock Chain tightened, the spear, which had been off-course, corrected its trajectory and, with a sound like it was tearing through space, stabbed into his forehead.

THWACK!

He fell backward, a Golden Coin clattering to the ground.

Meanwhile, Huai Shi had already flung his Axe Blade and Long Knife towards the silhouettes emerging around him, blocking a crossbow arrow from behind with the Sword of Virtue and finding a brief gap amidst the encirclement.

He raised his fist towards the iron stake in front of him and clenched it.

He gathered strength, then infused Source Substance. The flames of the Mountain Ghost compressed between his fingers. As his grip suddenly tightened, a roaring thunder burst forth.

This was a strike delivered with full concentration.

Drummer!

BOOM!

Amidst the deafening sound, Huai Shi’s finger bones broke inch by inch, and his left forearm fractured cleanly. On the iron stake, cracks from the intense shock grew like living things, spreading across its entire body until, finally, it shattered with a thunderous collapse.

The light that bound them vanished.

Yuan Zhao, in his Sky Horse state, felt immediate relief. Ignoring Xi Jiang’s attempts to entangle him, Yuan Zhao took a spear hit head-on, dashed over, and grabbed Huai Shi by the back of his collar. The thunderous sound of iron hooves echoed as they charged into the depths of the dense forest.

”They’re trying to escape!”

Guo Nu’s eyes widened. He wanted to pursue but heard a cold laugh beside him.

”Run?” Lin Yu fiddled with the small doll in her hand. ”They can’t escape.”

SNAP!

With that crisp sound, the doll’s leg suddenly broke. While galloping, Yuan Zhao stumbled; a deep, bone-visible wound had appeared on his leg.

Cracks spread across his bones. He tumbled and fell to the ground.

Huai Shi got up, glanced at Yuan Zhao on the ground, then turned back to look at Xi Jiang’s group pursuing them. A dozen well-trained Sublimators.

Even a moment’s thought made it clear it was impossible to match their strength.

He sighed, looked down at Yuan Zhao, and apologized, ”Thanks for saving me just now, but... I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have gotten involved in this.”

He propped himself up using a tree trunk. Within a few breaths, he forcibly extracted life force, healing his wounds, though the fracture in his arm remained. Still, it was enough to make an escape.

Yuan Zhao rolled his eyes at him. He wanted to curse but said nothing, his heart growing cold.

Damn it, I’ll just consider this repaying the favor to that White-named face. Serves me right for being so blind, this young master...

In his irritation, he closed his eyes to await death, but then felt a Lock Chain suddenly fasten around his waist. It tightened, pulling him up.

With a raspy NEIGH, he landed on horseback.

”I might not be upright, but this Little Brag is so over-the-top, he should meet the conditions, right?”

Huai Shi smiled at the White Horse summoned by the Sword of Virtue. The White Horse rolled its eyes at him, seemingly indifferent, but didn’t throw Yuan Zhao off its back.

”Go!”

Huai Shi unceremoniously slapped the horse’s rump. ”Take this Little Brag anywhere. The farther, the better.”

The White Horse let out a long whinny, not even deigning to look back at him. Amidst Yuan Zhao’s furious denunciations, it galloped away.

Huai Shi turned around. Facing Lin Yu’s malicious gaze from afar, he grinned and beckoned her with a hooked finger. His lips parted, calling out to her in a teasing, affectionate tone, ”Auntie, come and play~”

Lin Yu’s furious roar echoed.

He smiled, retreating step by step into the darkness of the dense forest.
