Alchemy Master

Chapter 1128, Do You Dare Duel Me in Alchemy?

Translator: Silavin

“Junior, do you know where this is?”

Yao Jie’s gaze remained fixed upon Qin Yichen, and a somewhat gloomy voice slowly rang out.

In truth, had it been an ordinary person who dared to treat him in such a manner, Yao Jie would have shown no courtesy whatsoever. However, when he had earlier helped to repel that Spiritual Energy Attack on his fellow person, he had sensed that the attack was extraordinarily powerful, not any weaker than his own.

Which was to say, this Junior standing before him, who appeared to know nothing at all, possessed considerable attainment in Spiritual Energy.

“The Medicine Market of Myriad Beasts City, of course. What of it?” Qin Yichen replied with a completely innocent expression, the sort of look that made one genuinely wonder whether he was deliberately trying to infuriate Yao Jie.

“You actually know this is the Medicine Market?” Yao Jie let out a cold snort, and a certain pressure radiated from his person, the kind that needed no anger to carry authority.

Within the Medicine Market, the word of the Medicine Race carried the weight of sovereign law.

And Qin Yichen had openly provoked a member of the Medicine Race here. This was nothing less than a direct challenge to the Medicine Race itself.

“I merely came here to sell some Pills. There is no need for you, noble one, to press me so aggressively, right?” Qin Yichen frowned slightly. This Yao Jie seemed to have no intention of letting the matter rest.

Moreover, from the fluctuations of Spiritual Energy emanating from this young man in front of him, Qin Yichen knew that he could not take him lightly. This young man must have reached the Heaven Grade that countless people dreamed of attaining.

Yao Jie appeared to be no more than twenty-four or twenty-five years of age. To have reached the Heaven Grade at such an age, placed within the territories of the Human Race, it would have been enough to cause a tremendous commotion and attract the eager recruitment of countless Top Tier Sacred Lands.

Were it not for the various fortuitous encounters and the experiences of his past life, Qin Yichen feared that the gulf between himself and this person would have been enormous.

“*Hmph.* Selling Pills?”

Yao Jie let out another cold snort. An unconcealed flash of contempt surfaced in his eyes, and a mocking voice rang out, “Who gave you permission to run your scam here without the approval of my Medicine Race?”

Upon hearing these words, Xiang Linzi’s complexion changed drastically.

This shop belonged to their Giant Elephant Race. As for the rules of the Medicine Market, he himself knew very little, only that it was a place governed by the Medicine Race. His own Race had paid no small price to secure this single shop. As for the requirement of the Medicine Race’s approval to sell Pills within it, he was genuinely unaware of them.

It was abundantly clear that Yao Jie intended to target Qin Yichen, but in doing so he had dragged the Giant Elephant Race into this murky affair.

Truth be told, the Giant Elephant Race had no shortage of adversaries. However, owing to mutual wariness, none had yet been driven to the point of mutual destruction.

If the Medicine Race were now to call them to account, those rival Forces would very likely band together to suppress the Giant Elephant Race.

At this moment, quite a number of onlookers wore expressions of undisguised amusement as they watched Qin Yichen and Xiang Linzi’s party.

Yao Jie was clearly looking for trouble. Indeed, to blatantly run a swindle on the Medicine Race’s own territory, if the Medicine Race remained indifferent, it would only harm their reputation.

“Junior, not just anyone has the right to sell medicines here. If you know what is good for you, I shall give you one chance…” Yao Jie let out a cold snort, a glint of amusement flashing through his eyes, “Kneel and kowtow to me three times, then get out of the Medicine Market.”

The moment these words left his mouth, a great wave of clamour immediately surged through the Medicine Market, which was packed with people as dense as a mountain of heads.

Before so many people, to kneel and bow in apology, for countless powerful cultivators, would be more unbearable than being killed outright.

And yet, the one who had spoken these words was Yao Jie.

The very person that even Top Tier Races sought to recruit.

To defy his wishes, the consequences would be something that ordinary people simply could not bear.

At Qin Yichen’s side, Li Shan, Xiang Linzi, and the others also felt their complexions change.

Having personally sampled the Pills, they were now fully aware of just how precious those Pills in Qin Yichen’s possession truly were. And so, even with a member of the Medicine Race stepping forward, they still stood behind Qin Yichen.

However, now that Yao Jie was pressing them so hard, they were deeply worried that Qin Yichen would be unable to withstand the pressure.

Moreover, even if they had the heart to protect Qin Yichen, they did not dare openly provoke the Medicine Race.

The consequences of doing so were not something a few First Tier Races could afford to bear.

“And if I refuse?” Under the scrutiny of countless gazes, Qin Yichen showed not the slightest inclination to apologise. Instead, he let out a light laugh and spoke with an air of complete indifference.

“If you wish to resist, go right ahead and try.” Yao Jie let out a cold laugh, his words brimming with undisguised threat.

The instant his voice fell, Qin Yichen sensed that countless auras had already locked onto him. More than that, he also detected, somewhere within the crowd, a fluctuation so powerful it made his very heart tremble, a Saint!

Behind this Yao Jie, there was actually a Saint providing covert protection.

Though this was not particularly surprising. Such a young Heaven Grade Alchemist would receive considerable treatment even within the Saints Heavenly Manor, to say nothing of a Race like the Medicine Race, with its deep foundation. So long as he continued to grow, he would become an Alchemy powerhouse courted by every Race across the land.

If Qin Yichen were to forcefully resist Yao Jie right now, he would likely be set upon in an instant, without even the slightest chance to flee.

“Sir, you absolutely must not go against him!”

Behind Qin Yichen, Li Shan and the others also showed expressions of great anxiousness.

They knew how important those Pills were to them, but the Medicine Race was absolutely not to be offended.

“I wonder, what does one need to do in order to sell Pills here?” Qin Yichen gave a slight nod, then directed this question at Yao Jie.

Upon seeing Qin Yichen’s demeanour, many in the crowd inwardly laughed with contempt. They had originally thought this fellow would show some backbone and resist to the end. It turned out he was merely someone who spoke tough words alone.

“*Heh!* So you want to sell Pills here?”

Yao Jie smiled at Qin Yichen, then his expression abruptly turned frigid, “Someone like you? Not a chance. While I have not yet changed my mind, there is still time for you to kowtow and apologise now. You have ten breaths to consider. Otherwise, the consequences are your own to bear.”

Yao Jie’s somewhat impatient voice rang out slowly.

In truth, for something like this, he would not ordinarily have bothered to take notice. However, it was because Elder Song had mentioned the matter to him that he had no choice but to step forward.

Furthermore, Elder Song had specifically instructed him to take a hard line with such swindlers. Thus, even though Xiang Linzi had lent him the shop, the members of the Medicine Race continued to make things exceedingly difficult.

“So there is truly no room for discussion?” Upon hearing Yao Jie’s words, Qin Yichen finally understood. This Medicine Race member had deliberately come looking for trouble with him.

Moreover, even if he were to lower his posture, it would likely make no difference to the outcome.

“What does he think he’s doing?”

“Why not just yield sooner?”

“He can only blame himself for being blind, running his swindle right onto the Medicine Race’s territory. One can hardly blame others for this.”

Seeing Qin Yichen’s manner, many onlookers narrowed their eyes slightly, every gaze carrying a mocking gleam as they watched him.

However, at precisely this moment, Qin Yichen’s next words caused every person present to stiffen, the amusement on their faces freezing solid in an instant.

“Yao Jie, do you dare to duel me in Alchemy?”
