Chapter 2425: Chapter 2426: Observer

At the moment Angel saw this person, a strange feeling suddenly arose.

The scene before his eyes seemed to fade, and the person in front gradually vanished into the void, as if turned into a painting, or a weathered photograph lost in space-time.

He was clearly standing there with a smile, yet seemed as if he was far, far away from Angel.

He looked like he was smiling, but upon closer inspection, his exact features were indistinguishable.

It’s as if the Real World was covered with a layer of false canvas.

Angel was certain that everything he felt wasn’t an Illusion Technique, but rather emanated from the person’s aura... He hadn’t unleashed any power, yet just by standing there, he exuded a power that twisted space, minds, and memories.

It even twisted others’ perception.

Angel felt his knowledge about the person constantly shifting from real to false; from a person witnessed to a dusty memory.

Faced with this person, even Angel couldn’t help but feel a chill down his spine, even though the other person carried no oppression, like an ordinary mortal.

But Angel knew very well, this person was definitely not a mortal.

The power on him, which twisted everything, had already surpassed the level Angel could comprehend.

Even in Lord Rhein or Lord Monty, he hadn’t felt this kind of terrifying power that made his heart tremble.

This power... is absolutely not normal!

Perhaps, perhaps, this is the true force of the supreme rule!

”You...” Facing such a terrifying and involuntary twisting force, Angel couldn’t help but swallow, then said in a dry voice: ”Forgive my rudeness. May I ask why you are looking for me?”

Angel kept talking to constantly alleviate his own pressure.

Yes, his own pressure.

The person in front didn’t release any substantial pressure; Angel’s current fear and astonishment all stemmed from his own inner feelings.

The more he feared this twisting force, the more it affected him.

It’s like... when you don’t perceive this world, you have no fear. But when you understand how terrifying and cruel the truth of this world is, you’ll find that even the air seems to carry malice.

That is to say, if it were an ordinary person at this moment, perhaps they wouldn’t feel any pressure at all.

But the more Angel knew, the greater his own pressure would be.

When he began to speak, he deliberately averted his gaze from the person to distract himself, and the pressure from his mind began to ease.

Although the inner pressure eased a bit, Angel didn’t dare to relax even slightly. This person in front of him was definitely one of the most formidable beings he had ever encountered.

He had originally shrunk the ”Domain Field” green Pattern into a sphere, but now, as he spoke, he silently expanded the Domain Field to cover his entire body.

Angel chose to use the Domain Field, firstly because it was already activated, and secondly because it stemmed from the green Pattern, which gave him a slightly comforting power.

But what he didn’t expect was that when the Domain Field casually covered his whole body, the pressure swirling inside him disappeared.

Simultaneously, the power that distorted Angel’s perception also weakened.

Tangible evidence was that when Angel looked up at the person again, the person was no longer a ”fake” old photograph, but became a real person.

Even the previously indistinct face seemed to clear up as if the clouds parted.

Yet Angel dared not stare at the person, only sneaking a glance to confirm that it was an amiable-looking old man with white hair.

At this moment, the white-haired old man was watching the dancing green Pattern around Angel with a peculiar gaze.

”This power...” The white-haired old man’s lips quivered as if wanting to say something, but ultimately didn’t, his eyes showing a hint of doubt, emotion, and an almost undetectable wariness.

Angel didn’t hear clearly what the other person was saying, he slightly raised his head, ensuring his eyes didn’t meet the other’s, as a gesture of etiquette: ”Esteemed sir, may I know the reason for your presence?”

The white-haired old man withdrew his gaze from the Domain Field, examined Angel, and after a few seconds, slowly said, ”You seem to know who I am?”

Angel didn’t expect the sudden appearance of the person, but got asked such a question.

”I do not know who you are, sir.”

The white-haired old man chuckled softly, ”Haven’t you already guessed in your heart? Go ahead, tell me about it.”

Angel was silent for a few seconds this time.

After the domain field covered his entire body, bringing him a slight sense of peace, he had some spare capacity to think about other matters, such as the identity of the person before him. He indeed had a conjecture.

Perhaps, it was the same person Ferro encountered outside yesterday. That kind of power that distorts memory and perception was something Ferro had experienced before, and Ferro described it as a... fake photo.

It was exactly the same as what Angel had truly sensed.

Because Ferro had encountered this person, and the other party did not immediately show malice, even kindly reminded Ferro. So when Angel speculated that the other party might be the same person, he didn’t immediately show any abnormalities, even dared to speak actively.

However, he still couldn’t confirm the true identity of the other party. There was also a slight possibility the other party was the legendary Number 00, though unlikely, it couldn’t be ruled out. So he first spread his domain field around, in case his judgment proved wrong and resulted in catastrophic disaster, he might try using the green pattern to see if he could overturn the situation before death.

But at this moment, when the white-haired old man asked him this question, Angel understood that his guess was correct.

This person was indeed the one Ferro encountered.

”Do you have an answer?” the white-haired old man said leisurely.

Angel replied in a low voice, ”Is it... the Observer?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the white-haired old man was taken aback for a second, the smile on his lips widened, ”You’re quite bold with your guesses, was it Frost who told you?”

When the white-haired old man uttered the name ”Frost”, Angel had already confirmed that the person before him was indeed the Observer.

He guessed it was the ”Observer” because the situation in the Southern Domain was quite special. Due to the absence of any legends emerging for years, the World Will was making some changes and, coupled with the instigations of extreme sects, any extraordinary life form above legend entering the Southern Domain would almost always trigger a reaction from the World Will.

This reaction, to put it simply, was an anomaly. As long as one was above legend, this anomaly mechanism would be triggered.

Once these anomalies were discovered, they would definitely be spread throughout the entire Wizards’ Realm quickly.

And this white-haired old man was clearly above legend, as concluded by Kanter earlier. As a being above legend, if he entered the Wizards’ Realm, he would have certainly been discovered.

But now, there was no intelligence about the white-haired old man at all, which indicated that maybe this white-haired old man was not a recent arrival in the Southern Domain.

This way, if one calculated, someone who has been in the Southern Domain, without triggering the anomaly mechanism, and whose presence cannot be detected at the pyramid apex, there is only one.

Someone who swore to the Will of the Wizards’ Realm... the Observer.

Angel had vaguely had this conjecture before, and today he merely sought confirmation by speaking it out.

Now it seemed, his guess was indeed correct, the visitor was the Observer.

Because, as the Observer and a deep observer of the Southern Domain, they would certainly be able to detect the arrival of Legendary Wizards, but detecting them and recognizing them are two different things.

The fact that the white-haired old man could recognize Frost’s identity and knew that Frost had contact with Angel, also indicated that the white-haired old man had been in the Southern Domain for a long time, indirectly confirming his identity.

”Lord Frost did not reveal the Observer’s identity to me. I learned about the Observer’s existence from Lord Culori’s journal, stating that three hundred years ago, Lord Belos came to the Southern Domain to perform missions with the Observer.”

A strange light flashed in the white-haired old man’s eyes, ”Culori’s journal, hehe, it should be called the Belos Observation Diary. Culori’s coveting of Belos is not a day-old affair...”

After a pause, the white-haired old man looked at Angel, ”So, you entered the secret chamber left in the Gemini Laboratory?”

The Gemini Laboratory is those two ruins at the Pamiji Plateau. One of which Angel is currently residing, and the other has been occupied by creatures from the Nightmare Realm, transformed into the Xinnai Land.

”Yes.” Angel was not surprised that the Observer knew about the Gemini Laboratory, because the Culori Chronicles clearly recorded that when Belos left the Southern Domain, he asked the Observer to take care of the Gemini Laboratory from time to time.

The white-haired old man asked, ”You weren’t affected by the Nightmare Light?”

Angel pointed to the green pattern domain field around him, ”It can prevent me from being corroded by the Nightmare Light.”

The white-haired old man looked at the domain field, his eyes flickering slightly, but he didn’t pursue it further. As someone who abides by the rules, he understands very well that this domain field is not simple, the green patterns within might involve the secrets of that world. The more you investigate, the more likely you are to get into trouble.

”Observer, about the Gemini Laboratory over there now...” Angel initially wanted to mention the matter of Xinnai Land. After all, since Belos had asked the Observer to take care of the Gemini Laboratory, the Observer should know about the situation of creatures from the Nightmare Realm. Maybe through the Observer, the ruins’ hidden dangers could be resolved.

But before Angel could say anything, the white-haired old man raised his index finger to his lips, making a ”silent” gesture.

”Since you know of the Observer, you should understand that the Observer cannot directly intervene in the process of the Wizards’ Realm. I know what you want to ask, but this matter is beyond my ability... Moreover, what goes on there is also beyond my intervention.”

Even if Culori came personally, it would be impossible. After all, it concerns that world. It’s precisely because it involves that world, he dares not focus too much attention on the Pamiji Plateau and the Eternal Night Country.
