Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1965: Chapter 1966: Conversation

”He and Lyon went to the stone column arena in the Southern City.”

Jon’s answer surprised Angel: ”Eh? My brother is there too? Since when did he start hanging out with Popota?”

”It was Frode who told him to find Popota...” With Jon’s explanation, Angel understood the reason behind it.

Lyon recently started studying bloodline tricks, and because he is self-taught, he often encountered many doubts in his practice. He now resides in the Fangling Hall, and although he can ask Serum and others, they are not from the bloodline side. The only one who specialized in bloodline, Nausicaa, has already left the Sky Mechanical City.

So, Lyon brought these questions to the Wilderness of Dreams, asking Frode to help answer them.

Frode, though he dabbled in some bloodline tricks, is after all a dream system apprentice and doesn’t know much; many questions he couldn’t answer, so he recommended Lyon to find Popota.

Knowing that Lyon is Angel’s brother, Popota naturally shared everything he knew. In recent days, whenever Lyon came to inquire, Popota would put aside his work and take him to the stone column arena to teach him personally.

Although Jon is focused on researching the Mother Tree Network, he values Lyon’s future practice more, so whenever Lyon comes over, Jon gives the green light for Popota to teach him.

After hearing this, Angel felt a bit guilty in his heart.

He had been focused on introspection recently and forgot that Lyon’s mentor is not around; Lyon needs proper guidance to progress on the bloodline path.

Although Angel felt a bit guilty and was willing to spend time to properly guide his brother... his ability doesn’t permit it.

To actually teach Lyon wouldn’t work well either, because he is almost a total stranger to bloodline tricks, possibly even less knowledgeable than Frode.

Sanders probably researched bloodline tricks and even bloodline spell techniques, but it’s not possible for Angel to ask Sanders to teach Lyon; even if he did ask, Sanders would likely refuse.

Now it seems that only Popota can temporarily guide Lyon.

However, this is not a long-term solution. Popota has almost completely become a resident of the Dream Realm, and even though he has virtual magic power, he can’t control it... In other words, Popota is now no different from mortals. Although he has knowledge, he lacks the means to perfectly demonstrate the transcendent efficacy of bloodline tricks.

”Why not recruit some bloodline apprentices through the Task Hall later to serve as mentors for Lyon? Coincidentally, the Mother Tree network research also needs to recruit some talent.”

As Angel was secretly pondering this, the theater’s door suddenly swung open, and the warm sunshine streamed through the gap, casting a serene light on the slightly dim seating area.

Lyon and Popota entered through the open door.

Lyon’s hair was damp, and sweat covered his face and forehead. It was evident that he had undergone a high-intensity training session.

”Training here might not give your muscles memory, but your brain retains impressions. You must train well in reality while the impression is still fresh, turning impressions into experience...” Popota said as he walked, sharing some insights with Lyon.

When Popota’s voice abruptly stopped, Lyon was a bit confused. He looked up and saw Angel not far away.

Lyon’s face lit up with joy, and he hurried forward.

”Angel!” Lyon expressed his happiness enthusiastically. Initially, he wanted to hug Angel, but the seating arrangement only allowed him to clasp Angel as a gesture of delight.

Lyon sat down on the other side of Angel. Popota originally intended to give them some space, but since Lyon kept talking about Popota and his training after sitting down, Popota decided not to leave but instead sat in the row behind them.

After discussing his training for a while, Lyon shifted the topic to Angel: ”I asked Frode before, and he said you’ve been in seclusion recently. Did you come today because you’ve finished it?”

Angel shook his head: ”Not finished yet, just that my mentor asked me to come over today as he seems to have something to discuss with me. But he doesn’t seem to be here yet; since I was a bit tired, I decided to rest here in the theater while waiting for him.”

Lyon, hearing this, felt a bit guilty: ”Am I interrupting your rest then?”

Angel smiled: ”No, for me, chatting is also a form of relaxation and rest.”

Jon suddenly spoke up: ”I noticed while I was playing the piano earlier that you seemed to have some concerns?”

Angel noticed Jon’s eyes held a clear concern. Angel froze for a moment, realizing his personal emotions might have caused Jon to worry, and playing ”Sailor” was probably Jon’s way of soothing Angel through music.

Angel: ”Indeed, I have some concerns, but they’re not major issues.”

Angel did not hide it and spoke about the situation in the ruins. The reason for revealing the truth was to prevent Jon from worrying too much.

After listening to Angel’s worries, Jon’s concerns relaxed somewhat. Originally, he feared something significant had happened to Angel. If it was just concerns over unresolved mysteries, then it wasn’t that big a deal.

After Jon set aside his worries, he listened with great interest to Angel’s account of the peculiarities in the ruins.

With Angel’s presentation of the scene using the Mirage Technique, Jon had the feeling he was also part of the experience.

Jon attempted to help Angel solve some of the puzzles, contemplating the mysteries, but unfortunately, Jon knew too little about extraordinary abilities, and his escape room puzzle-solving experience back on Earth was of no help at all.

In the end, Jon sighed and remarked: ”It’s too complex. Are all the puzzles in the Wizard World this intricate?”

Lyon, having heard the entire process, had no ideas either, and echoed Jon’s sentiment: ”Indeed, very complex. If it were a little simpler, maybe I could help.”

Jon glanced at Lyon: ”With your noggin, even if it were simpler, you wouldn’t be able to help.”

Lyon glared angrily at Jon, who nonchalantly said: ”If you’re not convinced, come to the library later, and if you can solve the math paper I give you...”

Before Jon finished, Lyon was already deflated.

Jon sighed and said: ”Angel was able to solve those papers when he was ten. So, do you really think you can solve a mystery that Angel can’t?”

”Those are two different things, it’s a different level of thinking.” Lyon still wanted to argue, but his confidence was clearly lacking.

Angel initially watched with a smile as Jon and Lyon bantered, as it was a scenario he was very familiar with, reminiscent of past years... But while listening, a flash of inspiration suddenly crossed Angel’s mind.

Yet before Angel could grasp this inspiration, it vanished.

Though Angel didn’t understand what this inspiration meant, he had a vague feeling that he might have overlooked some details...?

Just as Angel intended to ponder this further, a message came from the mind space.
