Chapter 2199: Chapter 2200: User Feedback

Angel: ”How are things with the Mentor now?”

”I wasn’t really injured, it’s Sumishe and Flora who got affected when the initial God’s Chosen exploded with energy. Flora’s injury is minor, but Sumishe was unfortunately hurt even more,” Sanders said, sighing. ”If it hadn’t been for my support, his strength could have fallen below True Knowledge. In that case, even if his mental state remained unchanged, it would take several years to regain True Knowledge.”

”And what’s the current situation with the God’s Chosen?”

Speaking of the God’s Chosen, Sanders felt a wave of fatigue: ”Although the God’s Chosen’s power has now regressed to Level 1 True Knowledge, the power bestowed by the Demon God is a spatial control capability. In the end, he tore open space directly to escape. I suspect he’s hiding in some corner of the Void now...”

This God’s Chosen, while not as strong as Sanders, is extremely adept at escaping, especially with the Demon God’s enhancement of his spatial control abilities, making him difficult to capture.

Furthermore, given Angel’s understanding of Demon God worshipers, this God’s Chosen, having previously gained power at the expense of other Red Plague worshipers, surely would not submit to Sanders’ strength and is likely to seek revenge.

Angel wasn’t worried about the God’s Chosen taking revenge on Sanders, but his elusive abilities were indeed a great threat to Flora and Sumishe.

Sanders: ”There’s no need to worry about that. I’ve placed Flora and Sumishe in the Gravity Garden, so there shouldn’t be any issues.”

Angel was momentarily stunned, right, they could still hide in the Gravity Garden.

Considering this, why hasn’t Sanders chosen to leave then?

”Flora insists on continuing her research on the Blood Fusion Virus, and I’m also preparing to kill the God’s Chosen,” Sanders said, with an added undertone of coldness.

He normally isn’t like those of the Extreme Sect, killing others just for being Demon God worshipers, but acts according to his own preferences. However, this situation is different from usual; since the God’s Chosen attacked them, Sanders will certainly not choose to forgive. Moreover, Demon God worshipers, like members of the Extreme Sect, are madmen, always believing it’s either you die or I perish, making reconciliation impossible.

Therefore, Sanders remains in the area where the Red Plague worshipers are located, while secretly laying out a plan to lure out the God’s Chosen.

Determined that Sanders was fine, Angel breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t delve into exactly how Sanders would deal with the God’s Chosen, trusting that Sanders, given his resolve to kill, would be able to do it.

After discussing his own situation, Sanders also inquired about Angel’s status.

Upon learning that Angel had helped Frode stabilize the spreading death crisis and had returned to the Old Earth Continent on his own, Sanders merely nodded; he didn’t seem too concerned.

However, Angel’s next words caused Sanders to pause.

”Aside from visiting the estate, I also plan to see if there’s any suitable Elemental Creature when I return to the Old Earth Continent.”

The statement seemed harmless, yet considering the overall environment of the Old Earth Continent, it was quite peculiar.

The Old Earth Continent, referred to as Edge Island in the Wizard Realm, isn’t called the edge due to a remote location, but because it’s an Elemental Desert, where one can barely sense any Elemental Power and stands at the fringe of the Extraordinary World.

Among the quests in the Task Hall of various Witcher Organizations, the mystery of ”Edge Island’s Elemental Disappearance” always remains, unsolved for thousands of years.

And now Angel suddenly claims he wants to find an Elemental Creature in the Elemental Desert, which is the peculiar part.

Sanders muttered ”Elemental Creature” a few times, then looked up at the refined young man opposite him.

He seemed to have thought of something and wanted to ask several times, yet ultimately held back.

In the end, he gazed deeply at Angel and uttered just one sentence:

”Are you planning to start something big this time?”

Angel: ”Huh?”

He deliberately mentioned Elemental Creatures to hint to Sanders that he was going to solve the unsolved mystery that had hung for thousands of years and already had clues... to pique Sanders’ curiosity to ask for details, so he could then maintain a mysterious smile, profoundly saying ’You’ll find out then,’ while witnessing Sanders’ choked-up reaction, all to satisfy his tiny vanity.

However, Sanders didn’t ask for specifics; instead, he asked if he was planning to stir things up again? The turn of events was unexpected!

Moreover, is he the kind of person who often stirs things up? Angel couldn’t help but think indignantly.

”You are,” Sanders pointed out bluntly, even without Angel speaking, guessing his thoughts.

Sanders rubbed his increasingly aching brow: ”I can’t be bothered listing all the troubles you’ve caused again; just tell me what scale you’re planning this time.”

Angel was silent for a moment, deciding not to argue with the Mentor over irrelevant matters: ”I’ve merely discovered a bit of a clue on the mystery of Elemental Disappearance, and I’m currently investigating.”

Seeing Angel’s serious expression, Sanders thought to himself: It’s probably not just investigation if he’s talking about finding an Elemental Creature; he must have a much further clue.

An Elemental Creature in the Elemental Desert? What secret could this harbor... could it be the principle of extremes meeting?

Although aware Angel was withholding some facts, Sanders didn’t plan to press further.

Knowing Angel’s character, since he deliberately brought this up, he’ll eventually explain. —After all, the aftermath of the commotion still needs someone else to handle.

”You decide on your own, I’ll see what answer you can provide then,” Sanders, despite criticizing Angel for stirring up trouble, appreciates big developments; although the bigger the issue, the more troublesome, it also signifies greater gains. The benefits of Angel’s past exploits have been directly proportional to the commotions he’s caused.

After this, Sanders ceased inquiries.

Angel opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but eventually remained silent. It’s not too late to reveal the secret of the Tidal World later.

They then chatted about some trivial updates, such as Sanders’ rare approval of Flora’s dedication to researching the Blood Fusion Virus; and Angel discussing Earl Mi’s control by the Seed of Distortion, transitioning to the topic of Demons of the Panic Realm.

The conversation lasted roughly half an hour, at which point Sanders intended to return to reality. The first reason was to guard against the God’s Chosen’s surprise attack; the second was to prepare calculations for which type of Authority would suit Sumishe best.

...

After Sanders left, Angel planned to go offline as well but paused when recalling a message from Jon, pulling out the Mother Tree Interlinker.

Jon asked him to experience the new version features of the Tree Group, and then private message him.

Thinking of this, Angel followed the prompts and found the ”Function Integration” at the bottom of the new version of the Tree Group interface. With a gentle touch, a row of new function buttons appeared.

These function buttons were previously unavailable, evidently part of the update content of this Version 0.

Angel did not immediately check the specific functions but first clicked on the topmost function button: Update Announcement.

As soon as it was clicked, a new page popped up.

This announcement page is in the parchment letter format that wizards are very familiar with, and the font is invented by Jon himself. It looks fancy but doesn’t fully let go, maintaining a bit of restraint and introversion.

At first glance, this font looks like someone who desires to be free-spirited but must appear serious.𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Previously, when Lianna saw this font while looking at Jon’s upload of the ”Overview and Detailed Rules of New City Planning” on the Mother Tree Forum, her comment was: Judging by the font, Jon is very much like you and Sanders, both being very repressed.

Angel, however, felt that Lianna was simply taking the opportunity to belittle Sanders, and he and Jon were just incidental. He didn’t consider this font repressive but rather reserved.

Angel admired the font with full appreciation, then focused on the update announcement.

The content of the announcement was all about the introduction of new features after the Tree Group’s version update.

Angel had previously noticed the removal of bubble color distinctions, replaced by name distinctions; the recording of message send time was reflected in the announcement content.

In addition, there was mention of the roles of each function key in the ”Function Integration”.

These include editing personal profiles, friend lists, adding friends, etc.

The announcement content was not much, but every feature was a major iteration, gradually aligning with Earth’s social software.

Angel also experienced the different features one by one according to the update announcement.

The personal profile is fundamental; every new user entering the Tree Group will fill out their profile first. Existing users can also edit their profiles, but the current version doesn’t support unlimited edits; changes can only be made once.

Since the Tree Group currently doesn’t have many users, Jon knows all the user names, so he has considerately filled in Angel’s name on the personal profile.

Angel could edit and change it; he could use Transcendental Wizard instead of his real name. However, in the current Mother Tree network environment, except for Jon’s name being ”Tree Group Development Team”, everyone still uses real names instead of screen names.

Angel has a vision beyond the current network era, but he doesn’t plan to go against the flow now, so he didn’t change the name.

As for the details like the friend list, Angel checked all of them, and there were basically no errors.

After all, Jon stands on the shoulders of predecessors, having experienced the era of information explosion. He has a clear direction and plan, so no matter how the Tree Group develops, it won’t be too bad.

After Angel finished experiencing it, he sent friend requests to Sanders and Jon.

Sanders was already offline and didn’t accept it temporarily, but Jon accepted Angel’s request immediately.

Soon after accepting, Jon sent Angel a message: ”Did you experience the new version? What do you think?”

Angel knows Jon’s character well; he hurriedly asked not because he was not confident in his work but simply needed user feedback or a special case like Angel to provide feedback.

The Tree Group, which Jon established, mimics Earth’s network era social software, and the client group of Earth’s social software are naturally modern humans of the information age. Although humans dominate the Wizards’ Realm, Jon worries that due to the difference in civilizations, such software may not adapt well in this realm.

So, someone like Angel, who understands both Earth’s civilization and the wizarding world, is needed for client feedback.

”Do other users have any opinions about the new version?” Angel didn’t answer immediately and asked instead.

Jon: ”Not really, they’re using it quite fluently. The witch Lianna is already urging for more interlinkers. I’ve already ground all my Mother Tree branches into powder; for now, there’s still some capacity to supply. But with a large number of Transcendents entering the New City every day, I estimate these Mother Tree branch powders won’t last long. I contacted you also intending for you to bring more branches to me.”

”I’ll give you the Mother Tree branches later.” Angel paused, then continued typing: ”Since no one has any complaints, and the Transcendent users are surging, doesn’t this mean the new version of the Tree Group is quite good?”

Jon: ”Well, that’s true, but without a root server, I don’t know if new users prefer browsing the Mother Tree Forum or the Tree Group.”

The Mother Tree Forum has not been updated yet, but the Tree Group has been iterated, which is why Jon is apprehensive about the new version of the Tree Group.

”The monitoring of data flow is indeed something that needs attention. I’ll delve into the Mother Tree network later and materialize this feature in the immersive network through server means. At that time, I’ll distribute permission to you.” Angel said.

Jon immediately replied with joyful affirmation: ”Big data might be useless initially, but it will be very useful in the future.”

Angel brought the topic back: ”Let’s talk about my thoughts. Just as I said before, since other users aren’t averse to the new version of the Tree Group, it means they’re accepting this setup.”

”From my personal experience, it’s quite good, but many features seem not yet included, like creating a new chat group.”

Currently, there’s only one chat group in the entire Tree Group, and all users are in it. Just now, Angel glanced at it and found it was full of Lianna giving instructions, providing opinions on New City construction, and apprentices involved in the construction responding according to her ideas.

It has essentially devolved from a general discussion group into a chat group for New City construction.

This has already shown an imbalance in the chat group, requiring new chat groups for separation.

Moreover, when Angel looked at the previous chats, besides Lianna, he occasionally saw the bubbles of Ironclad Granny and Tree Spirit, but the chat bubbles of Kudodo, Babaya, and others had completely disappeared since the beginning.

After all, with different levels... when Angel spoke in the chat group initially, they all trembled. With such greater presences appearing in the chat group, they wouldn’t dare to be presumptuous. Fearing to say something wrong, they simply didn’t chat in the group at all.

This obviously goes against the original intention of establishing the chat group.

Jon: ”I know about this too, but meals have to be spoon-fed; if too much is given at once, they’d also be overwhelmed. Version 0 primarily focuses on private chats and adding friends.”

”In future versions, we’ll talk about creating new chat groups. I’m also considering whether to completely remove the chat group creation restriction like Earth’s civilization, or adopt a guild-like application system.”
