Chapter 1982: Chapter 1983: Restoration

...the creature wearing leather shoes.

If we follow normal logic, it would probably be humans or humanoids, but the creatures in the Nightmare Realm obviously don’t adhere to normal logic. Both the Frog Crooner and the Fox Instrumentalist could walk upright and dress neatly. Therefore, without seeing the true appearance of the creature wearing leather shoes, it’s difficult to determine its exact identity.

”Did you have any revelation from the emotional readings just now?” Sanders asked Angel.

Angel: ”They were pretty much very vague and incomplete emotions, so deciphering them was meaningless. However, among all the useless emotions, there was one coherent emotion that stood out.”

Angel shared the information he had sensed.

”Minister, arrival, restoration,” Sanders muttered these words in a low voice, sinking into brief thought.

”On the surface, it seems that a minister has descended from the Nightmare Realm,” Angel furrowed his brows. ”I don’t know if it’s his true body or just an emissary. If it’s the former, I have a bad feeling about it.”

Sanders’ expression also became serious: ”Creatures from the Nightmare Realm have a strong sense of hierarchy. If we consider official ranks and combine with my previous speculations, a ministerial level of power is probably not low. In fact, it might very well exceed Legendary level.”

Although Angel also suspected the minister would be powerful, he didn’t expect Sanders to suggest above Legendary level. However, Angel was puzzled whether the World Will would allow such an entity to enter the Wizards’ Realm easily if it truly reached the Legendary level.

Angel’s doubt was quickly explained by Sanders.

”Barring any surprises, there should already be a half-channel in the ruins, which makes it part of a half-plane. A half-plane is a gap between the Nightmare Realm and the Reality World. The World Will isn’t the ultimate dominator, so as long as it doesn’t invade the Reality Realm, something Legendary appearing in a half-plane is possible.”

Sanders paused: ”Also, almost all the Nightmare Realm creatures lose significant power when descending to the Wizards’ Realm, even through fissures. So while a minister might be Legendary in the Nightmare Realm, they could be weakened in reality.”

However, these are merely hypotheses. Sanders couldn’t be fully certain of the opponent’s current power level. But in the Nightmare Realm, a ministerial rank should unquestionably be above Legendary.

Consider, on the outskirts of the Nightmare Realm, there are creatures above Legendary. The place where Greya’s body was lost is a gathering of Legendary creatures.

The creatures of the Nightmare Realm’s core, together with the ministerial rank, Legendary level is a certainty.

Angel listened with a palpitating heart; if a ministerial ranked creature descends on the ruins, and its power is still above Legendary, the Barbarian Cave would be unsafe.

”I hope, like last time in the Sleepless City, it’s just an emissary descended, rather than the minister himself,” Angel whispered.

Sanders’ expression wasn’t good either. Their speculation about ministerial rank was actually a lower-level perception of a higher-level being. Such perception is always an unequal, blind guess, just like talking about ice to summer insects, any conjecture is futile. Perhaps the ministerial rank is even stronger than they imagine, possibly ignoring world rules altogether.

Thinking of this, the atmosphere subtly became heavy.

Angel: ”Back at the Twilight Auction, the owl doll claiming to be Ollie mentioned some info about the ministers. Among them, Minister Mana seems responsible for supervision, Minister Gran enjoys speeches. Besides, I know another minister who is the owner of the Dalmatian in the Sleepless City, called Minister Dim.”

”If indeed a minister has descended, would it be one of these three?”

Sanders shook his head; nobody knows that answer. None of the three known ministers have revealed their strength, but Minister Dim’s Dalmatian, unless by exception, is a living Mysterious Object. This would even be a spectacle in the Origin World. To be the owner of a Dalmatian, Minister Dim’s power is certainly formidable.

Angel: ”Could the owner of those leather shoes be a minister?”

”Probably not. If it were a minister, he would definitely show himself to you,” Sanders softly dismissed, seeing the shoe owner’s rank much lower than Shava, hence not daring to appear in Angel’s field of vision. Just like in the Black Demon Country’s Night Demon City, when the parasites gained intelligence support, they would voluntarily avoid Angel, only from afar ”praising Shava,” telling of their awe.

However, even if the owner of those leather shoes isn’t a minister, Sanders still didn’t dare to relax easily. Because the sense of crisis he felt seeing those leather shoes still lingered in his heart.

If this level of creatures filled the ruins, imagining the danger inside would be hard.

Standing in the pavilion, Sanders looked towards the shimmering Star Pond in the distance, his gaze filled with heavy concern.

”Since your initial exploration has ended, let Lord Reine and the others return first; we’ll discuss the rest together later,” Sanders said.

Though the Star Pond currently appeared calm, who knew when it might change. For safety, Sanders dared not let the three guardians stay away too long.

Now that Angel had obtained some clues, it was time to let them return.

About ten minutes later, the guardian wizards returned to the three Observation Pavilions. Rhein and Tree Spirit appeared before them, but Nis and Ferro did not come along.

”...Minister, arrival, restoration?” Lord Reine had already learned these keywords from Angel, frowning as though deep in thought.

Simultaneously, the guarding wizards in the other two Observation Pavilions were also paying attention to the happenings here.

Ironclad Granny’s expression was grave, seemingly thinking of something, her eyes filled with worry.

On the other side, old man Wallace’s expression wasn’t good either. Although he didn’t know what ministerial rank meant, his innate Spiritual Sense already felt the unease.

”Next time, if you need to open the ruins again, be sure to tell us beforehand,” Tree Spirit reprimanded Sanders, fictitiously, before getting to the point: ”Setting aside other matters, such as the identity of the leather shoes and the minister, the most significant of the keywords should be the last one.”

”Restoration,” Tree Spirit accentuated this word: ”What exactly are they aiming to restore? Did the minister descend specifically for restoration?”

Sanders: ”Restoration refers to correcting and returning to the original state, meaning mending and perfecting based on what already exists. I have a hypothesis that they might be restoring something that originally existed in these ruins.”
