Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1896: Section 1897 Foresight

Angel noted down every deficiency Jon mentioned. Although some of them related to ”user experience,” which Angel felt was a little redundant, since Jon brought them up earnestly, it seemed to hold reference value.

Overall, aside from the login devices, the deficiencies were split into two parts: ”user experience” and ”limited functionalities.”

Setting aside user experience for now, Angel could understand the matter of limited functionalities. He had experienced the various functions on the holographic tablet himself, so he knew what Jon wanted to convey.

The current Mother Tree Network only has a simple information interaction function. Compared to Earth’s information network, it’s indeed extremely crude.

As for how to remedy this deficiency, it requires ongoing research and development over time. Moreover, one’s manpower will eventually be exhausted, so more people need to get involved in the development of the Mother Tree Network.

Just like Earth’s network, which evolved from local to global, from wired to wireless, from simple storage to the advent of various software—all of these developments did not happen overnight. It’s a process of continuous renewal that consumes manpower and time.

After Jon pointed out these deficiencies, Angel already had a rough idea in his mind.

In the future, Jon could lead the development of the Mother Tree Network. As for the specific means of implementation, that would depend on finding appropriate talents later on.

Angel shared his plan with Jon, and after contemplating for a moment, Jon said, ”Indeed, I alone cannot perfect the Mother Tree Network. It’s not the power of extremity but the wisdom of extremity that requires collective wisdom. It needs more people to join in.”

”Moreover, to maximize the development of the Mother Tree Network, it’s best to have people whose vision and breadth are not bound.”

Angel nodded: ”I agree on that. In a while, I will bring some Transcendents from reality into the picture. At that time, Mentor Jon can select useful talents from among them.”

The Transcendents’ perspectives are certainly broader than the current residents of Originheart City. Plus, the essence of the Mother Tree Network is different from Earth’s network; its development undoubtedly requires Extraordinary Power, so those involved in this project are best to be Transcendents too.

”Naturally, that’s best, but...” Jon paused, ”To perfect the Mother Tree Network, quite a lot of talents are needed. There shouldn’t be many Transcendents outside, right? Can you find enough people?”

”Don’t worry about that; I surely have my methods,” Angel stated confidently.

Jon didn’t inquire about Angel’s methods, merely nodding to express understanding and then gave Angel a curious look: ”By the way, you mentioned letting Transcendents enter the Wilderness of Dreams earlier. Does that mean Extraordinary Power can now be used in the Wilderness of Dreams?”

Ever since Jon learned of the Wizards’ Realm, he has been deeply curious about Extraordinary Power. Unfortunately, the Wilderness of Dreams previously lacked Extraordinary Power, and with the later appearance of Demonic Fiends, Angel couldn’t let Jon risk fusion. Therefore, upon picking up on Angel’s deeper meaning, Jon couldn’t help but ask.

Since Angel mentioned letting Transcendents enter the Wilderness of Dreams, he didn’t intend to conceal anything, so he nodded and said, ”Unless something unexpected happens, it shouldn’t be long before the Wilderness of Dreams possesses its own Energy System.”

Once Sanders stabilizes the Energy System of the Wilderness of Dreams at the Magic Power benchmark, using Spell Techniques within the Wilderness of Dreams will also become a reality. Angel’s most anticipated ”Infinite Alchemy” might be realized as well.

Jon’s eyes lit up, just about to ask if he could learn wizardry when the time comes. But before he could, Angel had already anticipated his thoughts and spoke first: ”Although the Wilderness of Dreams currently doesn’t have an Energy System, I can mostly ascertain that by then, the constructed Magic System will resemble the power of a lucid dream—appearing normal yet essentially void.”

”The Power System of the Wilderness of Dreams can be used for research and experiments, but as for cultivation, I’m afraid it’s not viable.”

After hearing Angel’s words, Jon’s eyes revealed a hint of disappointment.

After all, crossing from a world without magic to a high magic world yet being unable to personally experience Extraordinary Power is somewhat regrettable for a scholar like Jon who loves research.

”But don’t be too disappointed. As I gain more Authority over the Wilderness of Dreams, maybe I’ll be able to let Mentor Jon possess power.”

Jon sighed, ”Didn’t you say it yourself? The power of the Wilderness of Dreams is ultimately illusory. Even if I possess it, it won’t have much use.”

Angel: ”Perhaps one day, the power of the Wilderness of Dreams might also be able to influence reality.”

Jon was stunned: ”The power in the Wilderness of Dreams can influence reality?”

Angel nodded: ”In this universe, everything is possible.”

Angel’s words sounded comforting, but he truly believed it. The very existence of the Wilderness of Dreams was already indirectly influencing reality. Though substantial things couldn’t be taken out, experiences could. For example, Lyon fought battles in Originheart City, learning combat techniques from Sir Sabel and boosting his combat experience—those could all be transferred to reality, albeit indirectly. Isn’t that influencing reality?

Moreover, while the Dream Realm is illusory, some existences from the Dream Realm can indeed influence reality, and creatures from the Dream Realm can even kill humans within people’s dreams. This directly crosses the boundary between real and illusory, demonstrating power in the Material Realm.

If a dream as ethereal as the Dream Realm can influence the Material Realm, then the Wilderness of Dreams, which isn’t purely a dream realm, might eventually spark a collision with the Material Realm once more Authority is mastered.

Though these ideas seem distant from Angel’s current state, as long as he keeps moving forward, there will always be a chance to realize them.

”I’ve heard that beyond legends are miracle levels. At that stage, every wizard creates miracles.” Although Angel’s understanding of Miracle Wizards is almost zero, in his mindset, the phrase ’creating miracles’ itself represents the power to turn wildly unconventional ideas into reality.

As long as the stage of thought remains unbounded, there will come a day to realize miracles.

”Frode mentioned before that currently the Southern Domain doesn’t even have legends, yet you’ve already set your eyes on miracles?” Jon lightly tapped Angel’s head: ”Overly ambitious.”

It seemed like a reprimand, but after saying ”overly ambitious,” you could see Jon’s eyebrows slightly raised and lips curved—not in ridicule but in genuine joy.

Talking dreams within Spring Autumn Pavilion is unrealistic. Yet walking while setting sights on the distant horizon, that’s a goal.

In Jon’s perspective, Angel was the latter.

Although he was dampening the enthusiasm somewhat, deep down he felt proud of the promising future and the grand vision Angel depicted.
