Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1457: Section 1458: Falling into Calamity Again Chapter 1457: Section 1458: Falling into Calamity Again Greya first talked about her experiences during this period.

Initially, after Greya had created magic on Illusion Demon Island, she temporarily stayed in Barbarian Cave. Even after Sanders went to the Abyss and Angel returned to the Old Earth Continent, Greya did not leave.

It was not until an Apprentice from Black Castle was sent to Illusion Demon Island to find Greya.

Although the Apprentice was sent by Black Castle, accurately speaking, it was Felicia who had people look for her.

Black Castle had experienced an undead uprising, and Isabella was the first to invite Felicia because Felicia had stayed at Black Castle with Greya, owing Isabella a favor. Therefore, Felicia honored the invitation and promised to think of a way to solve the undead menace in Black Castle.

However, Felicia, by herself, could not do much. Thus, she thought of Greya and called her from Illusion Demon Island to Black Castle.

With their abilities, killing one or two undead was not difficult, but eradicating the problem was not easy.

What Black Castle needed most was how to transform from the root.

After discussing for nearly half a year in Black Castle, Greya and Felicia finally established a plan, the “Pure World Feast”.

Now, due to a millennium of accumulation, the resentment energy of the undead had invaded the material realm from the energy layer, including the land, which had been tainted by so many years of resentment, becoming barren, and even the trees were utterly withered. The change of the land, due to a long chain of effects, also influenced the weather—the originally clear skies were now covered with dark clouds.

The multiple changes of climate, land, and environment, along with the vast amount of corpses bringing a lingering energy of resentment, turned this place into a natural land favored by the undead.

Even undead not perished in Black Castle were attracted by the natural environment here, and gradually converged.

Years of accumulation meant the number of undead here was beyond imagination.

If it had been before, these undead might have served as a natural barrier for Black Castle, deterring petty thieves and protecting the Castle from prying eyes. But now, with Isabella and Kimberly having returned one after another, there was no need for this layer of undead as a barrier.

So why not change.

The Pure World Feast was prepared for this purpose; it was not about exterminating the undead, but about changing the aura of Black Castle. To no longer make it a place of convergence for the spectral spirits was, in fact, a change at the root.

Greya pointed to the hazy orb floating in midair: “This is the Pure World Feast.”

Angel curiously observed the orb shrouded in smoke, and honestly, he could not sense any ‘banquet’ feeling from it.

Greya seemed to notice Angel’s confusion and said with a smile, “Do you think the food prepared by the Gourmet Sorcerer is only for humans to eat?”

Humans are just one of many patrons of the Gourmet Sorcerer, and perhaps even the least noticeable one.

The food made by the Gourmet Sorcerer can be served not only to humans but also to other beings, including Elemental Life, and not just to living entities, but also feeding this land, this world, and even the universe stars, all within the purview of the Gourmet Sorcerer.

And the so-called feeding is not just through the “eating with the mouth” method.

The Pure World Feast, completed by Greya and Felicia together, was actually feeding this land steeped in gloomy resentment, feeding this area condensed in chilly aura, to achieve dispelling and purifying Negative Energy and changing the regional energy field.

After hearing all this, Angel could not help but marvel. His previous understanding of the Gourmet Sorcerer had been too narrow, and he even always compared the food made by the Gourmet Sorcerer to the potions made by Potionology.

However, the scope of the Gourmet Sorcerer is actually not smaller than that of any other discipline.

“Lady Greya, so it seems that the Pure World Feast must have been successful?” Angel, sensing the dense light energy in the air, asked Greya.

“You are now an Official Wizard, addressing me with honorifics would be improper; from now on, you can just call me by my name.” Greya did not answer immediately but first corrected Angel’s manner of address, then continued, “As for whether it’s successful, that’s hard to say.”

Greya shrugged, “At least we tried our best. Whether we can transform Black Castle, well, we will just have to try and see.”

Having said that, Greya took out a dish and a metal utensil with a very peculiar shape… let’s call it eating utensil. Greya used the utensil to gently scoop.

The orb filled with terrifying energy, like a dumpling, was placed on the dish.

Seeing this, Felicia did not hesitate to bring out a lid engraved with strange dark patterns, quickly covering the hazy orb.

There was a series of crackling noises from inside the lid, and at the seam between the lid and the dish, large amounts of gray smoke began to emerge… After a long while, the commotion finally subsided.

Felicia put the calmed “Pure World Feast” into the Exile Space.

As the orb of light vanished, the intense energy in the air also began to dissipate slowly.

“Our original plan was to directly integrate the Pure World Feast into this space, but the success rate of such an attempt was not high,” Greya paused, “Earlier, Lady Kimberly mentioned that you caught the Origin of Chaos that plagued Black Castle, and now you’re using the Samsara Overture to clear the undead. So, we thought, when the undead are almost eradicated, we could initiate the feast, and the effect should be even better.”

In such a case, the success rate would indeed be greatly enhanced.

Angel could imagine that if the feast were initiated and succeeded, Black Castle might truly undergo a great transformation.

Not necessarily a place of birdsong and flowers or sunny warmth, but at the very least, the environment would not be as harsh as it is now.

Angel was quite looking forward to seeing that day.

Once Greya had finished sharing her experiences and they had discussed the Pure World Feast, the topic finally turned to Sanders and Angel.

Sanders’s reason for visiting Greya was clear, naturally because of the matter they had discussed earlier, to retrieve Greya’s physical body from the Nightmare Realm. However, this matter required long-term planning and there was no need to delve into it at the moment.

That left Angel’s own affairs.

Angel carefully dispersed the residual energy in the air and then took out Toby, placing him on the table.

Greya’s gaze was instantly captured by Toby.

Toby lay quietly on the soft little bed, his chest rising and falling normally, as if he were asleep.

However, as Toby’s creator, Greya had a profound understanding of him. Just by sensing subtly, she noticed something was amiss.

Greya cradled Toby, and as specks of light dropped from her fingers and merged into Toby’s body, a large amount of dark mist began to emanate from him.

The dark mist lasted only a few seconds before vanishing. However, Greya’s expression was one of astonishment, and she fell into deep thought.

After an unknown period, Greya emerged from her contemplation.

Unable to wait, Angel asked, “What is Toby’s situation now—is he undergoing a tribulation?”

Greya regarded Angel with a strange look, and after a while, she sighed, “I’ve said before that perhaps I had spoiled him too much. Toby has been with me for many years without changing. So, when he decided to follow you, I let him go, hoping that you could induce some change in him, or rather, that he could grow alongside you.”

“The outcome is indeed remarkable. When I met Toby last time, not only had he encountered a tribulation, faced it, but also calmly passed through, resolving the rage and turmoil within.”

“The current situation, as you’ve speculated, is indeed another tribulation,” she confirmed.

Greya truly hoped that Toby would grow, after all, he was the only being she created using Creation Magic. However, this rate of growth was beyond even her imagination!

Having just overcome The Fury Tribulation, he was immediately entering another—was this like being on a series of roller coasters?

It was only a few years since Toby left Barbie Restaurant and he had already faced two tribulations?!

A sense of curiosity couldn’t help but arise in Greya’s eyes, “What exactly did you do for Toby to undergo another tribulation so quickly?”

What had he done? Angel sighed, “Actually, I haven’t done much. It’s just that Toby ate something.”

“He ate something? A food ingredient?” Greya’s focus immediately heightened when it came to eating.

“Yes,” Angel nodded, “Olaf Tentacle Crab.”

Olaf Tentacle Crab? As a Gourmet Sorcerer, Greya certainly wasn’t unfamiliar with the Olaf Tentacle Crab. It was a peculiar type of crab with anemones growing on its back, discovered in the Abyss by a wizard named Olaf, hence the name Olaf Tentacle Crab.

The Olaf Tentacle Crab was indeed a food ingredient, but from the perspective of a Gourmet Sorcerer like Greya, the tastiest part of it wasn’t the crab meat itself, but the parasites on it, the anemones on its back.

After careful thought, Greya considered that as a food ingredient, the energy of the Olaf Tentacle Crab was indeed somewhat domineering, but this was only for ordinary life forms. As a Transcendent being, Toby should have no adverse effects from consuming it.

So why did Angel mention the Olaf Tentacle Crab?

With a sigh, Angel briefly recounted the experience.

“All of this began with a Pilgrim of Misfortune…”
