Chapter 1452: Section 1453: Return to the Garden

In the Black Forest, Angel’s figure flashed and disappeared from one side of the castle, appearing at the other end of the valley.

Without Mandhela gathering them, the Black Forest was now full of wandering undead, who no longer restrained their desire to slaughter humans. As Angel flitted past them, they all swarmed after him like bees attracted to a scent.

In just a few minutes, hundreds of thousands of undead had been eradicated by Angel using the “Samsara Overture.”

About two hours later, Angel looked at the bright white light emanating from the barrel of his gun and sighed with relief.

Six White Light Bullets, successfully assembled once again.

After collecting the White Light Bullets, Angel opened a portal to the Soul Realm from a dark corner of the Black Forest.

It was time to meet Isabel.

As soon as Angel arrived in the Soul Realm, he was surrounded by the voices of the Witches, rising and falling around him. News of Angel’s promotion had already spread throughout the Soul Realm, and naturally, catching a glimpse of the real Angel attracted the attention of all the Witches.

Angel felt somewhat relieved that, although the Witches had their eyes on him, no one dared to approach him due to the pressure of hierarchy, allowing him some comfort.

While passing through an intersection, Angel saw a blond woman who was hurrying back from a teleportation node.

“Natasha,” Angel called out her name softly.

Natasha stopped in her tracks, looked towards Angel, and her eyes shifted from being distant to surprised: “Mr. Pat… Ah, Wizard Pat.”

Natasha seemed uneasy, lowering her head and not daring to make eye contact with Angel.

Angel raised an eyebrow; it was the first time he had seen the nervous side of Natasha, the half-mechanized person. Angel dimmed his aural presence and softened his voice, “Your timing is perfect. Lady Isabel had made an appointment with me to find her once I stabilized. However, I don’t know where she is right now, I wonder if you could take me to see her?”

After a moment of contemplation amidst the envious looks of the surrounding Witches, Natasha nodded and said, “All right, please follow me.”

Natasha immediately led Angel in a different direction. On the way to where Isabel was, Angel also learned some information from her.

Isabel was actually not in the Soul Realm, not even within the range of Black Castle.

Her location was not unfamiliar to Angel.

She was in the Garden of Living Souls.

“Occasionally, Lady Isabel would go to the surface to check on the rebuilding process, but she spends most of her time in the Garden of Living Souls,” Natasha said, leading Angel to another teleportation node.

After emerging from the teleportation node, they were in a secluded part of the mountains within the Black Forest.

Natasha took Angel to a Teleportation Array, which coincidentally was the same one they had used to sneak into the Black Castle years ago.

“I can only take you this far. We cannot enter the Garden of Living Souls without approval. However, since Wizard Pat has an appointment with Lady Isabel, she will surely sense your presence once you arrive in the Garden of Living Souls.”

Angel nodded in gratitude to Natasha and then stepped into the Teleportation Array.

Natasha watched Angel’s disappearing figure and sighed softly, touching her half-cold mechanical body, her head bowed in silence. It was not until much later that Natasha turned and left, her mood heavy.

Angel emerged on the altar at West Pollock.

This place was normally patrolled by just a few of the Flying Pig Knights. Upon Angel’s arrival, the Flying Pig Knights immediately surrounded him. Looking at these Knights, whose actual sizes were smaller than a palm, a trace of nostalgia appeared in Angel’s eyes.

He had led a group of Kulakuka tribespeople away, and although some had brought Flying Piglets with them, no Flying Pig Knights had emerged so far.

Watching these Flying Pig Knights circling around, Angel felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

“If not from the Witches, surely you are not from the Sacred Castle? Who are you?” the leading Flying Pig Knight, a small figure clad in silver armor, demanded of Angel.

Angel did not respond but instead took a moment to look around. His gaze settled on the distant, shrunken city of West Pollock, and he felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. Of course, this feeling of familiarity excluded the large formation creating Soul Pearls just below West Pollock.

Seeing that Angel didn’t answer, the Flying Pig Knight seemed a bit angry. At that moment, another knight riding a red pig, voiced his confusion, “Captain Lamp, doesn’t he look somewhat familiar?”

If only one person felt he looked familiar, that would be one thing, but several Flying Pig Knights were puzzled. “I just feel like I’ve seen him somewhere before?”

Lamp Spiller, who was also the captain of the Flying Pig Knights patrol team, studied the stranger’s face with seriousness.

They lived in the Garden of Living Souls, so they were well aware that the Sacred Castle was filled with Witches, and no man should be present. So why would his subordinates find him familiar?

After observing him for a moment, Lamp Spiller’s face also began to show doubt.

Even by the Kulakuka Tribe’s standards of beauty, the newcomer was extremely handsome, with golden hair like scattered golden Sunshine and a pair of blue eyes, the same color as the clear sky, clean and exquisite.

Such a visage, Lamp Spiller felt he had indeed seen it once before.

Where had he seen it?

As Lamp Spiller was mulling this over, Angel said softly, “Do you know where the High Priest Baya is now?”

The High Priest? As soon as Lamp Spiller heard Angel’s voice, his Memory Casket unfolded… The realization hit him, why Angel seemed familiar—he had seen Angel’s portrait in the Holy Temple of the High Priest!

According to the High Priest, this man was… the hope of the Kulakuka Tribe!

Lamp Spiller’s previously angry expression instantly subsided, “My lord, could it be Mr. Pat?”

Angel nodded, on his rare visit to the Garden of Living Souls, he too hoped to see his old acquaintances.

“High Priest Baya is within the Holy Mountain temple and hasn’t left for a long time. We are not permitted to go to the Holy Mountain, so we cannot guide you there,” Lamp Spiller said reverently upon confirming Angel’s identity, and the other Flying Pig Knights around him also bowed to Angel one after another.

After listening, Angel nodded.

His eyes turned to a nearby mountain which, to Angel, wasn’t particularly high, merely an average hill. But for the Kulakuka Tribe, this mountain was an insurmountable Holy Mountain, too lofty to climb.

At the peak, there stood a building that glittered with golden light as day turned to night.

That was the Holy Mountain temple.

Angel’s gaze lingered on the Holy Mountain, pensive. As soon as he had entered the Garden of Living Souls, his attention had been drawn to the Holy Mountain, for the core rules of the Garden were there, sending out strange pulsations toward every corner of the Garden of Living Souls.

“How about I lead the gentleman to the Centennial Hall to rest first, and then notify the Divine Officer to go to the Holy Mountain temple to inform the High Priest of the gentleman’s arrival?” Lamp Spiller suggested.

Angel shook his head and after a while said, “No need, I’ll go by myself.”

As Angel finished speaking, the Holy Mountain in the distance shrouded in mist suddenly emitted beams of light. The beams pierced through the barriers of space, and traveled from afar directly to the altar where Angel stood.

All the people of West Pollock saw this and bowed to the ground, whispering the name of the Holy Mountain.

Even Lamp Spiller was startled by this scene.

When the light touched down on the altar, a path of light appeared before Angel’s eyes. This path of light twisted and turned, leading straight to the Holy Mountain… However, its final destination was not the temple at the summit of the Holy Mountain but rather the backside of it.

As the path of light appeared, the Flying Pig Knights were all looking at each other, having never witnessed such a situation before, unsure of how to react. They could only watch as Angel stepped onto the path of light, his tall stature gradually being enveloped by the radiance.

When Lamp Spiller rubbed his eyes and snapped back to his senses, he found that Angel’s figure had already vanished.
