Chapter 668, The Arrogant Mo Clan

Translator: Silavin

Although the Gongshu Clan and Lu Clan’s inheritance was not as perfect as the Mo Clan’s, and their overall strength could not compare to the Mo Clan, fundamentally speaking, they all originated from the Lu Ban Sect and were Lu Ban’s Descendants!

The Mo Clan had ancestral teachings that those who were also Lu Ban’s Descendants should be treated with courtesy.

Although the current state of Lu Ban’s Descendants saw the Mo Clan vaguely holding themselves as the authority figures of the Lu Ban Sect, they would still not turn away those who had travelled from afar from the two Clans.

In just a moment, the old village chief appeared before the two again, now holding a wooden talisman in his hand.

Under the Elder’s guidance, the three came to the rear mountain of the village.

*Whoosh!*

Upon arriving here, the old village chief threw the wooden talisman up.

The wooden plaque shot upward, disappearing in mid-air about ten feet in front of him. As the wooden plaque vanished, that space rippled like a lake into which a stone had been thrown, with circles of ripples spreading outward.

Afterward, with the fluctuation of space, a gate made of light appeared in mid-air.

“Let’s go.” Qin Yichen smiled slightly at Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan, stepped forward, and walked through.

*Whoosh!*

After entering this light gate, Qin Yichen felt his vision blur as a burst of dazzling light flashed forth, forcing his eyes to close involuntarily.

When he opened his eyes again, the ordinary mountain that had been before him was completely gone. In its place was a vast and endless expanse of land!

The space above this land presented a twisted hue, with silver light occasionally flickering within it.

From the space above, Qin Yichen could sense a pressure from Spiritual Energy. This pressure was extremely subtle, almost undetectable, yet Qin Yichen still clearly perceived it.

[Truly worthy of being the Mo Clan. This level of Craftsmanship far exceeds the Gongshu Clan.] Qin Yichen’s expression became much more serious as he murmured inwardly.

Soon, behind Qin Yichen, the figures of Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan also materialised.

When they saw this seemingly boundless expanse of land before them, both could not help but draw in a sharp breath.

“Eh? Why is no one here to receive us?”

After a brief moment of shock, Lu Xiaoguan frowned and asked with confusion.

Qin Yichen chuckled, his gaze turning toward the distance. Faintly, at the limit of their vision, he could make out the outline of an extremely massive city, like an ancient Demonic Beast crouching on the plains!

“Let’s go.” Qin Yichen shook his head, his figure moving as he flew toward the distant city outline. Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan hastily followed.

Although the plain was extremely vast, it was not much of a challenge for the three of them. In just about ten minutes, that massive city outline appeared clearly in their field of vision.

At first sight of this enormous city, Qin Yichen was somewhat astonished. This city was not filled with the domineering aura he had imagined. The city walls were not built from massive stone blocks, but were constructed entirely from enormous wooden logs!

No one knew how many years this city had existed, yet those wooden logs showed not the slightest sign of decay. An extraordinarily ancient aura emanated from within the city, allowing one to catch a glimpse of that taste from antiquity.

As they drew closer, Qin Yichen was amazed to discover that above this city, figures riding wooden mounts occasionally swept past, making the entire city appear bustling and lively.

“So this is the Mo Clan?”

Looking at those wooden mounts comparable to Gongshu Zhiyi’s Xiao Huang, Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly as emotion stirred in his heart.

No wonder the Mo Clan vaguely considered themselves the best of the Lu Ban Sect. Just from the scene before his eyes, one could catch a glimpse of this reality.

The Mo Clan’s foundation was indeed much more formidable compared to the Gongshu Clan and Lu Clan.

Xiao Huang was still a gift from Gongshu Yushan to Gongshu Zhiyi, yet here, such mounts seemed as common as ordinary goods. Although their Craftsmanship was slightly inferior to Xiao Huang’s, they were everywhere to be seen.

At this moment, Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan appeared behind Qin Yichen. When they saw this scene before them, their expressions immediately became somewhat unusually grave.

These things would require considerable effort for even them to create, yet here they appeared as common as ordinary merchandise!

“They’re all spiritual items. The Mo Clan is truly extraordinary.” Qin Yichen said with a light laugh.

*Swoosh!*

Just then, a sound of wind-breaking rang out. A figure riding a wooden bird swept down from a giant tree in the massive city and landed before the three.

Only now did Qin Yichen see clearly that sitting on the wooden bird was a youth of about twenty-four or twenty-five years old.

“Are you those few from the Gongshu Clan and the… erm, Lu Clan?”

This youth’s gaze swept over the three once, his brow furrowing slightly as if somewhat impatient, and he called out.

Qin Yichen nodded, though he felt somewhat displeased. This young man must be the one assigned to receive them, yet he had not even shown his face until they had to come all the way to the city gates themselves.

At this time, Gongshu Zhiyi and Lu Xiaoguan also waved the tokens representing their two Clans.

“Right then, you two follow me.”

This youth glanced at those two tokens and said indifferently.

“Us two? What about him?”

Gongshu Zhiyi was immediately displeased. As the beloved Daughter of the Gongshu Clan, even while following beside Qin Yichen, the latter had always provided her with the finest food, drink, and entertainment. When had she ever been treated so casually?

“Nonsense! How could our Mo City be a place just anyone is qualified to enter?”

The youth who had been preparing to turn and leave heard Gongshu Zhiyi’s bell-like voice and could not help but look at her a few more times, a flash of amazement in his eyes. However, when he looked at Qin Yichen, his brow immediately furrowed as he scolded. “Brat! You have no token, so hurry up and get out. Otherwise, when the patrol discovers you later and takes you for some infiltrator, that’ll be troublesome to deal with!”

“Heh…” At this, Qin Yichen sneered inwardly.

[What a joke! Even the Gongshu Clan had never had examples of outsiders infiltrating, let alone the Mo Clan with their even deeper foundation! He is clearly just looking down on us!]

If it were any other time, Qin Yichen would likely adopt an attitude of avoiding unnecessary trouble and let it pass. However, this was a place he had specifically sought out, and he still had business with the Mo Clan. How could he be dissuaded by such mocking words?

Moreover, this youth before him appeared to be twenty-four or twenty-five years old, yet his Spiritual Energy was only at the Spiritual Flow Realm. He truly was not qualified to point fingers and bluff in front of him!
