Chapter 2173: Chapter 2174: A Severed Hand

The Magma Breath of Grolda was like a volcano erupting after centuries of accumulation, with such force and intensity of energy that it could overwhelm Earl Mi’s ice power and inflict real damage on him.

The coverage area of Magma Breath extended from the sky to the earth, completely blocking all of Earl Mi’s escape corners.

The only retreat path was guarded by the flame Phoenix at the rear.

Seeing all routes of retreat blocked, Earl Mi displayed ”anger and despair,” as terrifying icy energy congregated around him, transforming into an ice storm that blotted out the sun and swept towards all directions.

The first to bear the brunt was the Magma Whale Grolda.

Even with the hindrance of Magma Breath, the ice storm still raged towards Grolda. Moreover, because it was releasing Magma Breath, Grolda’s massive mouth was agape, and the ice storm was about to blow into its mouth and enter its body.

Instinctively, Grolda wanted to stop the Magma Breath.

The flame Phoenix, seeing this, immediately roared in fury, ”Don’t stop! Grolda, you fool, this is a desperate struggle, trying to exchange injury for injury to force you to stop!”

The flame Phoenix also knew that if the ice storm entered Grolda’s body, it would certainly suffer, but after all, this is the home court of fire-element creatures. Once injured, soaking in the Lava Lake for a while will ultimately heal it.

Therefore, even if it’s an exchange of injury for injury, it still thinks it’s worth it! But what it didn’t know was that all this was Earl Mi’s calculation, designed just to find Grolda’s elemental core.

Grolda didn’t think that far ahead either, but since Phoenix told it not to stop, Grolda suppressed the desire to close its mouth and continued to spew Magma Breath.

In fact, the Magma Breath did deal damage to Earl Mi.

Even though he transformed into an energy state, he still needed to maintain ice power. Ice is naturally incompatible with fire, and under the restraint of magma, his true body could not avoid being affected.

In fact, the Magma Breath directly forced out his true body.

In his true form, for the first time, a bluish crystal escaped from his sharp lips, which was the blood of the awakened Demon People.

Even the Blue Lantern Flower on top of his head seemed to wilt slightly.

Seeing this, the flame Phoenix was delighted and said, ”Continue, he’s already done for!”

But as soon as it finished speaking, it discovered that not only did Grolda not continue spewing Magma Breath, but the force of the Magma Breath was also becoming weaker and weaker.

The flame Phoenix turned its head in anger, just about to scold Grolda when it discovered that Grolda was suddenly hovering in mid-air motionless, and those eyes burning with black fire somehow started to freeze over...

The flame Phoenix was momentarily stunned, and a look of shock flickered in its flames-formed eyes.

It was quite close to Grolda and knew that Grolda’s elemental core, inherited from the Old King, was a mass of fiercely burning black fire, connecting to its eyes. Hence, its eyes appeared in the form of black fire.

Now, Grolda’s eyes were freezing over, which meant... its elemental core was also frozen?!

As soon as it realized this, Earl Mi, who previously seemed desperate and weak, suddenly turned its head.

In his cold eyes, where was there any ”anger, despair, anxiety”? What was seen before was entirely an illusion!

Though Earl Mi said nothing, it was as if the flame Phoenix could hear his taunting: ”Found it.”

Found what?

Before the flame Phoenix could break away from Earl Mi’s gaze, an extremely icy ray shot towards its forehead.

In its forehead was exactly where its elemental core was located!

Instinctively, it wanted to flap its wings to cover it, but it realized its wings had already been frozen by the previous ice storm. It could only watch helplessly as the white light penetrated its forehead.

Immediately, the flame Phoenix felt its mind freeze, and in the next second, it fell into boundless darkness.

Before its consciousness froze, it seemed to see a scene from an Otherworld, a world shrouded in darkness, barrenness, coldness, and fear...

The flame Phoenix and the Magma Whale, both with solidified eyes of fire, fell from the sky one after another, crashing into the ice river formed by frozen smoke, and fell heavily into the dust.

Witnessing this scene, Dangross could hardly believe its eyes, Phoenix and Grolda, both actually defeated?

”How could it be? How could it be! Phoenix is the strongest under the New King, it can’t lose. And Grolda’s fire was obtained from that One... it’s the inextinguishable ember... how could they fail...”

Dangross’s tone carried disbelief, and all its past confidence seemed to turn into bubbles at this moment.

As Dangross was muttering to itself, a shadow suddenly blocked its view.

”Found you.”

With a low hum, Dangross only saw a pair of large hands wearing exquisite gloves reaching towards it.

When it realized what was happening and wanted to flee, it was too late. A pulling force pulled its true body out of the eyes of the fire giant.

The person who caught Dangross was Angel.

After continuously narrowing down the range, Angel finally determined Dangross’s specific location.

”Didn’t expect you to be hiding in its eyes, covered by the energy of the fire giant outside, no wonder it wasn’t found earlier.” Angel muttered softly while focusing his attention on Dangross.

He was really curious about what Dangross actually looked like.

Angel had previously imagined that since Dangross always stayed on other elemental creatures, perhaps its true body looked like a parasitic worm, or like a small flame fish with a sucker.

But when he actually caught Dangross, he was stunned.

His previous guesses were entirely wrong; Dangross did not look at all like a parasitic creature, nor did it look like a magical creature.

It was just a hand.

A severed hand.

Though it was only a palm and a wrist less than five centimeters long, it was indeed a hand, even resembling a human hand quite a bit. The only difference was probably that this hand was composed of flames.

It had five fingers, and all five fingers were flexibly moving.

Angel held Dangross’s wrist, and its fingers desperately tried to break free but couldn’t manage it at all.

”You are Dangross? Why is there only a hand?”

Angel had never before seen an elemental creature in this shape, and he suspected that this hand might be part of a complete true body?

”Let me go, let me go! Damn spy!” Dangross’s fingers kept moving but to no avail.

Angel curiously turned the severed hand over to the palm side and found there was actually an eye and a mouth in the palm.

The mouth of Dangross was babbling fast, all cursing Angel, but unfortunately, its voice sounded very childish, and the curses were very childish, hardly even qualifying as swear words.

”Where are your brothers and sisters?” Angel asked, shaking Dangross.

Dazed from the shaking, Dangross instinctively responded, ”What brothers and sisters?”

Angel: ”The other limbs, right hand, left foot, right foot, head and such.”

”What is that?”

Angel squinted his eyes, ”You don’t have any siblings? You were born just as a... hand?”

Dangross: ”The unique me, how could I possibly have siblings! Ahhh, let me go, stop shaking, stop shaking!”

”Didn’t you say you’re a descendant of Kalomchis?”

”The great Kalomchis!” Dangross said angrily, ”I was born from the ashes of my ancestor, of course I’m its descendant!”

Hearing this, Angel roughly confirmed in his mind that Dangross’s true form might really just be a severed hand without any other parts.

As Angel was observing Dangross, a swirl of snowflakes suddenly drifted over around him.

Within the snowflakes, the shape of Earl Mi slowly emerged.

Angel glanced at Earl Mi’s abdomen and back, where there was still a singed smell, precisely the area injured before.

”How are your injuries?”

With a wave of the Blue Lantern Flower, Earl Mi indicated to Angel that he was fine.

Angel reached out and touched Earl Mi, letting his spiritual power swirl inside Earl Mi’s body. Indeed, as Earl Mi had said, he wasn’t seriously injured.

At most, his energy was somewhat depleted and needed some time to gradually recover.

With another gentle shake of the Blue Lantern Flower, Earl Mi conveyed new thoughts to Angel, inquiring whether to remove the Frost Domain.

The Frost Domain was constructed by Earl Mi’s talent, and if in an area rich with snow and ice power, it could basically sustain itself without depletion. But now, in the Region of Fire, it couldn’t absorb power from the outside to replenish, and had to consume Earl Mi’s own energy.

After freezing the Magma Whale and the Flaming Phoenix, Earl Mi’s energy had been nearly depleted, and the Frost Domain couldn’t be maintained for much longer, which was why he sought Angel’s opinion.

Angel looked at the crouched fiery giant in front of him, and then at the two enormous creatures lying in the snowy ground in the distance.

According to Dangross, these were the top combat powers of the Region of Fire.

Now, they were all defeated by Earl Mi, their elemental cores frozen, essentially unable to resolve peacefully.

He had initially intended to explore the Region of Fire in a mild manner, but now, it seemed that he had no choice but to take the route of forceful suppression.

Boom——

Across the Lava Lake, a loud noise erupted at this moment.

Angel didn’t need to think deeply to know that the defeat of Gulada and Phoenix had been communicated, and now must be the core region of the Region of Fire continuing its mobilization.

It might even be the arrival of the New King.

”How strong is the Fire Demon Midir?” Angel thought for a moment and turned to look at Dangross.

Dangross, who had been struggling to flee, began struggling to fight Earl Mi when he appeared around Angel, seemingly wanting to avenge Gulada and Phoenix.

However, Angel held its fate’s wrist tight, rendering its struggles useless.

”Let me go, I want to kill you, damn spies! I want to burn you all to ashes!”

Angel: ”I’ll let you go later. But first, you must answer me, how strong is the Fire Demon Midir?”

Dangross roared in fury, ”Even though I despise this New King, I won’t tell you, but it’s many times stronger than Phoenix!”

Angel stroked his chin, ”Much stronger than Phoenix... seems like, even if it’s a forceful route, it still needs to be avoided.”

After all, Earl Mi’s energy is greatly depleted now.

Angel weighed his options and turned to Earl Mi, ”Withdraw the Frost Domain, let’s leave first.”

Dangross: ”You won’t escape! The New King will burn you all to death!”

Angel ignored its shouting, gripping its wrist, and prepared to retreat.

”Aren’t you going to escape? Let go of me! Let go of me!”

Angel had no intention of letting Dangross escape, having encountered a speaking, albeit slightly faulty, elemental sprite, persuading it might reveal a lot of intelligence about this place.

Realizing Angel’s intent to take it captive, Dangross was afraid, its boasting diminished, and it continued listing its insignificance, immaturity, and foolishness, subtly pleading with Angel for mercy.

Hearing this, Angel remained silent, only thinking inwardly: If you weren’t foolish, I wouldn’t catch you.

In a panicked attempt, Dangross erupted flames from within its body, trying to escape with a surprise attack.

Remarkably, the flame’s temperature was beyond Angel’s expectations, higher than the previously encountered fiery giant’s.

Using his left hand, Angel was indeed scalded, unconsciously loosening his grip.

Dangross was elated and immediately tried to flee, but before it could, it was caught by a semi-transparent blue Hand of Magic.

Caught in the grip of fate again, Dangross couldn’t help but feel sadness.

Capture by the spy of Frost Isel would mean never returning to the warm magma pool, possibly forever confined to a sunless Ice Prison, extinguishing its last flicker of flame in the gloom.

It didn’t want such an ending!

It still yearned to restore the glory of its ancestors!

As Dangross despaired, a ”buzzing—” sound suddenly echoed throughout the world.

This sound wasn’t heard by the ears but directly resounded in every creature’s consciousness, a kind of continuous vibrating frequency with a strange wave from the sky.

At the moment of this strange wave’s arrival, the entire world seemed to freeze.

Earl Mi had been walking through the melting snow, but now paused, like a frozen statue.

Angel, about to take out The Gate of Void, was also affected by this wave, discovering that while he could still move, the elemental energy around him suddenly thickened, and even the air felt like it had turned to mire.

”What’s happening?!”

Angel’s heart skipped a beat, fearing an ambush. He scanned around as thoroughly as he could, noticing not only him but the entire Region of Fire enveloped by this strange wave.

Even the fire element creatures he trapped in the Illusionary Realm were like museum specimens, unable to move.

However, sounds and some magic power weren’t restricted.

As Angel pondered what was happening, Dangross, held by the Hand of Magic, suddenly laughed aloud, ”Hahaha! This is... the World’s Harmony!”

”The World’s Harmony?” Angel looked at Dangross in confusion.

Dangross’s eyes gleamed with schadenfreude, ”Even the World Will is helping me, standing on our side, you can’t escape!”
