Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2312: Chapter 2313: Visitor on the Salt Lake

Wilderness of Dreams, New City.

A girl in a blood-red, puffy dress, barefoot and holding a black parasol with red edges, walked at the end of the long street encircling the city.

The buildings nearby were mostly completed, tall and closely packed, yet devoid of people. Most were on the other side of the New City, where construction was still underway.

The girl in the exquisite dress, walking on the bustling yet empty brick street, against the backdrop of lingering overcast skies, presented a rather decadent artistic beauty.

Moreover, her blood-red dress was strikingly conspicuous, allowing anyone to notice her at first sight in the broad composition.

Lianna, flying in mid-air, was attracted by just this.

Lianna descended from high above, landing in front of the girl, scrutinized her for a moment, finally fixing her gaze on the girl’s bare feet, and then chuckled, ”Since you became a wizard, it’s the first time I’ve seen you standing on solid ground outside, Flora.”

The girl in the blood-red, puffy dress—Flora, rolled her eyes at her friend in mock annoyance, ”Do you think I want to? Lus’s energy value is too low to use levitation. The spiritual power here can’t support me floating, it’s so annoying.”

Lianna chuckled for a while, then took out a Scroll of Wind from a pouch on her waist and handed it to Flora, ”Take this for now, it’s stored with a basic load of Wind’s Force, enough to keep you afloat for ten days to half a month if you don’t use it for traveling.”

Flora took it, sensed it for a moment, ”It should barely suffice if I don’t use it to hurry on.”

While saying this, Flora activated the Magic Rune Scroll, and her expansive puffy dress swelled like an inflatable doll, causing Flora herself to float in mid-air.

Mastering the levitation skill again in the Wilderness of Dreams, Flora’s previously stern face finally gained a few shades of a smile.

Lianna came to Flora’s side, taking her arm, ”Didn’t you say the other day in the grove that you were still in Originheart City? How did you suddenly come here? It’s good you’re here; I’m short of hands.”

”This is why I didn’t want to come to the New City,” Flora muttered.

Lianna ignored Flora’s grumble, smilingly asked, ”So what brings you to the New City suddenly?”

Flora: ”Nothing much, the resources in Originheart City are too scarce. It’s difficult to conduct research there.”

Flora was telling the truth, but she had arrived in the New City via skycraft yesterday, though she had delayed entering the city until today because she needed to help Sumishe stabilize its body.

Now she was coming up hoping to meet Sanders.

”The mentor just returned to reality, said something about leaving, and entered the Wilderness of Dreams again. I’m worried something happened, so I came to check,” Flora said as she picked up the Mother Tree Interlinker, her previous message to Sanders remaining unanswered.

”Oh, I saw him enter the Rosewater Pavilion earlier; he’s probably talking to Lord Nami Midori there.”

”Lord... Nami Midori? Who’s that?” Flora mulled over the honorific, full of confusion.

”Come with me; I’m heading to the Rosewater Pavilion. We can talk on the way, and I have a guess about why Sanders suddenly said he was leaving,” Lianna said, pulling Flora towards the Rosewater Pavilion.

Along the way, Lianna recounted Nami Midori’s story. Most of it was her conjectures filled in, as all she knew came from the message Angel had sent.

But with her female intuition and naturally more perceptive thinking than men, her story was almost spot on with the real situation, differing only in details.

Flora’s expression on the way was one of shock.

The truth of the mystery of the Elemental Disappearance on Edge Island?! A world populated solely by elemental creatures, and it’s a subsidiary realm of the Wizards’ Realm?

This alone was unbelievable for Flora.

Moreover, the one who excavated all this was Angel!

”First the Wilderness of Dreams, then the world of elemental life,” Lianna smiled, ”Angel is really something.”

Lianna’s other reason for praising Angel was that these two pieces of news, enough to shake the Wizards’ Realm, would be announced at this year’s Tea Party.

By then, this Tea Party would undoubtedly become a benchmark that future Tea Parties could hardly surpass!

And the organizer of this Tea Party, Lianna herself, would gain countless benefits.

Flora felt a bit complicated. Her impression of Angel was still of that shivering child on the Bauhinia Vessel.

However, now, event after event testified to Angel’s potential and his incalculable value.

All this within just a few short years.

From disbelief to jealousy to now... Flora finally let it go.

Although she still felt a bit unbalanced psychologically, the facts remained there, and she had to let go of her past pride.

She sighed along with Lianna, ”Yes, Angel is indeed impressive.”

Soon after, they arrived at the Rosewater Pavilion.

Upon entering the first-floor hall, they saw Sanders coming down the staircase from the second floor, with Angel by his side.

Previously, seeing Angel would have made Flora’s heart skip a beat in discomfort.

But after her earlier introspection, she found herself much calmer when looking at Angel again.

She floated smilingly to Angel’s side, lightly nudging his shoulder with her immaculate bare foot, ”Little brother Angel, you’ve really been up to a lot lately, I hear your name even in remote areas.”

Angel laughed a bit sheepishly.

”By the way, where’s Little Red?” Angel looked behind Flora, not seeing Little Red, which he found rather unsettling.

Flora: ”Little Red seems unable to come in; its mentor tried using the Dream Entering Technique before, but Little Red doesn’t need sleep and doesn’t take to this dream spell either.”

Mentioning Little Red, Flora felt a bit of regret. She’s never separated from Little Red, and now that Little Red couldn’t enter the Wilderness of Dreams, her desire to enter also waned considerably.

”Little Red is a Nightmare Realm being, and the Wilderness of Dreams is the gap between the Nightmare Realm, Dream Realm, and reality. It shouldn’t be impossible to enter,” Angel muttered, ”It should be able to come in; maybe the method is wrong?”

Flora’s eyes lit up, ”Little Red can really come in?”

Angel: ”According to logic, it should be possible. However, it may not be through the Dream Entering Technique. When I see Little Red, I’ll research it.”

Finding how to let a Nightmare Realm being enter the Wilderness of Dreams seems like a fascinating topic.

”Since you’ve said that, I’ll look forward to our next meeting,” Flora beamed, feeling that without Little Red at her side, something was amiss.

Meanwhile, Sanders and Lianna conversed.

”You’ve finished talking already? The Tree Spirit took Lord Nami Midori out for a walk?” Lianna looked regretful; she wanted to chat more with Nami Midori. If she could be persuaded to join the Tea Party... it would be even livelier.

However, since Nami Midori can enter the Wilderness of Dreams, there should be opportunities in the future as well. Thinking of this, Lianna let out a sigh of relief.

Sanders looked deeply at Lianna, seeming to see through her inner thoughts, but simply didn’t bother to point it out.

Sanders understood the importance of the Tea Party in the hearts of the Witches, although he personally found it quite boring.

Sanders turned to look at Flora: ”I saw your message among the trees, and I have sent you the information about Nami Midori and the situation of the Tidal World. I’m leaving for the Tidal World myself to see the situation firsthand.”

Flora nodded. Previously, Sanders had mentioned he was leaving, and she was worried something had happened at the Barbarian Cave, or that Sanders was displeased with them. But now, knowing the situation of the Tidal World, she understood it was necessary.

The emergence of the Tidal World is significant enough to cause a shock in the Wizards’ Realm.

With Sanders there to oversee and Angel, as the discoverer, there could be opportunities to secure greater benefits for Illusion Demon Island.

Flora also wanted to explore the matter, but Sumishe had just shown signs of resurrection, and she hadn’t given up her research on the Blood Fusion Virus, so she couldn’t leave the area of the Red Plague followers for now.

”I understand.” Flora continued, ”Then about Sumishe over there...”

Sanders: ”I have sent the information to him too; he should already be aware.”

At this point, Flora did not say much more.

Sanders: ”After I leave, you and Sumishe must be extra cautious, especially you. The research on the Blood Fusion Virus is not accomplished overnight, and the followers of the Red Plague cannot be easily manipulated. If a few more Archbishops appear, both you and Sumishe might end up buried there.”

Facing the rare concern from Sanders, Flora felt a slight ripple in her heart.

With a solemn tone, she replied: ”I will be careful.”

Sanders patted Flora’s shoulder, and he actually had high expectations for Flora’s perseverance. He hoped she could indeed embark on the path of True Knowledge through the Blood Fusion Virus.

They exchanged a few simple pleasantries, then Sanders and Angel both went offline together.

Returning to reality, Angel opened his eyes on the Gondola.

”It’s about to begin,” Angel said softly.

Dangross, sitting on the table, looked over curiously: ”What’s about to begin?”

”You’ll find out soon enough.” Angel casually replied and then instructed Speedy to lower the Gondola, finally landing on the ground.

”You all stay on the Gondola, Speedy and Lobal stay too, do not follow me, to avoid being accidentally injured by Spatial Energy.” Angel turned to the Elemental Creatures and said.

After speaking, Angel jumped down from the Gondola alone.

He looked around his surroundings.

The ground was covered in fine, soft white sand, and not far away was a salt lake that seemed to stretch endlessly, where it met the sky.

The salt lake was not deep, at its deepest only submerging to the waist. The lake bottom was pure white crystal, and the refractive index of salt water was far lower than that of fresh water, making the salt lake, viewed from afar, appear as a pure and immaculate water mirror.

The azure sky, and the massive convective clouds like inverted mountains, were reflected in this water mirror, revealing stunning beauty.

”Such a scene is hard to see in the outside world.” Angel gave full affirmation to the beauty in front of him.

And such beauty, in the untainted Tidal World, was everywhere. Moreover, this vast salt lake wasn’t even among the top sights, it didn’t even have a name.

Yes, this salt lake is indeed a nameless place.

It is also the most stable area for Spatial Energy, as located by Speedy.

The nearest Elemental Territory is the Green Forest Domain, several hundred miles away. Usually, no Elemental Creatures would visit here.

Due to the unique property of the salt water, even Water System creatures wouldn’t come here, making it an ideal location for using the Plane Corridor.

Angel stepped into the salt lake, and his black-gold boots did not sink into the water, but instead treaded along the surface without causing any ripples.

Walking along this sky-reflecting mirror for about a hundred meters, Angel stopped.

Silently he recited the Path Mark given by Sanders and took out the casting materials he had prepared in advance.

The Mind Space constructs a model, the materials provide support through Special Energy.

As ripples spread beneath his feet, cracks began to appear before Angel. When the cracks reached a peak, a mass of mirror-like fragments burst open.

An ominous, pitch-black, abyss-like hole appeared out of nowhere.

On the Gondola in the distance, Cubic watched Angel intently, wanting to see what he was about to do. Upon witnessing the strange abyss appear, it seemed to realize something, and its previously lively expression suddenly changed.

At the tip of Lobal’s tail, feeling the massive rush of Spatial Energy from the abyssal entrance, a subtle change of expression occurred: ”Is it finally happening?”

Cubic: ”...It seems so.”

Dangross was also watching, but like Lobal’s main and secondary heads, it was completely befuddled: ”What are you talking about, what’s coming?”

”Change.” Cubic paused, seeming to find that term insufficient to describe everything, so altered it: ”Or perhaps, the Great Change.”

”The Great Change of the Tidal World?” Dangross was not dim-witted, with just a hint from Cubic, it immediately caught on.

”Are humans about to arrive?”

”When Mr. Pat appeared here, it was only a matter of time until this day arrived. I just didn’t expect it to be so sudden.” Cubic sighed lightly, despite having accepted the fact that humans would enter the Tidal World, now that the day had come, even the usually composed Cubic felt a trace of unease.

Not only Cubic, but Lobal’s tail-end likewise rarely showed a worried expression.

Its concerns differed from Cubic’s; it concerned itself with not being by the side of Hurricane Huborio in this world-changing moment and was uncertain about what decision His Highness will ultimately make.

The thoughts of everyone on the Gondola were very complex at this time.

Over on the other side, in the open Black Abyss, after a few minutes, the outline of a human silhouette finally appeared.

The black silhouette, as it left the dark abyss, changed from flat to three-dimensional.

Light is the shaping brush.

Sketching out a perfect and tall figure.

The arriving one is Sanders.
