Chapter 1842: Section 1843: Let Nature Take Its Course

The foresight vision is not a destined future. Just like countless Prophet Wizards before, all trembled under the shadow of the Demon God, but ultimately, human power prevailed over prophecy, and the shadow of the Demon God did not descend.

The so-called prophecy is merely one of the many potential choices for the future, like a forked road, where you can choose to go left or right.

Although Angel didn’t know if what he speculated was the truth or whether the scene was within the Reincarnation Casket, as long as he didn’t make fatal errors in the future and avoided this option, the prophesied scene shouldn’t come to pass.

With this awareness, Angel felt much more relaxed when looking at the ”Doomsday Eye.”

According to his guess, Zorn should still be inside the Reincarnation Casket, so Frost might not have come out yet.

Angel had no expectations for Zorn, but he still hoped Frost could make it out alive. After all, Frost is one of the rare powerful wizards Angel has met who he could converse with.

After sending Greya off, Angel contemplated for a moment, then slowly closed his eyes.

He immersed all his thoughts in the Mind Space, in this strange space fixed by the Axis of Myriad Manifestations, Angel focused his attention on the Psychic Model above the Singularity.

To be precise, it’s the first Witchcraft Slot on the Psychic Model: The Gate of Void.

The basic effect of the Gate of Void is short-distance spatial displacement, which is a highly practical skill that can be used for both survival and assault.

Besides this basic effect, the Gate of Void also has a special effect.

The Gate of Void model is half constructed in a strange space using a special energy; the other half was built by Angel in the Wizards’ Realm using conventional methods.

This special energy grants the Gate of Void a special effect—

Opening a bizarre channel to traverse spatial distances with an illusory body.

However, this special effect has its limitations. The Gate of Void can only be activated when the special energy fills it. Although the special energy replenishes continuously, the replenishment speed is not fast.

This time, Angel immersed his thoughts in the Gate of Void to check how much the special energy had filled.

The reason for checking the filling level of the special energy is because the last time he opened the Gate of Void, he went to what should have been inside the Reincarnation Casket.

Angel wouldn’t deliberately go to get himself killed in reality, but if Dororo’s prophecy comes true, the only possibility would be entering the Reincarnation Casket using the Gate of Void.

Soon, Angel checked the result: the special energy had covered nearly 60% of the Gate of Void.

At this rate, perhaps a month and a half, or at most two months, would be enough to activate it again.

Angel silently watched the Gate of Void and rehearsed in his mind: The first issue, he definitely wouldn’t go to the location of the Reincarnation Casket in reality. So assuming the foresight scene is entered through the Gate of Void, should he temporarily not use the Gate of Void?

Angel answered this question without hesitation, and it’s a definite no.

The ”Trial Records of the Gate of Void” is an ongoing study by Angel, and he requires a lot of data to enrich this record. So once the special energy of the Gate of Void is filled, he will definitely activate it immediately.

The second issue, if the Gate of Void is activated, and there really is a chance to enter the Reincarnation Casket, should he go or not?

Angel felt a bit hesitant about this question. When he enters the Gate of Void, he uses an illusory body instead of his true body, so he’s not worried about dying. Therefore, even if he enters the Reincarnation Casket and Dororo’s prophesied scene comes true, he can be at ease.

But does he really need to enter the Reincarnation Casket?

Angel contemplated for a moment. The Reincarnation Casket indeed has things he wants to explore: for example, the follow-up on Alex. After all, he joined the Research and Development Institute, and Alex is very likely Ivor. If given a chance, Angel still wants to see how he is now.

Also, there are some core structures of the Reincarnation Casket. No matter what, it is a Mysterious Object, and as an Alchemist, Angel is certainly curious about the Reincarnation Casket.

However, while there are matters inside the Reincarnation Casket that Angel is keen to explore, he is equally curious about the endpoint of the strange channel.

In other words, whether to enter the Reincarnation Casket: currently, he can choose to go or not.

Angel thought for a while and decided to let nature take its course. Even thinking about it now, once he enters the strange channel, he might not be able to reach the Reincarnation Casket. After all, the last time he entered the Reincarnation Casket was by accident. Angel inadvertently ”got off” and ended up inside. Next time when the Gate of Void is activated, it might not entirely replicate the previous operation.

Because Angel has already forgotten where he ”got off.”

Even if he truly enters the Reincarnation Casket, it’s not a problem; he won’t die, and can always withdraw his true body. At most, he will lose the special effect of the Gate of Void once, then try again after a few months.

With a ”let it be” attitude, Angel stopped overthinking and withdrew his mind from the Mind Space.

The future matters can be dealt with in the future.

For now, deal with the current matters first. Besides, the Gate of Void won’t be able to open for another month and a half at least.

Thinking about it, Angel put aside Dororo’s foresight scene and focused on his own tasks.

...

In the following days, Angel’s life was very peaceful.

Rhein indeed kept his promise not to let the news of Angel’s return spread. So during these days on Illusion Demon Island, no one disturbed Angel.

During this time of solitude, Angel temporarily set aside various unnecessary and pointless thoughts, conducting a thorough and quiet self-reflection.

There are many aspects where Angel needed self-reflection. However, Angel also understood the principle of not biting off more than you can chew. He began his reflection from the most fundamental and core aspects.

The first priority was self-awareness.

For other wizards, self-awareness is essentially a spiritual journey. But for Angel, self-awareness isn’t just about interpreting from a subjective perspective; it includes starting from his ego, organizing, and analyzing the abilities he has and will have.

For instance, Angel possesses many abilities. While he could use them simply, he couldn’t completely integrate them into his system because he didn’t fully understand these abilities yet.

This might seem strange and absurd to others, but for Angel, it was very normal.

His right eye, his right hand, and the Green Pattern’s abilities—he has a general idea but still doesn’t truly comprehend them. These abilities were mostly acquired during Angel’s apprentice period and had already surpassed his comprehension scope at the time.

Moreover, Angel hadn’t had the time to understand them before.

So, Angel planned to take some time to meticulously analyze these abilities and try to digest them as much as possible, integrating them into his own capabilities system.
