Li Lei wanted to hold her hand to no avail.

Xia Moyan calmly looked at Li Lei. “So who is your brother?”

Li Lei didn’t know how to respond.

Even Shaohui did not dare to look at him directly. Uncle, why are you bullying dad? We just reunited as a family of three not long ago. What if you scare dad away?

He cautiously walked forward and held his mom’s and dad’s hands in an attempt to heal the cracks in the family. Unexpectedly, his small hand was grabbed before he could hold his dad’s hand. It was his uncle.

“Let’s go into the house,” Uncle spoke easily as he led Shaohui and his mother towards the house. He did not even bother to glance at Shaohui’s father whom he coldly ignored as he walked towards the mountains.

Li Lei was abandoned miserably.

Looking at the two adults and one child, he really wanted to run up to hold Xiao Ling’s hand, but he knew that his future brother-in-law was still angry at him and it was better not to provoke him. Well, at least his future brother-in-law was not holding his beloved woman’s hand…

As for his son?

Li Lei looked at his son jealously. He gritted his teeth. Young brat, how dare you to steal your mom’s hand in front of your dad? In the future, I will teach you a lesson…

With different states of mind, the group of people entered the mountains.

The scenery of the villa in the mountains was beautiful. The breeze was accompanied by the rustling of bamboo leaves. In the bamboo forest, there was a stream with a wooden bridge above it, which lead to the place for tea tasting.

Xia Moyan did not say a thing as he led them into the villa. However, he secretly looked around at the environment and realized that, although this villa was not very big, he felt that the area was very profound due to the solitary house and the surrounding forest. Since the location and construction of the house were done by masters, the feng shui was top notch. No wonder his sister met her sycamore wood here that year.

With this in mind, he was somewhat unhappy. Hmph, cheap score!

He held Shaohui’s hand, walked to the tea room and sat down.

Xia Ling sat beside him. Li Lei was the last, so he asked someone to serve tea.

The best Lao Shan white tea was served. It was clear and had a dark fragrance. Li Lei was a little distressed. If he knew that his future brother-in-law wanted to compete for Xiao Ling, he would not have asked for such good tea and would have changed it to some other random tea leaves. However, since it was already served, he could only pretend that nothing happened. He asked, “Brother, does it taste good?”

Xia Moyan slowly took a sip.

In all fairness, the Li Family’s tea leaves were not bad, and he was quite satisfied. However, as his future brother-in-law, how could he be bought over so easily? Xia Moyan said in a reserved and clear manner, “It’s just passable.”

Li Lei almost wanted to throw the tea set at him.

He smiled hypocritically at Xia Moyan. “Can I ask why you are here today?” He meant that he wanted him to quickly tell them what was going on and quickly leave so that he would not remain an eyesore.

Xia Moyan’s voice was clear as usual. “I’m here to visit Xiao Ling.”

With one sentence, Li Lei was at a loss of words.

Li Lei wanted to cry.

Beside him, Shaohui used his small hands to cover his eyes as he could not bear to see his father being bullied like that.

However, his mother looked as if she could not see the tension between the two men and drank her tea as if nothing happened. She even commended the tea. “This tea is not bad. It’s stronger than the tea you usually brew for me.”

The speaker had no intentions, but the listener read his own meaning into it.

Xia Moyan only felt that the blue veins on his forehead were protruding. One reason was that his stupid sister exposed him by praising the Lao Shan white tea, and another reason was that he was baffled. How could this young brat brew tea that was of lower quality for his sister on a daily basis? Sure enough, he was only trying to put on a show in front of his future brother-in-law!

If the Xia Family were to give a score out of hundred to grade this future son-in-law, based on this point alone, Li Lei would have all his marks deducted. Including the faux pas just now, in Xia Moyan’s eyes, Li Lei was already a failure.

He started to seriously consider if he should use this opportunity to completely destroy Li Lei.

Besides, there were thousands of sycamore woods in the world, and he was certain that he would be able to find someone else who was satisfactory.

Beside him, Shaohui saw his murderous look and was so scared that he almost cried.

“Actually, the tea that dad usually brews is also quite nice to drink.” After some thought, he still decided to help his idiotic father. “It’s my favorite milk tea.”

Only then did Xia Moyan’s expression ease.

Xia Ling, who was completely oblivious to what happened, asked as she sipped on her tea, “Brother, why exactly are you here today? When can I announce Shaohui’s identity to the world?”

After hearing his sister’s question, Xia Moyan finally talked about the crux of the matter. “I came over because of this. Now, Shaohui is still quite safe by your side. That’s because you’ve done some charity, so the situation is better than expected. You only have to complete the final step before you can be officially recognized as a family of three.”

The three of them looked at one another in delight.

“Brother, what is the final step?” Li Lei couldn’t help but ask first.

“I’m not your brother.” Xia Moyan said grudgingly and paused for a moment before continuing. “Everyone has to prepare a bowl and a small, sharp knife. Oh yes, prepare a few sheets of disinfectant gauze too.”

Li Lei quickly told his subordinates to bring those items over.

After a while, the items were given to him on a delicate tray.

Xia Moyan raised his pale hand, placed the bowl on the table, picked up the dagger and grabbed Xia Ling’s hand.

“What are you doing?” Li Lei asked alarmingly.

Xia Moyan looked at him faintly. “Drawing blood.”

Li Lei became even more nervous. “Why do you have to draw blood? Is there any other way?” His Xiao Ling was afraid of pain the most. If she were cut by a knife, how could she bear the suffering?

Xia Moyan looked at him like he was looking at an idiot.

However, Xia Ling comforted him. “I will be fine.” How could her biological brother hurt her? This must be a necessary ritual for the family to be recognized.

Xia Moyan was not happy. Females were really biased towards outsiders. How could this girl support an outsider so much?

He adjusted the angle of the knife and made a small incision on her palm. He cut her palm lightly and accurately. Instantly, blood flowed out and fell in the bowl on the table.

Li Lei looked at Xia Ling nervously. “Is it painful?”

Xia Ling shook her head. “I don’t feel anything.”

Xia Moyan snorted in his heart. He learned bloodletting from his father since he was three years old and his skills were almost perfect now. It would be impossible for him to hurt his sister.

Li Lei was slightly relieved. Heartbroken, he took her hand and bandaged it.

On the other hand, Xia Moyan took Shaohui’s hand and did the same thing. Shaohui was a little worried. “Uncle, don’t hurt me.”

Xia Moyan faintly said, “It won’t hurt.” Sure enough, he painlessly made a light incision on Shaohui’s palm.

Finally, it was Li Lei’s turn.
