Chapter 1934: Section 1935: Feeling of Time Being Off

When the future shatters into fragments of stars, the butterfly flaps its dreamlike wings, stirring up a breeze strong enough to ripple the waves of time, sending consciousness not belonging to this era back to the Origin Point—

Maya suddenly opened her eyes.

Before her eyes was still the floating hidden starry sky of the Observatory Hall.

But her consciousness still lingered in the previous fragments. Recalling that cruel scene, Maya’s complexion turned slightly pale, and a faint cold sweat seeped out on her forehead.

”Maya Witch, are you okay?” A mental thread, carrying a concerned inquiry, came to Maya’s side.

Maya looked up and found that the source of the mental thread came from Lapuye, the leader of the Crown Star Church. At this moment, he was looking at her from a distance with worried eyes.

Maya shook her head, signaled to Lapuye with her eyes that she was fine.

Lapuye said nothing more, but made a gesture indicating that Maya could rest for a moment before continuing to comprehend.

Maya calmed her mind, with the images from before still surfacing in her mind. She hadn’t expected that, instead of obtaining the intelligence about Angel she cared most about, she would gather information on Madeline.

According to the previous images, barring any unexpected events, Madeline would be killed by that strange girl in the future.

Although prophecy itself is a way of seeking truth within variables, even the Mystery of the Stars might still not happen as shown due to certain objective reasons, but the future reflected by the Mystery of the Stars, being the collapsed residue of countless timelines, according to its trajectory, is the most likely future to occur.

Therefore, without interfering with these variables, the possibility of Madeline being killed and devoured is very high.

Although Maya is not familiar with Madeline, she absolutely does not want to see Madeline die. After all, Madeline is also a person from the Barbarian Cave, and this matter must be reported.

As soon as the stargazing day ends, I will report it immediately.

After making this decision, Maya couldn’t help but think of that eerie girl whose neck could stretch dozens of meters.

Her face was something Maya saw for the first time. Her aura, Maya couldn’t perceive because she stood outside of time. But Maya always felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if she knew the girl.

Who could she be?

Maya pondered while continuing to raise her head to the starry sky above.

Whether by luck or some other factor, Maya stumbled again into the cracks of time before her consciousness was fully clear. She only felt a shiver, and suddenly she was on a vast plain.

Maya’s first impression on seeing this plain was very good. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the green grass, the singing birds and fragrant flowers, she could even see bees flying.

Just as Maya thought this might be an insignificant fragment, the world suddenly changed.

The sky opened a huge eye, terrifying evil spirits resurrected from the earth, an army of bones carried the chilling dark wind blowing from afar, monstrous evil deities descended from beyond the sky...

The earth cracked, magma gushed, space shook, and the scene transformed suddenly.

In this doomsday-like world, before Maya could take another look, she was thrown out from this terrifying fragment.

Before the future fragments completely dissipated, Maya vaguely saw a few people...

Maya woke up again, her pupils still in a dispersed state. After a long while, her spirit slowly returned to its light. Even so, the terrifying world scene still existed in her mind, causing her expression to be somewhat out of control.

”Mentor?” A low voice entered Maya’s ears.

The voice was very low, the tone very cold, yet it was like a wisp of icy wind, pouring into her disturbed mind, instantly extinguishing the heart fire that had risen, gradually awakening her from her bewilderment.

Maya’s pupils finally focused, noticing that it was Dororo who called her.

At this moment, Dororo no longer had that ”unfeeling deity” expression, resumed his usual indifference, but his eyes showed concern for Maya.

Maya could also sense her own abnormal state, feeling a coldness all over her body from the cold sweat seeping through.

Anyone who saw such a doomsday scene would feel the same as she did.

She didn’t know what exactly she had seen, but she remembered those faces she saw at the end of it... Maya shook her head, she decided not to think about it anymore and continued to observe the stars. If there were any questions, she would discuss them with other Prophet Wizards after the stargazing ended.

Thinking of this, Maya tried to calm her restless heart and forced a smile at Dororo: ”I’m fine, let’s continue stargazing. Don’t disturb the others.”

Before the words finished, Maya noticed that Dororo’s expression was quite strange.

Before Maya could investigate what Dororo’s expression meant, a voice with a hint of mischief entered her ear: ”Seems like Maya Witch gained a lot of information this stargazing, to the extent of even blurring the concept of time.”

Maya didn’t need to look to know that the speaker was definitely Skell, just from the tone.

Although Maya disliked this man controlled by desire, his words implied that...

Maya turned her head around and found that most people were looking at her. The ones not looking were either talking quietly or resting with closed eyes.

Maya looked up and found that the star map previously floating in mid-air had now disappeared.

By now, how could Maya not understand what Skell meant.

The stargazing day had already ended.

Maya’s eyes flashed with bewilderment; by her calculations, there should have been at least half a day left, so how did it end so quickly? Could it be that at the end of that fragment, her concept of time had been blurred?

But why was it blurred? None of the other prophecy fragments had such a situation...?

Or maybe the nearly apocalyptic scene caused her emotional turmoil to surge, ignoring the passage of time. Maya thought for quite a while and considered this possibility to be the greatest.

After confirming the stargazing day really ended, Maya felt both frustrated and regretful. In the end, she still didn’t complete the task entrusted by Lord Rhein, not only did she not resolve the matter concerning Angel, but she also couldn’t investigate the issue of the ruins.

However, despite the regret, Maya couldn’t help but wonder what the last fragment... ultimately meant?

While Maya was in a subtle mood, Lapuye, standing at the center of the Observatory Hall with the Star Crown on his head and clad in a starry robe, stood up.

Lapuye stood up but didn’t speak, instead, he raised the intricately crafted short scepter in his hand and gently tapped on the remaining starlight on the guiding platform.

After a gust of energy waves, the sky above the Observatory Hall was filled with dense stars.

But now this starry sky was not the Mystery of the Stars, but a Star Secret Technique mastered by Lapuye.

This Star Secret Technique’s effect is to soothe the restless mind.

This is a routine ceremony after the stargazing day because some Prophet Wizards, under the guidance of the Mystery of the Stars, are likely to immerse their emotions in future fragments, unable to extricate themselves for a long time. They might even experience emotional agitation.

Therefore, Lapuye spent his energy using the Star Secret Technique to calm everyone, so they could engage in the subsequent exchanges without being disturbed by emotions. Even if something monumental were to happen, they could calmly stand from an objective standpoint and communicate with everyone.

Of course, for seasoned Prophet Wizards, it actually doesn’t mean much. Because they can adjust their moods themselves.

But this time Maya was an exception, she is a seasoned Prophet Wizard, yet experienced intense emotional fluctuations, even losing sense of time, such occurrences are extremely rare.

Thus, Skell judged that Maya must have witnessed a shocking prophecy, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so disordered.
